Action Scene: Padfoot runs from himself only to find the past isn't ever far behind

Sirius left Lily alone, thinking about all he'd said to her, and wondering if he'd gone round the twist or not. Remus has always been the sane one, the calm, cool and collected one and now, was he actually trying to fill those world weary shoes? Did Harry even need either of them any longer?

Groaning, he rubbed his face and sighed as he looked to the heavens and did the one thing that had always calmed him in the past. He shifted into Padfoot, shaking his fur and turning his nose to the sky. He inhaled the late afternoon scents and looked around the grounds. Taking off at a dash, running full out and hard, he tried to exhaust himself and his mind. Things were so much easier as a dog.

Skidding to a stop and panting, he spotted a figure in the distance. He sniffed the air, snuffling softly as he recognized the scent. He loped closer and changed back, leaning against a tree and breathing heavily as he closed his eyes.

"Come on out, I know you're there."

	Sirius opened his eyes and smiled at Remus. "One day at a time, Moony. It doesn't matter what happened in the past." He reached up and ran a finger down Remus's face then pressed a kiss to his mouth. "Love you too Moony." (Reply to this) (Thread)

Remus sighed in contentment and exhaustion. He resumed the movements of his fingers through Sirius's hair and closed his own eyes. Tonks was going to wonder where he was if he didn't come home tonight, but he was so tired, and moving from this spot was an unthinkable task.

Sirius studied his lover his own, eyes fluttering open and shut in contentment as Remus's fingers carded through his hair. The ground was going to get cold shortly and he knew Remus couldn't stay with him as much as he'd like him to but he was going to ask. "I've a room in the Tower," he murmured softly. "You're welcome to stay."

Remus threaded his fingers through Sirius's and brought the hand to his lips. "Thank you. I'd like that."

Sirius nodded and traced Remus's lips with his fingertips, his heart nearly bursting at the thought of being next to Remus the entire night through. However, one thing ate at him. "And Teddy?" he asked softly. "Is he safe with Tonks?"

Remus momentarily froze. Teddy. Fuck, how could be such a horrible father as to not think about Teddy's safety? Sirius had never even met the boy, and he'd thought of him. "Teddy..." he said quietly, paining to say what he thought he should, "I don't know... maybe I should go...."

Sirius nodded and sat up, catching Remus's face in his hands. He swallowed hard. "Go home. Take care of Teddy and yourself. I'll be here when you need me and I'll see you again on the full moon." He leaned in and pressed his mouth to Remus's.

Kissing Sirius back like it would be their last time, Remus felt the sting of tears again. Gods, he was like a premenstrual woman tonight. When they pulled back, he leaned his forehead against Sirius's. "I'm sorry. You know I'd love to stay with you." He gave him another swift kiss and then stood, slowly and reluctantly. He began to gather his clothing.

Sirius moved off of Remus's clothing and lounged back on his own, drawing his wand to cast a cleansing charm before Remus could pull on the first item. He smirked and watched the show. "There's always next time, you know. Bring Teddy here and we'll let him play on the Pitch."

Remus shot him a glare, holding back his smile. "That would be very responsible of me, Padfoot."

Sirius chuckled. "A visit from Padfoot can be arranged. Harry loved Padfoot when he was a child."

	Remus melted into the kiss, bringing his hands up to lay them over Sirius's, lightly stroking them with his thumbs. "Gods, you're not making it easy for me to leave," he whispered with a dry laugh. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Remus smiled as he heard, then felt himself relocate. When he opened his eyes again, he was no longer on the grounds of Hogwarts. There was a feeling in his chest that was a little like happiness, but left him just a little bit cold. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Sirius waited for just a moment then gathered up his clothing. He pressed his face into the cloth breathing in Remus's scent that still lingering on them before padding slowly back up to the castle. (Reply to this) (Parent)
