It had been a routine run to check the sewers for weevils when it happened, Gwen had taken a crash landing into some water when she realized this was not the Cardiff sewers. She quickly made sure everything was still there or not broken (from her knapsack with extra weevil spray to her wedding ring on a chain around her neck). "Something is strange and for once the Rift is not a factor" as she slung the bag over one arm and went to nosy around. That was when she sneezed, nothing was wrong but something had to be. She had been hiding her raw emotions from everyone beyond Rhys, her husband. "Where is Jack and Ianto when I need them?" she muses under her breath.

So for now she just nosed around, looking for anything or anyone from her world. Part of her was more worried about Jack and Ianto after the recent loss of both Owen and Tosh, still a very rough subject for her. Outside of a quick sneeze or two and the semi dazed expression on her face Gwen was in one piece, but Jack and Ianto could see what she kept hidden from the world. Plus she has no idea of the recent kidnapping and one of the targets also being her friend.

Ianto was glad that the... excitement, he called it dryly, was over. He didn't feel so sore anymore and he and Jack were on good terms again.

Not for the first time, Ianto was glad that Jack was there. He would have been able to go on without him but he would have been very lonely. He loved Jack.

Leaving him to his own devices for a while, Ianto had stepped outside to go for a walk, get some fresh hair, clear his head and think about all the things that had happened since he'd arrived at this strange place. He still hadn't run into the Doctor... The place was quite big though.

He saw someone walking in his directions and continued on his way, planning on just nodded and saying a hello before passing by. Once he saw who it was, however, he stopped short. She looked wet but there was no mistaking it.

"Gwen?" Ianto wasn't sure if he was relieved or not that Gwen was here. "Is that you?"

	"Ianto?" Gwen's dark eyes caught his looking at her. "I just remember tripping in the Cardiff sewers while checking on the weevils and then I found myself in an even bigger puddle" sh explained. But the ring on the chain was a clue it was really her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Ianto watched her for a moment in silence, then let out a laugh. Tripping in the sewers, that was their Gwen. "Come on," he said, offering his arm to her with a smile. "It's not a normal day unless I take a header into sewer water right?" Gwen could crack a smile about that. She let Ianto take her arm,"Sorry about the smell and Jack's here!" her dark eyes said it all. If she had to be grabbed by the Rift at least she was among friends. She quickly filled Ianto in on her hunch,"First guess was the Rift since I found myself in a much bigger than your average sewer puddle".

Ianto waved a hand. "I've smelt worse things down in the archives," he told her good-naturedly. "It's actually not the Rift. It's this planet. It's... alive. Somehow. I haven't quite worked it out myself yet, honestly, but there's people we know here. The Doctor, Rose... I met a very nice woman named Ace who used to travel with the Doctor as well. And of course, Jack's here too." He watched her out of the corner of his eye as they walked. "Where did you come from? Jack and I seemed to have come from different times... What was the last thing that happened to you before you arrived here?"

He didn't tell her that she probably wouldn't be able to see Rhys for a while... Later. He felt a bit... sympathetic for Gwen. He didn't know what he would have done had Jack not been here when he'd arrived. Jack had made being in an unfamiliar place much more bearable.

"It had been a couple of days since the mess with the Daleks and about 3 weeks since Tosh and Owen were killed" Gwen got the words out since that was still a very touchy topic. "I remember getting a tip from Andy about the sewers and well that explains my header into a puddle of sewer water and then I land in a bigger puddle" Gwen related the events since the Daleks had stolen the Earth.

Her eyes almost bugged out,"Ok the planet is alive? That tops the Rift altogether and well that was my first hunch, me becoming a Rift gift". She got curious,"Are people here from other times in history a la the Rift and what happened last year during that last flux?" her mind spinning.

Ianto abruptly stopped. "A couple of days since the Daleks?" he asked, just to be clear. He didn't doubt Jack, not now. He didn't doubt that Jack would come back. But he had to ask. He wanted to know for sure. "How soon did Jack come back? I was taken while we were waiting for him to come back but he came from a time before then. He never seemed to have been gone though." He started to think outloud, musing. "Perhaps the planet brings us back with no memory of our time here..."

Ianto looked back at Gwen, answering her other questions. "No, the planet has nothing to do with the Rift, I'm fairly sure. There are people here from different times and places, but not like what happened then."

"At least a few days, granted I've not been sleeping so great so my timeline might be a little bit off. But I do remember the Daleks stealing the earth" Gwen nodded. "As for Jack it was a few hours after you and I saw the Dalek blow up in the Hub, Tosh's program was a time bubble that kept us safe" shuddering inside. Gwen's dark eyes were rimmed in red since she had only cried maybe once since everything was turned upside down.

Ianto almost closed his eyes in relief. Jack came back. He would never doubt again that Jack would always come back to them, to him. Noticing that Gwen looked upset, he placed a hand on her back and started to guide her forward again. "I was there for that too. Always brilliant, our Tosh," Ianto said with a tone of pride that also had a hint of sadness in it. He missed Tosh so much and Owen as well.

"My room ended up being near Jack's," Ianto said, changing the subject. "I bet you'll be nearby as well."

	"Nothing the 3 of us can't figure out, we have stared down worse after all" Gwen mused. But part of her would itch for action, blame the cop in her for that. "But part of me is curious to see how Jack reacts to me being dumped here, least we know its not the rift" her eyes a bit bloodshot but otherwise Gwen was in one piece in the physical sense. 	Gwen opened up her backpack and out came her tazer,"Besides that I have two cans of weevil spray, a pair of jeans knowing my headers into the sewer,cell phone and the usual odds and ends". Ianto tucked the tazer into his pocket gratefully. Now he didn't feel so... naked. If only he had his diary, then he'd have the things he more or less used daily or had just in case something went wrong. He'd started a new diary for what had happened here. Jack already knew what had happened to him since he'd arrived but perhaps he'd let Gwen read it... Or perhaps just tell her about some of the things. He didn't want Gwen to read about what he and Jack got up to together.

As they walked back to the resort, Ianto relented and told her about being kidnapping. He firmly assured that he was fine, that he'd only gotten a few bruises before she got overly worried about him. By the time he'd almost finished, they had arrived in front of the plaque in front of the resort. Ianto waved a hand at it. "There it is. The only thing that's here that the planet's spoken to us through."

Of course Gwen was about to slip into serious mother hen mode when Ianto reassured her it was only bruises. She took one look at the plaque and her eyes said it all: everything from losing Owen and Tosh to the Daleks and now this. It was starting to take its toll and it showed. "Ok, so there has to be something more than what we do know" her mind racing. But she touched the ring on her chain, for now her lone link to Rhys.

"Right now," Ianto began firmly, placing a hand on Gwen's back once again and steering her away, "we are going to go find your room, you are going to take a relaxing shower or bath and get into some dry clothes while I go get Jack. After that, then we can talk about this. Don't dwell on it too much. It could be much worse. We could be stuck on a hostile planet. This one doesn't like seeing people killed."

	Ianto smiled, leading the way to the lodging unit he and Jack were in. "He's probably still in our room." He didn't elaborate on that, as he often did when he spoke about himself and Jack to his friends. "Why don't I make some tea while you're cleaning up? It'll help calm you down." "Next to Jack's," Ianto corrected. "Why don't you go inside and see? Will you be alright on your own?" He really didn't want to stay while Gwen bathed but she really needed to get out of those wet clothes at least. He didn't want her to get sick her first day here. "I'll come back soon with Jack and something warm to drink, promise. We're in 207, just two doors down. Next to you in 205 is Sidney Prescott. I haven't met the person in 201 yet."

"I'll be fine and you nailed it, no need for me to ctach a cold from landing in a sewer puddle" as Gwen slung her backpack over her arm once more. "Go and get Jack and once I'm in some dry clothes the 3 of us can trade notes at least" as she offered Ianto a quick hug before going inside to shower and change.

(I think we can call this done once Ianto tags and you can start the thread for the 3 of them :) )

Jack stares stunned for just a moment before smiling broadly. He knew that he should probably feel bad for Rhys, left all alone, but at the minute all he could think was how good it would be to see a really good friend again.

Stepping up close behind Ianto Jack slipped his arms about Ianto's waist, and said, "So when's our lovely Gwen from?" Jack knows he's got to be careful aboout not telling people things from their future, just incase they remember when and if they get back home. Timelines really where a headache sometimes.

Daleks. Jack couldn't supress a small shudder, he really didn't like the idea of having those things anywhere in his future. However the knowledge that they'd presumably won based on the fact that Gwen was alive, was a comfort.

Letting go of Ianto Jack quickly gathered up three cups and tray. Placing them down on the counter next to where Ianto was making the tea, he asked, "How long do you think we should give her before we go and say hello?"

Ianto dug out his trusty stopwatch and clicked it. "Let's give her 20 minutes. That should be plenty of time."

He sat down comfortably on the bed, waiting for the water to heat up. "So... Gwen's here," he said slowly. "Do you think... other people we know will show up? We seem to be taken from different times..." Ianto watched Jack's face with a flicker of hope on it, hoping he understood what he was getting at. If Gwen was here, and the Doctor, and Rose, then surely the planet could bring other people from their time... like Martha... or Tosh and Owen.
