I know there have been some new arrivals. I thought I'd mention that I offer a class at the youth center on pop culture in the 1950's. There's always room for more participants if you're interested.

So I was thinking--which apparently happens a lot at night when I’m in a new country by myself and enjoying the beauty of Ireland. But anyway, I’m totally a newbie vampire and I know Vicki is as well and I’m sure there are probably others of us who aren’t super duper old here and I was thinking you know what would be fun and educational?

Vampire meetings!

Not to be confused with the class thing that Rebekah does because you can’t really ask or discuss during that class the best places to compel your way into for bloodbags or tips on how to control your bloodlust or a billion other questions that I’m sure some of us have.

Plus there can be story telling. Who doesn’t like telling stories? I mean, really, some of you love to go on and on and on about your accomplishments.

There could be cookies! Store bought. I'm not baking.

So, I've seen a lot of stuff the past day or so that seems to be having a go at vampires and all, and I figured I should say something to you guys. Because you know what? Not all of us think like that. And I'm a ghost who was killed by a vampire. And I still want to say: Yay to vampires. Well, you lot anyway. Because you're good people, and part of this weird little community we have here and I don't think people say that to you enough.

Hal, if you try to argue with me on this, I will take your tea and pour it over your head. Love you!

Well then. It's good to see that no matter where we go, prejudice will never fully die. Race, gender, religion, and species. There will always be one person in a crowd.

After a few days' consideration, I think that went pretty well.

Just in case you didn't see Caroline's Save The Date, tomorrow there'll be a sock hop at the center from 6 - 10. It's supposed to serve as a preview of some of what you might learn in my class. Even if you won't be attending the class, feel free to show up for the dance. 50's clothing is encouraged.

Along with my class, I was going to throw a sock hop. I was wondering if I could use the center. It would be Friday the 9th from 6 - 10. Caroline is helping me with the details. She seems to be a natural at this.

There's going to be an amazing sock hop dance on August 9th from 6-10pm. Everyone is welcome and there will be more details later on, but who doesn't like dancing to old records with some punch and cookies as refreshment? Start getting your poodle skirts ready!

I feel like there should be a showing of Grease that week too. Because who doesn't love Grease?

So, does anyone want to help me plan a party? Fifties theme, sock hop. I'm not the greatest at planning stuff like this. I can't pay much, but I will compensate.

All of the other teachers seem to be putting their class out there, so I thought I'd spread the word on mine. I'm currently teaching a class centered on pop culture in the 1950's. Anyone is welcome, even people who have lived through the decade like me.

Once this little nightmare is over I'm drinking till I'm numb again.

The nightmares are not going away, Ghostface is even in my dreams the rare times I can sleep. Not in the mood for the lectures I know I coming, I just want the pain to go away long enough that I can sleep.

The sooner the stupid seal gives back my beer the better it will be.

Since so many people seem to enjoy pizza and that's still around, I think I'd like to get people together to eat pizza and watch movies that don't have any of us in them. The funnier the better. Educate me in the classics. Is Wednesday good for everyone?

Okay so since it was actually kind of a hit when I mentioned it, I'll be a bit more serious this time. Who's actually into this pop culture class idea? And who wants what decade? Dibs on the 90s! Just saying. And I think it was Lydia ... or was it Lois... SOMEBODY mentioned we should start with the most recent stuff and work backwards which kind of makes sense, I think. Objections?

If you want to teach this stuff to our fellow displaced, come grab a decade and start putting your stuff together! I'll leave your lesson planning up to you guys :P This is gonna be the best class EVER! I'm so ridiculously excited! H.G., you should join in the fun at some point, just saying.

(ETA) Don't worry if someone went for "your" decade, we can definitely have more than one person covering one decade. Just, y'know, collaborate and make sure you aren't doing the same stuff!

(ETA2) This doesn't have to be confined to the 1900s, guys, I just figure they're a good place to start!

Have you been keeping up with your physical therapy?

Quite disappointed at the moment. I just graded my first quiz and the majority of the students bombed it, or copied off each other thus bombing it. Only a few students actually studied and put forth any effort. Honestly, education isn't free so one really should put in the effort otherwise it is a waste of money.

Hey, are you doing the 4th of July thing at Felicia's? I was thinking about stopping by after dark.
