I don't think people appreciate the gravity of the situation here.

We're facing the end of days and there is more talk about weddings that battle plans. Movies seem more important than patrolling.

I was encouraged to find more than the battle but if we don't make it a priority thee won't be any weddings, or movies, or popcorn. None of it matters.

I can't afford to waste my time any more. None of us can.

Well yeah, but, we can't exactly fight him all that well if everyone's lost the will to do so. So, we're working on the trapping bit, with the getting the ring and stuff, and in the meantime, we keep ourselves busy.

What they do... it's what they protect.

Yup. That's pretty much it exactly. So. Do you want to try out more simple pleasure type things? Because there's more than just popcorn and movies and stuff. I still can't believe you didn't like the popcorn

I don't know what will happen if I'm distracted.

We could find something that won't be entirely distracting, if it'd make you feel better. Simple things, remember?

I have music and I like burgers.

What else could I try?

What kind of music? There's a lot of different kinds. And you could try other kinds of foods. I know you didn't like the popcorn STILL WEIRD but there's way more than just that and burgers.

Or you could try something else entirely. Like, I don't know, painting, or something?

The sounds of the sea.

And what if I like then?

Painting? Painting what?

So like a sounds of nature type thing? That's not technically music, I think So like, soft soothing music. Try looking up like piano music then. Classical stuff.

What if you like what? Burgers? You can still have burgers. But if you have a variety of things you like then, you can change it up.

I don't know. Just, painting. Anything you want to, I guess. It's fun, for some people. Marking art and stuff.

Yes. Like that. I know what a piano is.

And if I do what does it change?

I don't know how to make art.

It's not so much that it changes things, but, even things you like can get boring if you have the same thing all the time. So, having a lot of things you like keeps it from getting boring.

You could learn how.

I don't get bored. I think

How?

I'm not looking for more things to like.

Really? How do you not get bored? Everyone gets bored.

You could take a class, or they have books and things that will show you how.

You asked though.

I don't expect to be entertained.

I don't have anything to paint.

It's what people have been saying I should do.

That doesn't mean you wouldn't get bored.

You could try one of those paint-by-number things to start? I used to do those with my niece sometimes, they're actually pretty cool. And then once you get more used to it you could try painting your own things.

Maybe if you find more things you like to do and stuff, you'll see why.

I don't get bored. I get... other things.

I don't know what that is. Paint-by-numbers.

That will make my life here... fulfilling?

Um. Okay. If you say so, man.

It's this thing where they have the picture already printed out for you, but just the outline, and there's little sections numbered off to tell you what color to use so that you can learn how to paint stuff.

It can. At least, it gives you something to do that makes you happy, and it can be something you share with people you like, and that tends to make it more like that.

And you enjoy this? Painting? What would I paint?

I don't know if they'd want to see that I don't think that could make me I'll try it.

Um. I guess? I mean magic is more my kind of thing, but painting is kinda fun too. I liked doing it with my niece though, just because it was something we could do together.

Well hey, maybe you'll end up really like it. And if you don't, you could always try something else. There's a whole world out ther to explore.

Yeah. Not like magic like they have here, mind you. It's not real magic. I mean like, stage magician tricks.
