At least the weather was a little more like Wales as Gwen curled up in her now usual perch in the building sitting room. Having spent most of the prior day either fighting off lizards or tending to Gray had not left much time for anything else, so a breather was nice. As she sipped a steaming cup of Ianto's coffee she got to thinking as she jotted down some notes into her notebook (her private journal well hidden back in her room). But now she was curious, she knew via her chat with Sarah Jane that she had a son. "Maybe something will liven up my day" as she played with her pen between sips of coffee. |

As Gwen got the door of Gray's room open and them inside she knew she had to block the doors to keep the lizards out and them in one piece. So as she worked on blocking the door via boxes and various other ideas she had an idea. She knew Gray had to be able to trust her somehow so she ran with a pretty simple idea,"Your brother is one of my best friends and we work together" forgetting that her wedding ring could make a little kid curious at the same time. Having remembered something else she added,"There's an extra notebook in the desk if you want to use it" having hidden her private journal to be on the safe side. She also asked the planet for some food, having a weird feeling it would help things at the same time.
The fighter within her had taken over, scared kids always did that to her. |

Of course, the lizards in the library were gleefully ripping out pages of books by the handful and tossing them in the air, letting out the lizard equivalent of a giggle as they watched the pages float down. Some had toppled over a few bookshelves and were using the now empty stacks to climb around on. Yet another fight had broken out here as well, resulting in books being hurled back and forth at each other, accompanied by angry shrieks that could be heard from the hallways. A few other lizards who were wandering said hallways came inside, wondering what all the commotion was all about.
(OOC: As the day goes on, more and more will appear. There will be about 200 total, so about four and a half for each person, including those who are staying inside, so those who are fighting will have more to take down.)

With her coffee and journal in tow Gwen curled back into her newfound sitting room perch, one of the window seats. The night before had her finally starting to face having to mourn her fallen friends (which was several weeks in coming) but for now she really just wanted to try and lose the crying induced headache via coffee (Ianto's recipe in her case) and sunlight. She got to thinking,*Not going to cry in public, among my friends is one thing but the world at large would never understand* as she tried to write a simple entry between sips of coffee. |

Gwen had set up a huge pot of tea as she tried to putter around the room. The sofa looked like it was right out of the Hub as she set the teacups on the little table close by while watching the doorway (mostly since she,Jack and Ianto used a special knock). "Survived "forced fun" and well I only took one header into the drink this time" as she tried to fix the water damage from the header. But only a select few would understand why she had almost broken down crying the moments she could hear Owen smarting off inside her head about the forced fun or knowing Tosh would have been itching to unravel the mysteries of this place. But for now the tears she had been fighting back won (along with the cough from her still healing throat) as she popped a drop into her mouth and fought back the tears and the stabs of memory. |

The night in the steam had paid off and seemed to cut short whatever Gwen was coming down with (at least for the moment). So she dressed (jeans and a simple red shirt) and realized she was still a bit raspy throat wise,"Cough drops?" she asked between some coughing and found a little bag of drops next to her brown leather jacket. "Now to be quasi social, but first coffee of the non paint cleaner sort" as she walked through the resort and landed in the common room to find a steaming cup of coffee. So she curled up in one of the massive arm chairs with her coffee and notebook, taking notes on things she had overheard. She decided to book that heart to heart with Ianto for the next day since for now she had a bigger question, unraveling the mystery of this planet and the other people that were pulled here.
So for now between sips of coffee she just people watched and took notes, part of her wanting to be ankle deep in the flying snow but knew with her throat it was not the best of ideas. But she got to thinking of one thing, she and Ianto were due and with him staying with her for the short term they could finally talk. "For now I lurk" slipping a drop into her mouth to calm her throat. |

After a very long night of little sleep and a fair amount of sneezing and dry heaving Gwen dressed and stumbled into the resort's cafe. All she wanted at the moment was simple: coffee black enough to peel paint (and hopefully clear up her clogged nose). She found the steaming cup waiting and once she took her first sip she was blown away (almost spitting out that first sip), the coffee was the exact same kind Ianto brewed every morning in the hub. "Curious, this place must know something about out little habits" making a quick note in her notebook. But anyone could see what Gwen could not see, she was coming down with a nasty cold. Her eyes were bloodshot and caked in gunk, her nose stopped up and the blinding headache not helping matters.
She sneezed into a tissue as she sipped her coffee and tried to hid the fact she just wanted to go right back to bed (and basically pass out). |

It had been a routine run to check the sewers for weevils when it happened, Gwen had taken a crash landing into some water when she realized this was not the Cardiff sewers. She quickly made sure everything was still there or not broken (from her knapsack with extra weevil spray to her wedding ring on a chain around her neck). "Something is strange and for once the Rift is not a factor" as she slung the bag over one arm and went to nosy around. That was when she sneezed, nothing was wrong but something had to be. She had been hiding her raw emotions from everyone beyond Rhys, her husband. "Where is Jack and Ianto when I need them?" she muses under her breath.
So for now she just nosed around, looking for anything or anyone from her world. Part of her was more worried about Jack and Ianto after the recent loss of both Owen and Tosh, still a very rough subject for her. Outside of a quick sneeze or two and the semi dazed expression on her face Gwen was in one piece, but Jack and Ianto could see what she kept hidden from the world. Plus she has no idea of the recent kidnapping and one of the targets also being her friend. |
