Who: Pride Players & Staff
What: A meeting
When: Saturday mid-morning
Where: Pride offices
Warnings: IC/OOC | probably medium for potential swearing

Cav sent notices to all of the Pride players and staff that they should report to the Pride offices on Saturday at 10:30 in the morning for a brief team meeting before the season and practices start up again. Once everyone's assembled, he says he'll keep this as brief as possible and then launches into a short speech that explains the following things:
1. Coach MacFusty has aggravated an old Quidditch injury and is taking a short leave of absence to get it taken care of. While she's gone, both Lorna as the captain and Alasdair as a vice-captain will be leading practices. Cav will be attending each one as well in case anything's needed.

2. Luag MacFusty has chosen to also take a leave of absence for the rest of the season from his beater position due to some family matters and Cav is currently working out logistics regarding that open position.

3. A reminder that players and staff should not be discussing staffing changes, leaves of absences, player changes, etc. with the press and to point any press in the direction of Gwen as needed. He also asks that if anyone is approached by the press to please notify Gwen that it happened.

4. Finally, he reminds everyone that his office door is always open in the event that any player or staffmember have a concern regarding anything, from team relationships, personal training and growth, etc.

He will end by turning it over to any other admin (Owen, Gwen, Graham) who wishes to speak and also to ask if anyone has any questions.

It always takes a day or two to readjust after coming back from Brazil. It was however a wonderful trip, though the girls may start asking for two Christmas' in future years. Needless to say, my entire family is now kitted out in Montrose gear, and my brother baptized Theo while we were there. We packed as much as possible into our time there.

I wouldn't not complain, however, if Scotland had a bit more of Brazil's warmth.

Do you have time for lunch or a cuppa in the next week?

How are you settling into your new place? Is there anything you know or that we can bring?

The best thing about the end of the holiday season is not seeing any more of those ridiculous seasonal dueling matches. I'm sure there was a time when a duel featuring Father Christmas (whether with a wand himself or being held hostage by the villain of the night) was a novel sight, but that time is long past. Involving Janus is only marginally better. I suppose I should be grateful that the aged Spirit of 1999 didn't duel with and get defeated by the fresh young Spirit of 2000, but now that I've written that, I'm sure it's already in the plans for next year.

The second best thing is the lessening of the stream of broom adverts. Even as a professional Quidditcher, I hardly knew anyone who bought a new broom for Christmas every year, and yet this is what everyone is meant to expect if they're to have a magical day. Complete and utter nonsense.

The third best thing, in case you were wondering, is the end of wireless adverts in rhyme. Would that I could ensure that was a permanent end.

So much for coincidence. I always thought it unlikely in the first place, but capable as they may be in their various jobs, there's not a chance that all three of those children just happened to get extra duties or a promotion since starting their investigation. The young fools must have been discovered somehow. And they must be close to something, too, or there'd be little point in trying to slow them down.

Problem is we're all distracted right now. Holidays. Referendum. Special time-sensitive projects like the Euro Cup.

But even with as busy as we've been, two investigations should have gotten us farther than we are. I don't like it. They've been far too successful in halting us in our tracks.
