Concrit meme - Take 82!

Time for our monthly How's My Driving meme!

- Comment to this post with a list of your characters. You may add any commentary you'd like, such as things you'd wish to get feedback on.

- Reply anonymously to the other players, giving concrit on how they're playing/their characterization/their interactions/etc.

- 100% negative comments will get screened/frozen/deleted, and can be grounds for banning if they're bad enough. Game rules apply here as well, so don't use it as an excuse to insult others. How can you tell the difference between giving crit and bashing? The second has no purpose. Giving crit means you want things to improve - by clearing out a misunderstanding of a character's actions, by helping a player manage activity better, by pointing out where characterization might be off, etc. If there are issues with a character that go beyond what giving crit would do (either characterization issues or something else), talk it out personally with the player, or with us mods instead.

- Simply giving positive feedback is just fine! Of course, we encourage these to be as elaborate as possible, as it's always better to get an idea of why a character/player is doing things right.

This is non-mandatory! If you aren't comfortable with the HMD, or don't feel like posting every time, or whatever the reason is, you don't have to post to it. However, don't be that person who gives crit to others and then doesn't open up for crit themselves.

On that same line of thought - we're a small game! If nobody comments, then the meme doesn't work. If you receive comments, try to leave at least one of your own to somebody else. It's always better if we have many replies, and various POVs.

rule addition

We'd like you all to check out the applications page, which has two new additions.

First of all, and that one's more easy to see, there's a line in the application template that ask for applicants to explain why their character would be a good addition to the game! It's detailed further there, and keep in mind this isn't a mandatory addition to applications, if you can't think of anything to say there's no need. But we do encourage people to at least give it a thought and consider the kind of CR or developments they could play out, when intending to bring someone over.

Second, the re-app template has an addition that is mandatory: we ask for three ideas for things the character could do upon their return. This doesn't mean it'll be monitored and, should the ideas fail, the character will not be forcibly dropped or anything. It's merely a guideline, of course, a little on the same line as the addition explained above.

If you have any questions or doubts regarding these, let us know!

Activity Check

Time for the bi-monthly Activity Check! In case anyone's forgotten, the activity requirements can be found here in the FAQ.

Please comment here and provide the necessary info - we won't ask for specific formatting, just go with whatever's easiest for you. As long as we can see you've fulfilled the minimum requirements, it's all good.

The post will be open until the 21st! You have until then to gather any missing comments. Any posts or threads played after this post goes up can be counted for the following AC - you simply can't have a thread count for two different periods.

Requirements and timing under the cut )

This post is now CLOSED.

announcements

A few things!

- First of all, check out this brand-new entry regarding item/pet requests! With the Wish Note event being used several times already, and our pondering on an IC reward system of sorts for a while nowe, this is what we've come up with. It does effectively replace the past Wish Note event, so don't count on that one any longer.

- We've also added a note to the applications section of the FAQ regarding temporary app, since it was brought up.

Make sure you read both! And as always, go ahead and ask if you have any questions.

notes

As always, our Monthly plotting post is up!

Other than that, this is an important month, as April 1st is the birthday of several of CLAMP's most important characters, and it's considered CLAMP day by them and their fandom. We'll be having an event to celebrate it, only we'll push it forward a little to after AC begins this 15th, so we can make better use of it.
