Premise

At some point they were all taken.

A group of people from far and wide wind up in an old hotel. They have no obvious reason why they, among others, have been chosen. All they know is that they are trapped there, their only escape into scenarios spanning time and space, from the mundane to fantastic. With each new scenario, the scenery and the players change, and with each new location or time, comes a new quest, something else to be overcome, survived, or figured out.

Along the way Talismans find their way into the hands of the adventurers, each one seemingly specifically chosen for the holder, each one coming with both abilities and pitfalls of carrying it. Some help with the objectives, some hinder, but all carry a unique power.

As each scenario ends, each objective if obtained, the travelers wonder if they’ll end up home, back to the original timelines and lives, or if, like before, they’ll wind up in the hotel again, surrounded by old dusty furniture and a staff that seems neither helpful or hurtful.

Where will they go next? Who will they meet, and who will come back with them? Because sometimes, they find that people have hitched a ride back to the hotel, just as stuck as the original group that was chosen, hoping to find their way home again.

Pulling the strings are dark forces no one quite understands. All they can do is keep playing the game.
