please except my appologies, but my old plans have changed and i wont be moving back to repose afterall. not for a while at least. i hope you haven't made too many changes to the room yet. if you're out any money for anything you've done, please let me know. i'll be working in town but living somewhere else. maybe i'll stop by your store some time and we can meet in person in case things change again.

( the days went pretty smoothly lately )

[The police show up at her recovery center. It's not anything she'd been expecting, and when she walks into her doctor's office for her normal appointment to see two cops standing there waiting for her, she immediately wonders if Seven wasn't able to pull the strings to get her out of her release arrangement. She wonders if they're there to relocate her - recovery to lock-up. But no, they have her sit down and start to ask her questions about Destiny. The news hits her like a truck - Destiny disappearing - and the progress she's made with speaking quickly evaporates in the stress of the questioning. Her doctor stays to help her along, but there's not much she can tell the officers. She hadn't seen Destiny in far too long, but that had more to do with her own issues and actions before landing in rehab. And no, she had no idea where the other woman would've gone. Without phone, without her brother... she tries to make them understand that Destiny wouldn't have left Wyatt like that. But the questions seem clinical, only going through the motions, and once they finish and excuse themselves, Marta spends a good hour in the room, trying to talk through things with her doctor.

It's not until much later the next day that another thing they'd said ("your belongings are being held in storage until you're released") made her realize that without Destiny and the house, Marta had nowhere to go once she was out. Somehow not thinking to reach out to people she already knows - actual friends - she turns instead to the forum.]

I asked for something for Christmas from my Secret Santa, and I've been waiting for the world to slow down enough to make plans for using it. That just hasn't happened yet, so I thought that I would throw the invitation out everyone and see what kind of plans, if any, we can make of it.

It's an all expense weekend trip to Vegas for all of us. Any takers? Reminder: You deserve it.

how are things going? I feel like I haven't seen you in months.

I was curious and curious and curious about why people never said things the clear way. Why not say what you feel? Why not just be honest? Why lies and secrets and pretty dances? And I've realized that it's just that no one wants to be disliked, and so they twist and turn and tie themselves in knots saying things they think are the right thing, instead of saying the things that are true. But, why? Why, why, why, when then people get to know someone who isn't you at all? Why offer flawless when you're not, or do you believe you are? And I think that too now. That some people can convince themselves, and the truth is you'll never, ever know anyone else unless you know their truth, and you'll never know their truth if you don't stop and listen and stop wording your defenses before they're even done telling you how they feel.

And, another thing, tarnish is beautiful. Shadows are beautiful. Divots and cracks and shattered things are beautiful. No one really wants the perfect thing. Perfect things are like dull surfaces and not real at all. Real is always better.
