Not the Leading Man

Who: Marian and Caleb
When: Morning
Where: Tournament Grounds

She’d spent the night in the castle like he told her, but it wasn’t exactly any better inside, what with wolves and birds and rabid chipmunks or something storming the banquet hall, but things had eventually calmed enough that there was something other to do than be scared. She’d set to work the moment someone would let her, helping with the hurt, the wounded, trying to get them what they needed. All the while she’d asked questions, listened to stories, picked up bits and pieces of information here and there. A witch had attacked they said. That the animals rampaging was her fault. It sounded ridiculous, but at the same time, what Marian had seen wasn’t normal.

All the while she watched the door for him. She assumed he’d be next. He’d said he would come back, he’d all but promised, but again and again he wasn’t there. She waited until dawn, barely sleeping, but as the others started to leave, started to find safety outside, to pull the tournament back together, Marian went with them. Her dress was stained with blood, none of it hers, but there nonetheless from helping out, her arms flaking a little bit of dried blood here and there as well. She hadn’t slept which meant dark circles under her eyes and her hair far more wild than it had been the night before. She looked a mess, but she had one goal, searching through the people for him, determined to find him.

Well, Don Draper was a grade A asshole )

Unfamiliar But Interesting Surroundings

Who: Marian and OPEN
Where: Around the tournament grounds
When: midday

Marian was completely baffled by everything. They'd found their way to the tournament as a trio, but Marian had to wander off to explore some. She couldn't help it. It was too damn curious and for someone with the curiosity of a cat, Marian was determined to wander about, taking in the sights and wishing she had a notebook to take notes with. She was still dressed in the same dress from the day before, a deep forest green that fit her perfectly, surprisingly perfectly, and stood out against her hair, though her hair wasn't tamed at all, a mess of curls that frame her face. She kept pushing at it, taking in the sights at the carts of things to buy, looking at different people, following knights with her eyes as they passed by.

well...this is awkward

Who: Marian, Caleb, and Alyssa
Where: The campgrounds
When: morning

The first thing that Marian noticed when she woke up was that she was delightfully and comfortably warm. The kind of warm that came with being curled up close to someone else and as she shifted she realized that yes, she was. It should have alarmed her, but she thought nothing of it as she snuggled closer, arm around the stomach of whoever was in bed with her. Her first thought was Ellis, but that passed as she woke up more. No, not him. That wasn’t right. She’d remember more of that. Sleep was slipping away and the euphoria was going with it as Marian’s eyes were blinking more, taking in the bare shoulder she had her head rested against and more than that the long hair of the woman curled on his other side. She blinked a few more times, pushing up more as the blanket draped across her fell down and she realized she wasn’t wearing nearly enough clothes to be in bed with strangers. Because that’s what they were, strangers. “Oh my god.” It came out louder than it should have, her surroundings beyond needing to pull up the blanket to cover herself and the two people with her, the only thing she could really register.

this is not where I fell asleep )
