WHAT: It is Groundhog Day. Susan is amused by Americans and just has to express it.

Susan had settled in quite easily in this year. It was full of such playfulness and fun distractions. Susan couldn't remember the last time she'd been on Earth where there wasn't work to be done or some random impending apocalypse that had to be corrected. So, she was taking this opportunity to enjoy herself since whatever had brought her here was so fogged over that she couldn't find it no matter how hard she tried. So, instead of trying, she'd just counted this as a vacation.

It was wonderful that she had shown up when she had. Susan loved holidays, and holidays with ridiculous origins and absolutely no real point were that much better than regular holidays. Groundhog Day was one of the ones that ranked on the top of her 'pointless' list right before Columbus Day and right after April Fool's Day. But still, it was delightful listening to all the reports on whether or not Punxsutawney Phil had seen his shadow.

"Wonderful place, isn't it?" Susan asked a random person on the street corner she'd stopped on, popping the lollipop she was sucking on briefly back into her mouth before popping it back out and continuing. "All the activity, all the life, all that potential."

When: January 23, Afternoon-ish
Where: Venice Beach
What: You aren't alone anymore.

Romana took her shoes off to walk in edge of the waves as they rolled in. She could only think of how funny she looked still in her wartime clothes. Not many women carried heavy boots as they walked the beach though it did seem a few had on rolled up cargo pants and tank-tops with jackets tied 'round their waist. Doctor where are you? she thought projecting it loud enough so she thought he could here. Say something, anything... please. she continued to project out for him trying to be as loud as she could in the emptiness of the Time lord psychic connection. She could hear a bit of an echo that was dulled by a bit of background noise. There must be other psychic beings around. Doctor help me. She sent out one last time. No matter how much they changed that was one request she thought he couldn't ignore.

The Doctor’s mousy brown hair was more ruffled up from the night wind. His long brown jacket was dancing in the wind. It wasn’t cold, but, it was LA night heat. There was an ugly moon that people barely could see through the polluted clouds. Rather, the smell was still bothering the Doctor’s senses.

The Doctor smiled to Rose and gave her a wink. “Dashing look as ever, Rose!” He pulled his phone from his ear. “Hiya, I think I don’t need this.” He flip his mobile phone in the air and pocketed in his jacket’s pocket.
