We had harvest festivals back home, but nothing quite like Halloween. Would someone care to explain it? I quite enjoy hearing what different people have to say about it.

I finally got the pumpkins at the bookstore just right. Finicky bit of spellwork, but if anyone wants to have a conversation with a jack-o-lantern, they should manage now.

So, I've gotten really, really good at making pies lately, and might have overdone it. A little. Maybe.

They're not as impressive as an old friend of mine would have grown, but I seem to have more tomatoes than even I can cook. Anyone want any? Legolas? Ignis? Assorted local teenagers? Anyone? I hate to see food go to waste, though I suppose I can learn how to pickle or preserve them. Tomato jam, maybe.

I thought I was agreeing to a vacation with my wife after all of that. She's not going to be happy if I'm not home.

Today the sun was out. It felt so nice to walk beneath it and the canopy of trees. Warm. Comforting. I've always liked the Spring, I suppose that's our nature.

I couldn't ask for more.
