Action Scene: Padfoot runs from himself only to find the past isn't ever far behind

Sirius left Lily alone, thinking about all he'd said to her, and wondering if he'd gone round the twist or not. Remus has always been the sane one, the calm, cool and collected one and now, was he actually trying to fill those world weary shoes? Did Harry even need either of them any longer?

Groaning, he rubbed his face and sighed as he looked to the heavens and did the one thing that had always calmed him in the past. He shifted into Padfoot, shaking his fur and turning his nose to the sky. He inhaled the late afternoon scents and looked around the grounds. Taking off at a dash, running full out and hard, he tried to exhaust himself and his mind. Things were so much easier as a dog.

Skidding to a stop and panting, he spotted a figure in the distance. He sniffed the air, snuffling softly as he recognized the scent. He loped closer and changed back, leaning against a tree and breathing heavily as he closed his eyes.

"Come on out, I know you're there."

	Harry felt a frisson of surprise shoot through him when he got a clear look at the figures. Horribly familiar. He skidded to a stop and blinked a few times. "Bugger me," he cursed, cocking his head to the side. Part of his mind told him backing up, turning around, and leaving would be highly suggestible. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Remus didn't answer right away, but he let Sirius's quiet words lull him into a state of peace, or at least, as peaceful as he could be right now. He believed Sirius's promise, believed it with everything he had. They could figure this out, together. Everything would be okay.

When they left this spot and Remus went back home, back to his cold, sad wife and his darling child who had no idea how fucked up his parents and the world were, everything would shatter again. But for now, this moment, in each other's arms, Remus could convince himself that everything would turn out the way it should.

	Sirius continued to rub Remus's back but looked up as he heard another sound, cetain it was a voice this time. His eyes widened as he stared at Harry and he tightened his arms around Moony, holding him to him. He sighed softly and shook his head. "Ah, Harry. Lovely night, isn't it?" Sirius looked down, thankful he'd had the foresight to tuck Remus back up. At least the married respectable one was still fairly decent. He glanced back up at Harry and smiled at him.

They'd been caught and there was nothing for it now except some damage control and Sirius really didn't think Harry was going to call out the Aurors on him, if he could keep the boy around long enough to explain.

"Harry... You don't have to go." He ran a hand over the back of Remus's head, playing with his hair and still staring at Harry. "Unless this bothers you. I mean, after James's foolishness, I can understand you feeling uncomfortable."

	Sirius smiled and nodded at him as he ran a hand over the back of Remus's head again. He tried to remain calm as he collected his thoughts and decided how much to tell Harry. Remus, exhausted by the night and soothed by the gentle movements of Sirius's fingers through his hair, couldn't find the strength to turn around and move away, despite the shock and embarassment that shook him when he realized who had discovered them. After a moment, he finally managed to turn his head. He didn't move away from Sirius, though, Harry's reaction be damned. "Harry... hello..."

	Visually confused, Harry stammered, "Er...hello Moony." He looked at Sirius who in turn seemed very amused but happy. "I...n-no.
