[Just as evening starts to fall, one of the parks in Sector 4 has been festooned with streamers, bright lights in a variety of colors, a big upraised dais, tables of refreshments, and music. It looks like a perfectly normal party from the outside. Optional masks are provided in little bins beside the dais, but you're responsible for your own costumes...!



...And if you're dressed as a character, the moment you step onto the dais, you will believe yourself to have led that character's life for your whole life. This effect will last until "midnight", in this case Sunday, even if you leave the party.]

[Firmer yet, voice darkening as displeasure mounts and grows]

I really dislike it. [Fingers clench tighter, a vice like grip that shatters, unrelenting upon the fragile wrist beneath.] I really...DISLIKE IT. [A sharp twist and a crack as bone snaps easily in her hand, dark brown eyes rising to stare furiously into Saki's face.]

I INVITED YOU DIDN'T I? WHY ARNE'T YOU BEING NICE TO ME!?

[Stupid doll stupid doll stupid doll stupid doll! Her body's tense, upset for a moment as though about to cry...before A low, abrupt giggle penetrates the space between her outburst. Oh how silly! If she doesn't like the things her doll says, why not fix the problem?]

Hee hee... I'll just remove it. ♥ [Glancing up, madness lights her eyes as a wide grin spreads across her face, sharp fangs peeking out and clearly evident. She tilts her head to the side cheerfully.]

Hold still for a moment. [Forcing a broken wrist and the opposite one together in a tight hold before her, Yuuki's other hand moves to Saki's mouth, prying it open with strong fingers.] If we take out the voice box, you won't have to say such mean things to me anymore!

[Saki feels her wrist growing warm before the bones shatter, her vision blurring with hot, unshed tears -- never wanted to cry again, never wanted to feel pain or weakness again--

But there isn't any time, and it hurts so much, a single sharp cry loosing from her lips; the white hot pain dulling only as her horror flares. She can only limply let Yuuki the thing that looks like Yuuki pull her wrists together, feeling the snapped bones shift and press under the grip.

But she still tries to move her head, whimpering against Yuuki's fingers, please don't do this--]

[Observing everything in a little more proactive manner than he normally did at these sort of events was something necessary tonight. Zero had immediately noticed the changes in a large number of inmates in attendance. Yuuki was one of those and as such, he'd been keeping a closer eye on her tonight. He had been a little bit away from the scene when everything escalated, but he'd immediately rushed across the floor to their side just a second after Zelman reached them.

Arm wrapping around Yuuki's waist, he tugged her away a few feet to get some distance between the two girls.]

Leave her alone, Yuuki.

[Head tilting to the side to observe Zelman, eyes widen in surprise. Someone is... interfering? The pressure to her own arm is uncomfortable, firm and demanding. Yet even as she opens her mouth to speak another interruption hurdles her backwards.

Why...?

How terrible. All of the foolish humans and individuals are here because of their crimes. What right do they have to interfere with her? Mere chains and annoyances.]

Why would you... think to interrupt me?

[Quiet, dangerous and low.]

[there's something akin to irritation at...seeing the other Zero restrain her, but the situation right now is demanding her full attention. whatever was messing with everyone's minds clearly got to Yuuki. standing right next to her, spreading her arm out in front of Yuuki.]

[Saki's eyes flicker upwards with one-- no, two-- no, three rescuers.

It's to Zelman that she goes when Yuuki is pulled away, her injured wrist pressed tightly against her stomach -- another weak moment he gets see -- and clutching at the closest fold of his jacket that she can find. Her breathing is heavy, laboured, and her voice shaky--] You're late. [She called you what, an entire minute ago? Forty-five seconds?]

Sorry Yuuki, but it looks like the party's over. [ directs his attention to Saki, but doesn't let his grip go on Yuuki's wrist just yet. Zero and that female Slayer may have just arrived on the scene, but this was Yuuki at her most dangerous. he knows too well what vampires do when they're half-sane ]

Try not to move your wrist too much. [ 'sorry'. shifts so that Saki's a little behind him. ]

[His immediate instinct was to check on the victim, but knew that if Faith really did think that she was him, she'd cover that. Zero also knew there was a strong measure of trust between both Zelman and Saki and he was capable of keeping an eye on her. His focus needed to be on getting Yuuki out of there and back to her usual self.

His gaze, calm but cold, turned to Zelman to give them some time to accomplish this.]

[Listening silently she doesn't say much for a moment, still surprised and taken aback by the fact that she's being chastised for something so silly. What right did they have to stop her? It's maddening though, bubbling into frustration.]

[Chastising, almost as though talking to a room full of children who don't understand very well.]

You're all misbehaving so much. This isn't how play time is supposed to go. [Disapproving, voice a lecture.]

Maybe I'll just have to disassemble all of you!

[Air cracking, sparking abruptly with the surge of energy in it, her long, chocolaty hair flies wildly as a rush of invisible jagged points rush forward, slicing whatever is nearest around her. Tearing back one of her hands, freshly manicured nails elongate and she near casually swipes forward, aiming for the heart of the pretty brunet ahead of her.]

[she anticipated this, but Yuuki's still really fast. which is why her nails manage to scrap against Faith's shoulder even as she dodges, getting cloth and scraping by skin in the process. the jagged points don't help either (more rips in her clothes and blood in those cuts), but she stands firm against them.]

[YOUR NEXT MOVE I WILL BE PREPARED...]

[ immediately turns around so that his back gets the brunt of the attack. doesn't so much as flinch or grit his teeth, but he does release Yuuki's wrist. thankfully Yuuki's after Faith, so he's going to take this chance to scoop Saki up in bridal position. again. ]

Hold on. [ and he's going to jump and float in the air to get awaaay ]

[Saki only has one hand to hold on with, the other still cradled against her stomach to keep the bones from unsettling any further -- but her good hand clutches at his collar, leaning a bit into his chest.

A murmur of assent is the last noise she makes that night.]

[He just watches as Zelman picks up and takes off with Saki.The scent of blood surrounding him, the only thing distracting him from the pleasant scent of Faith was the strong heartbeat and the sound of blood rushing through the veins of the girl within his arms.

She would never forgive herself for this. Grasping her wrists in one of his hands, he got down to her level to speak with her.]

If you can't behave yourself, I'm removing you from the party.

[Which he had no intention of allowing her to stay unless she could get her real personality back.]

You sound like Glen.

[Hollow, near empty words though a sinister undercurrent runs deep below, unhappy. Red is beginning to tinge her eyes, the strange scent of blood in the air stirring inner instincts.]

You know I really hate Glen. He never lets me leave that place and makes it so difficult to see Jack. If you're going to get in my way too, then...

[Shadow, thick and heavy rises from beneath them, coiling up his body to twist and turn, inching it's way around limbs to freeze & bind, forcing him to release her hands. With a step forward, she smiles almost tenderly as she cups a warm cheek within her palm.]

Maybe I need to get rid of you.

[Her opposite hand slowly starts to press into his stomach, nails sinking in to pierce tender flesh. She'll allow nothing to stand in her way of seeing Jack, again. After all, he's the only thing of importance in an incredibly lonely world.]

[Since Kaien suspected something was wrong with Yuuki, he sticked close, and now that he sees that she's attacking Zero, he moves in quickly. He yanks Yuuki's hand out of Zero's stomach and then holds onto the other one. Stands on the other side of her and helps Zero restrain her.]

Zero! Are you alright...?!

[Can't really do anything about the punch flying towards Yuuki's face though.] Lehane-san! Stop!

[He can't reach his gun to break whatever power Yuuki was attempting to overpower him with. Frozen and bound, it acted similar to the pureblood compulsion, except physical instead of emotional.

Her fingers dug into his flesh, the pain excruciating and his body unable to stop her. The dual attacks from both Kaien and Faith broke the spell as he pushed away, nausea rolling into the wake of the injury.]

I'm fine. [The words were rough and just came out on painfully ragged gasps as he felt warmth of blood invading the fabric of his shirt.] We need to get her out of that costume.

[The hit grazes her cheek, eyes catching the fist as it nears but unable to dodge completely as hands to either side of her work to hold her down.

Shock & anger fuse together, mingling within a turbulent ocean of feeling beneath the surface. Those feelings are overshadowed though by primal urges, body reacting instantly to the scent that fills the air, so potent like a drug and intoxicating to the senses. Her eyes grow darker yet, crimson flooding the usual brown pools of depth.]

Ah~! So good...

[Electrical currents surging through her once more, she releases the electricity with two, sharp bolts directed for both Kaien and Faith, shoving them up and away from her. Free once more a hand rises to her lips where eyes flutter shut in an expression of ecstasy as her tongue slips out. From the base of her palm and up she laps the thick, red blood carelessly dripping down her hand, a shudder of pleasure coursing through her body. Like honey to the lips, teasing drops that beg more as it saturates her tongue create only the desire to take.

Gaze swiveling back to Zero she melts into a flurry of butterflies, only to form once more, solidifying directly before him in the air and only slowly lowering, as bloodied fingers reach out to capture and cup his face in her palms.]

You taste so delicious. I wonder why...

[A smile spreads slowly, fangs pointed and sharp beneath thirsty eyes, peeking threateningly with a grin.]

Before you break any further I want more. ♥

Ahh...! [Is thrown backwards and stunned for a moment. He shakes his head and stands up quickly.] Yuuki...! [Glances over at Faith to make sure she's okay, then runs forward and does the first thing he can think of. He dives for Zero's gun.]

...Stop!

[Immediately shoots towards her, making sure to aim far away from vital points. Instead hits her in the shoulder, knowing full well it won't kill her, but will only hurt and stun her.

BAM!

'Sorry Yuuki...!']

[He froze, entirely creeped out at the sight of her licking his blood off her fingers. Her appearating into butterflies before reappearing next to him, moving to finally draw his gun, it was gone before he managed it. Things practically moved in slow motion after that. You just unarmed the person who needs his weapon the most. Thanks, you idiot. Right after Kaien fired, Zero dove to disarm Yuuki, hoping to take the distraction to remove such a powerful weapon from her grasp.

Dropping to his knees, ignoring the blindingly sharp pain within his abdomen as he moved, he was familiar enough with the girl in front of him to know exactly where her weapon was held and how to quickly get it from her.

Sadly, he had to reach high on her thigh beneath her skirt.

She'd just ripped open his stomach with her bare hands and told him she wanted a better taste of his blood.

This would make them even in his eyes.

Fingers slipping past the frilly fabric, the electric current of the weapon attacked him, burning his fingers.

Artemis had never liked him.

Ignoring it, he grasped and pulled her from the holster. Hand burning as the weapon rejected him, he turned to Kaien.]

Give me my gun back you idiot.

[Tossing Artemis in your direction.]

[Blinding pain explodes in her right shoulder, blossoming red soaking through to stain the pure, white dress a permanent shade. Crying out she doubles over, a hand immediately moving to apply pressure to the wound upon her shoulder. Sheer hot, it feels like being pierced with fire that only continues to smolder, burning the skin and path within.]

Hah--

[The hand that slides beneath her skirt is felt and she reaches to grasp his wrist but is seconds short. Now they've all hurt and stolen from her. How cruel. How can they do such terrible things? Cradling her shoulder she stands, hair obscuring her face and body slanting to the side as she tries to strain the wound as little as possible.]

Mean.

[A quivering shake to her voice,the prelude to tears as she finally glances back up, liquid glistening wetly as she stares at the three of them. The hand on her injured arm clutches at the fabric of her skirt tightly, and she freely sniffles.]

All of you are....are so mean!
