Vance trudged home, sighing. He was trudging home slowly, tired after an evening working as a waiter. He had spent all evening at his job, and despite rude people, managed to rack up tips, and survive. He had managed to score the job the second day he had been here and had been here just four days, so... well, it would work out. With the money he had gotten while traveling, and what he was scoring here, he had enough to afford his small studio apartment, even after registering for classes.
He groaned as he rubbed the back of his neck, his senses out and aware as he walked along. He had no wish to be jumped as he had been a couple of times and his telekinesis and still weak telepathy made sure he would not, right now, anyway.
He was wearing sweatclothes with a long jacket and gloves, for the night was cold and he was tired.
He hoped the money would keep being good enough to keep him in cheap food, and his cheap room. All he knew right now was he needed sleep, and some good luck tomorrow in class. He had a test, and was ready for it, but he felt like he might fall asleep in class again, and that would just not help his cause at all.
He kept walking, and breathing, in the cold night.
