Who: Commodore James Norrington and OTA
What: James is a somewhat disgruntled Commodore.
Where: In the resort, looking out at the beach and the pier
When: Day 9, afternoon
Rating: PG
Status: In Progress

James stood at the window and looked out at the beach and the pier. Both were nearly hidden by the spray and the foam being kicked up by the weather outside and he wasn't sure if he was pleased by that or not. Mostly he was just very, very disgruntled. It seemed so utterly typical that when something strange happened, it was both what he wanted and yet sullied in some way.

He'd been startled at the sudden change in the resorts whereabouts but had put aside thinking about that when he'd realised where they now were - by the ocean. He'd seen the pier and what looked like ships - small ones but ships nonetheless - moored beside it but before he could investigate, this damnable weather had swept in. Only a madman would even attempt to venture out to sea when it was like this and James was anything but a madman.

So here he was, near the ocean but unable to sail upon it. Stuck indoors in miserable weather in a strange place with people he didn't know. On the whole he'd rather be back in the Caribbean, sweltering under the sun and chasing down Sparrow.

Gwen had wandered out of her room, looking for something to do. She'd spent the previous day in the computer room - the entire day searching through the database looking for some answers as to where they were and why they were wherever they were. Unfortunately, Gwen had the distinct feeling that the computer was actually laughing at her. She needed Tosh - the computer expert who could crack any system. Gwen didn't know a fraction of what Tosh knew.

Not that Gwen wished this upon her other co-workers, she thought as she wandered through the resort, watching people coming and going through their day. All the people she passed seemed to be enjoying their forced vacations - so why was she still miserable?

It was while she was wallowing in her own self-misery, that she saw someone vaguely familiar. She paused, eyes going a little wide. It was the man she'd all but thrown herself at - the Commodore, James Norrington. How could she forget that name? she sighed to herself, pursing her lips as she thought of a way to get around him. Looking back on it, Gwen couldn't imagine what would have possessed her to do such a thing - honestly, he was a handsome man, and nothing short of a gentleman, but to throw herself at him and to tell him that she thought those things - that was very un-Gwen-like.

Trying to not be a coward - she could not turn around and run - Gwen took a few steps forward, hoping to just move past him without him noticing her. Gwen never had luck like that, she thought, trying to think of what she would say, should he turn around.
