Action Scene: Padfoot runs from himself only to find the past isn't ever far behind

Sirius left Lily alone, thinking about all he'd said to her, and wondering if he'd gone round the twist or not. Remus has always been the sane one, the calm, cool and collected one and now, was he actually trying to fill those world weary shoes? Did Harry even need either of them any longer?

Groaning, he rubbed his face and sighed as he looked to the heavens and did the one thing that had always calmed him in the past. He shifted into Padfoot, shaking his fur and turning his nose to the sky. He inhaled the late afternoon scents and looked around the grounds. Taking off at a dash, running full out and hard, he tried to exhaust himself and his mind. Things were so much easier as a dog.

Skidding to a stop and panting, he spotted a figure in the distance. He sniffed the air, snuffling softly as he recognized the scent. He loped closer and changed back, leaning against a tree and breathing heavily as he closed his eyes.

"Come on out, I know you're there."

	Pretending the sad tone in Sirius's first question and the softness in the second one didn't make him shudder inside, Remus shrugged. "I'm good." He paused. "I'm alive... I have a family... 	"She hasn't been herself," Remus shook his head. "Ever since we got back. It's like only half of her came back to life, and everything else is just a... a shadow. She... she needs me now." Remus's throat felt like it was caving in on itself. He couldn't remember the last time he had wanted to cry so badly. But Merlin, he just felt so... so fucking trapped.
