Action Scene: Padfoot runs from himself only to find the past isn't ever far behind
OOC: NC-17 rated scene contained within. If you are underage, stay away.

Sirius left Lily alone, thinking about all he'd said to her, and wondering if he'd gone round the twist or not. Remus has always been the sane one, the calm, cool and collected one and now, was he actually trying to fill those world weary shoes? Did Harry even need either of them any longer?

Groaning, he rubbed his face and sighed as he looked to the heavens and did the one thing that had always calmed him in the past. He shifted into Padfoot, shaking his fur and turning his nose to the sky. He inhaled the late afternoon scents and looked around the grounds. Taking off at a dash, running full out and hard, he tried to exhaust himself and his mind. Things were so much easier as a dog.

Skidding to a stop and panting, he spotted a figure in the distance. He sniffed the air, snuffling softly as he recognized the scent. He loped closer and changed back, leaning against a tree and breathing heavily as he closed his eyes.

"Come on out, I know you're there."

Sirius nodded and stood, pulling on his trousers. He cradled Remus's face in his hands. "Whenever you're ready. I do want to meet him." He pressed their mouths together softly.

Remus melted into the kiss, bringing his hands up to lay them over Sirius's, lightly stroking them with his thumbs. "Gods, you're not making it easy for me to leave," he whispered with a dry laugh.

Sirius chuckled. "No, I'm just stacking the deck to make certain you'll return and not just for the full moon, either." He swallowed and stepped back from Remus. "I'll be here if you need me, Moony. All you have to do is owl me."

Remus nodded. "Thank you, Padfoot." He took a step further to be sure he wouldn't pull Sirius into his arms again. "Love you," he whispered, then closed his eyes and thought of the house where his wife and child were waiting.

Sirius watched him. "Love you too Moony. Everything will work out in time."

Remus smiled as he heard, then felt himself relocate. When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer on the grounds of Hogwarts. There was a feeling in his chest that was a little like happiness, but left him just a little bit cold.
