Where? Outside the restaurant
When? Day Seven
What? Pheremone trouble
Rating? TBD
Status? Incomplete

Gwen had a feeling; she'd had it the moment she'd woken up that morning. It was just a feeling. She got them sometimes when she was working, but seeing as this was a forced vacation, she wasn't exactly working. Gwen had considered not even getting out of bed, but deciding against wasting a day, she got up, showered and started her day.

It was right around the time that she was going to get some breakfast that she started to feel funny. She winced a little, trying to shake it off, feeling something funny in the pit of her stomach. Gwen felt flush all of a sudden and her heart beat a little quicker, almost skipping a beat for a moment. Taking a breath, she started walking again then paused when the most gorgeous man walk into her sight. This time, Gwen's heart all but stopped, she forgot how to breathe... what the hell was wrong with her?! And who was this man??

James had spent yesterday adjusting to being in this new place. He'd been surprised when he reached his room to find it was almost an exact replica of his cabin on the Dauntless. It was larger, of course, but it lacked the sound of the ocean and the constant movement that was the key of being on any ship. But it was comfortable and familiar and that counted for a lot. Though he did wonder that this place had chosen the cabin from his ship and not his bedroom from his house.

He had however been surprised and pleased to discover that the wardrobe contained clothes that could have come from his own wardrobe. Uniforms, both day-to-day and dress uniforms, as well as more casual clothing were all present as well as more commonplace things such as wig powder and ribbons to tie back his hair.

He was now dressed in one of his uniforms and had decided to investigate the dining room. He suspected it would not be like anything he knew but he couldn't hide in his room forever. It was undignified, if nothing else. He ambled along the corridor, his hands clasped behind his back, looking around at the unusual sights and trying not to look overwhelmed.

As he got close to the dining room, he saw a woman standing in the corridor, staring at him with something like surprise. He bowed slightly to her. "Good morning, madam."

"Madam?" she breathed, glancing around to see if he could possibly be addressing her - what with the gentlemanly bow and the formal introduction. She was not used to such treatment - maybe from Jack a little, but Jack wasn't so serious about it. Gwen laughed softly, pressing a hand to her racing heart as she smiled at him. "What a gentleman," she smiled, taking a step closer to him.

"I'm Gwen," she introduced herself. "I don't believe we've met yet. Have you been here long?" she smiled brightly up at him, a stupid smile she could not erase. What had come over her?! Every word that came out of her mouth felt like it was pick-up line! Have you been here long? What was she thinking?

Her head felt a little light and she just wanted to touch this gorgeous man. What the hell was wrong with her?!

"Erm, yes," James said with a hint of hesitation. The woman was acting very strangely though it was entirely possible that she could be like the female Lieutenant he'd met when he'd arrived here and be from the future. And didn't saying that make him feel like he should be committed to a sanatorium. Yet it seemed to be true enough here. Perhaps being from the future explained this woman's odd behaviour as it had Lieutenant Blade's.

"I'm very pleased to meet you, Miss... er, Gwen," he said a little awkwardly. It felt decidedly strange to introduce himself to a young woman so casually yet he had no idea who one would ask for a proper introduction around here, if that was even relevant. "I am Commodore James Norrington." He returned her smile with a reserved one of his own. "I have only been here for two days. This is my third. I confess I find this place decidedly odd."

"Commodore?" she breathed, still smiling like a fool. "That sounds very impressive. What exactly is that? I mean, I know it has something to do with the Navy or something - it sounds familiar," she continued, then paused to breathe.

"I really don't know what's wrong with me. You probably find me either irritating or insane, right?" she sighed, pouting a little. She wanted to touch him - he looked far too serious in all that uniform. Gwen thought he would probably look good in a good pair of jeans. Seriously - what was wrong with her? "Honestly, I'm not normally like it. I'm a police officer, or rather, I used to be. Am I babbling? I'm babbling, I know I am," she said, the words rushing out in a gush.

Her cheeks felt flush and she lifted her hands to her face. "Is it warm in here?"

"Erm, yes, it's a Naval rank," James said, feeling rather awkward and wondering if it would be rude to take a step or two back from Gwen. "Ranked between Captain and Admiral."

He clasped his hands tightly behind his back and smiled slightly. "Perhaps confusing might be a better word, Miss... er, Gwen." He blinked and confusion washed over his face for a moment. "A... police officer? But... you're a woman." He grimaced as he remembered Lieutenant Blade. Obviously Gwen must be from the future. "Forgive me, Miss... Gwen. I'm afraid that I am unaccustomed to the way things are done in... other times."

He looked around with a small frown. "No, it is quite pleasant. Perhaps a little cool from my point of view but I have been stationed in the Caribbean for some time."

"Yes, a police officer," she reiterated, and though she should have been offended - normal Gwen would have scoffed at his comment - this Gwen just smiled and shrugged. "Of course I'm a woman, you silly man," she laughed. "I work in the private sector now - more like black ops," she smirked, thinking he would be impressed.

"The Caribbean? That's a bit exotic - what kind of work would need to be done in the Caribbean by the... well, clearly the British Navy, judging from your accent," she smiled. Gwen paused, trying to collect her thoughts. "You're not from... I mean, this planet pulled you from... the past?" she questioned, looking him over once again. Not that she had a hard time looking him over, he was nice to look over.

James frowned, trying to find some sense in what the young woman was saying. "Private sector? Black ops?" he said, disliking feeling so confused but not understanding at all. "Is that something involving the Negroes or the Moors?" He shuddered remembering the Negro, Koehler, who he'd fought then finally killed on the Black Pearl when the curse had been broken.

"I am the commander of the British Navy and military forces at Fort Charles located at Port Royal," he said with understandable pride. He was young to be promoted to Commodore and, unlike many officers in London, his promotion was due solely to meritorious service. He nodded in answer to her question. "So am I led to believe. It was 1726, according to the calendar, when I was... brought here. May I ask what year you have been brought from?"

"Black ops means... well, it means that we're not supposed to exist. Like, offically my sector doesn't - wow, OK, it's getting complicated and confusing and... it's too early in the day for that," she laughed lightly. Now, Gwen never laughed lightly or flirtatiously. She was quite a serious person and it took a lot to make her laugh.

"1726?" she gaped, looking him over again. "Incredible.. oh, well I'm from the year 2007," she told him, "so nearly three hundred years in your future. I don't even know if the British Navy actively patrols the Caribbean anymore. It's mostly resorts. The only ships out there are cruise ships!" she laughed - yet again.

"I was just about to have breakfast? Would you care to join me?" she asked him.

James' frown deepened for a moment. "Not exist? Ah. I believe I have some idea of what you mean. The Admiralty occasionally has missions that aren't quite... legitimate. Mostly against pirates or the French."

"Indeed." He looked a touch surprised then realised that Lieutenant Blade had not told him what time period she was from. "We used to have quite the problem with pirates but they have mostly been subdued." He raised his chin proudly. Part of that was due to his own actions and had been the reason for his early promotion to Commodore. He grimaced. "Though there are one or two stubborn exceptions to that."

He gave a small reserved smile. "I would be delighted," he said with a small bow. He then stepped forward and offered his arm to Gwen in his best manner. He was never entirely comfortable with the demands of society but he had been well-drilled in them. He could walk the steps well enough.

"See, I guess we understand each other, somewhat," Gwen smiled up at him. "Although, it's not like anyone here can sabotage my work," she told him. "Us getting dragged onto this planet is exactly the kind of thing that my team would investigate. You could say we work with the supernatural and things not from around Earth," she told him, shrugging a little. "All in a day's work."

When he offered his arm, Gwen couldn't help but smile. Her heart skipped a little beat and she stepped forward, slipping her arm through his. Aside from Rhys and Jack, Gwen was never really comfortable around men - she didn't exactly know how to behave around them, but this certainly wasn't her normal behavior. She was all but throwing herself at the handsome Commodore! "So, Commodore, how do you find your new surroundings? Does the future intrigue you?" she asked him.

James snorted and looked faintly disapproving. "A pity then you weren't around in my time. I would much rather have had more... legitimate help for a recent situation than what I ended up with." It still galled him to have had to deal with pirates to get rid of Barbossa and his crew. Even though it had been Sparrow, whom he would fervently deny being mildly impressed by.

Once Gwen had taken his arm, they started walking towards the dining room. "Rather too dry for my liking I'm afraid," he said wryly. "I am a man of the sea. I would much rather a sturdy deck under my feet and an ocean to sail." He considered her second question for a moment. "The future is... interesting. I feel somewhat out of place though. It seems many things have changed since my time."
