It was shaping up to be a slow day on communications today, which wasn't surprising given that the whole city seemed to be geared towards resting, enjoying the silence, or helping clear the roads. Not too long after her shift, Alex was charged with a task outside the building. A small convoy was being sent out to check up on the progress and pick up reports, and Alex as communications officer, would be in charge of those reports. It was a good thing too, since Alex was getting bored out of her mind.

The moment the trams were reported functional enough to transport them from the station nearest to their homes to their places of work and research, there was a mass migration of work-addicted Westlakes. Of course, many of them - privileged as they were - had personal vehicles that they normally took to work. With the severe damage brought about by the storm and massive bird attack (massive meant to describe both the scale of the attack and the birds themselves), most of their personal vehicles had been rendered useless or inoperable. Nate did have a personal vehicle, though he usually took the tram to work. Mostly because he could think and read if he was using public transportation, whereas he couldn't do that if he drove himself. At any rate, his hood was completely dented in and one of his side mirrors had been completely removed from the car (among other things). That wasn't even counting the huge bird prints on the roof of his vehicle.

Weather: Cold and overcast. Back to normal, more or less.

Events: Shortly after midnight power is returned for all upper districts. Power is restored for all middle class districts by dawn, lower class by nine, and the slums by noon.

The furies have apparently given Haven up as a lost cause and retreated. There's still a great deal of damage all over the city, either from the weather or by the furies themselves, and the clean-up efforts are going pretty strong. Clearing the roads is a big priority after the power is returned, and tram services are more or less restored by lunch.

Beyond that? Very quiet day. Better take advantage of that to regroup and relax, eh?
