I don't think there's a lot of furniture or anything? and honestly the quicker we can get it done the better because those assholes kicked her out.

It shouldn’t be cold enough for the roads to freeze overnight but keep in mind that if temps drop below 32 degrees F that roads and cars can ice up. Even if temps don’t get that cold make sure you take the time to warm up older cars before you drive them and don’t shotgun the gas on new cars until the cold engine light goes off.

Hi. I am Audrey, though I typically go by Aud. I am introducing myself since I will be a new face at The SecondHand Bookstore.

[The day after Alex moves in. Left on the counter of the repair shop before it opens, with a small muffin and a hot, black coffee, both from the coffee shop. This sort of thing happens pretty much every day Alex works a morning shift at the comic store:]

The arcade, as a rule, was open later than most anything downtown. The owner wasn't local, and he really didn't care how the thing was run, not as long as it was making money. The place didn't open until after noon most days, and it closed late, making it a regular haunt of the town's younger adults. But tonight was special. Tonight it was 10 pm, and all the lights inside were turned off. The games still operated, neon casting the otherwise dark space in a bright-bubblegum glow that still maintained clusters of shadows and utter darkness.

The games were all free for the evening, and the PlayStation and X-Box, situated against the back wall and across from a pair of couches, were also free to use. There was a cooler in the back hall, next to the bathroom, with drinks, and the music that played through the arcade speakers was loud and fun, adding more conversational privacy to the already dark space.

And it went without saying that no one was policing anything happening within. Even the local sheriff was understood to be looking away for the night, thanks to anonymously greased palms.

At about 2:45 a.m. the night after Mal installs the cameras at Alex's trailer, this unholy abomination bursts through the door, for all the world like, well, she's taking the stage on Broadway. She elaborately deposits a few little trinkets in the same spot she has left everything else that week, then somehow turns a neat double-cartwheel down the cramped center walkway of the trailer. She looks directly into the camera above Alex's bed, gives it a wink and a wave, and then, it's not the camera that fuzzes with static, but sort of reality itself, blurring for just a moment.

And then it's just Alex standing there, looking confused and upset as he sees the pile on the counter has grown larger. He picks through it for a moment, body language defeated, and then heads out the door, already grabbing a cigarette out of the pack he pulls from his pocket.]
