FRIDAY! GUESTS!

Sturgis had never been very good at surprises, but he was an excellent secret-keeper. Even when the secret was one of the most exciting of his life. It was later on in the afternoon of what had supposed to have just been an engagement party, and now that they were stuffed with waffles, bacon, and good cheer, he finally got to spend a moment alone with his wife. Wife!

Surprise!

How could he feel so different, but entirely the same? He was a husband, now, but it felt like not a thing between him and Nellie had changed. Like nothing, but then everything---! It was a strange, wonderful, daunting, excellent feeling, and Sturgis was glad that she had pulled him away from the gathering. His thoughts were running wild, with how bewildering the whole day had been.

He gripped her hand tightly as they descended the stairs toward the small pool that had frozen over. The sounds of the party softened, and the sounds of nature filtered between their breath and footsteps. Sturgis looked down at Nellie, his love, his bride, his wife, and let go of her hand only to run his palms up and down her arms. He knew there were warming spells, but...

"Are you cold?" he asked, shoulders already shrugging to remove his jacket.

Liz

Otto has been waiting on his couch for the sound of the tumblers of his front door to be unlocked, and to see Liz to come strolling in through the door as she did almost every night. Mellie, the dog they had officially adopted over a month ago after she had followed them back to his place, had even been sitting expectantly by the door for the blonde to walk in and greet her. Otto hadn't paid any mind to her whining, since it wasn't anything new for her to be anxious for Liz's arrival, but something about the way the dog kept pacing in front of the door made Otto wonder if maybe she knew something that he didn't. It wasn't until he glanced over at the clock, noticing the late hour, did he begin to wonder whether or not he should owl her.

Unfortunately, just as he was getting out his ink and quill, he heard something tapping on his window. Brows furrowed as he approached the window, letting the familiar owl inside so he could remove the rolled parchment from its foot and read Florean's familiar scrawl. There wasn't much written on the parchment, but the only thing that stood out to Otto were 4 words:

Liz is at Mungo's.

The parchment dropped from his hands, and he grabbed for his wand so that he could apparate to the front steps of the hospital, surprised he didn't splinch himself in the process. He approached the front desk, trying to find out more about where she was, but they had given him a hard time because he wasn't family. Otto, with his nerves already frazzled, ran a hand down his face in an attempt to remain calm, and tried explaining that her father had owled him, and that he was her boyfriend. That didn't seem to matter much to the elderly nurse behind the counter. Otto ground his teeth, tempted to ask if she needed to be admitted for the broom she had lodged up her ass when Florean appeared. He didn't say anything about what had happened to land her in the hospital - actually, he didn't say much at all as he lead him to the curtain Liz was behind. He explained how now that Otto was there, he was going to go and fill out some paper work for Liz, and placed a hand on Otto's shoulder before walking off.

Otto took in a deep breath through his nose, exhaling slowly before he reached out to draw the curtain back. Seeing Liz in a hospital bed, regardless of why she was there, made his stomach twist uncomfortably. He took a seat in the chair next to her bed, which he assumed her father had been sitting in earlier, leaning forward so that he could take one of her hands into both of his.

"Hey baby," he greeted softly, unable to hide the look of concern on his face. "How are you feeling?"

BIGGEST PARTY EVER!

He had to hand it to Adian; when his friend said he was going to throw the biggest party ever, he certainly meant it. Louis was quite sure that he didn't know half of the people there, most of them one or two or perhaps six degrees of separation from him. He didn't mind it, he constantly had a drink in his hand, and nowadays it felt quite necessary. Louis could not deny that he enjoyed the attention, and his cheeks were beginning to hurt from smiling too much for the camera. Maybe it was because he had not smiled too much in recent weeks, but it felt good to do so when so many times the thought that he'd never smile again had drifted through his mind.

Snatching a particularly pink and fizzy bottle off the table, Louis twisted and moved through the crowd on the tips of his toes. There was of course a very important person section of couches set up in the best corner of the flat, and only if you were deemed worthy were you allowed to pass through the shimmering wards. Those worthy of such titles included the birthday boy himself, the best friend of the birthday boy, the girlfriend of the birthday boy, and a few other handful like a sister, close friends, and a quidditch player that they owned the jersey of. It was a very elite group.

Passing through the wards sent a warm sensation through his body and he plopped down next to Penelope, presenting her with the fizzy pink drink.

"I heard it tastes like rainbows," he said with a smile, kicking his feet up. Louis put his own drink out for a cheers before putting it to his lips.

ooc: Biggest party ever!! Wear green or get donkey ears and speak in limericks all night THE GREATEST SHAME. Try to have some degree of separation to the boys, but every little connection counts lmao. Happy Early St. Patrick's Day!!!

Liz!

Otto Bagman had always thought himself to be the kind of man who did the right thing. He prided himself on having a good head on his shoulders, and had never wanted to hurt anyone who didn’t truly deserve to be hurt.

He wasn’t too sure what he was anymore. He knew that he was a person who made mistakes, and that his actions had caused someone to get hurt, but he felt even worse about how he felt about everything he had done. There were so many conflicting emotions messing with his head, and until he had things straightened out, he thought it best to keep his distance from the person who kept invading his thoughts. He wasn’t sure how long it was going to take, but it had already been two weeks and he wasn’t finding it any easier to turn down invitations to gatherings he knew Liz would be at. He had even taken on some overtime work in his department, just to keep his mind occupied.

The problem was that it wasn’t working. Nothing he tried was working, because he felt as though something was missing in his life.

Someone was missing in his life, and it became obvious that he’d never be able to feel normal until he talked to her. He needed to see her, and he needed to tell her how he felt, because if he didn’t, all those suppressed emotions were going to eat him alive. He wasn’t sure if this was what was best for her, but there was only one way to find out.

Now he just needed to work up the courage to knock on her door. He hadn’t been to her place since they had worked together, back before things had become…unclear between them.

“Just…knock…”

He took in a deep breath, shaking out his hand as though he were warming it up. He took a step closer to the door, swallowed thickly, and then finally let his knuckles rap against the door. He took a step back, lifting a hand to push some of his dark hair out of his face, feeling as nervous as a first year. He stared down at his sneakers, his hands shoving into the pockets of his sweatshirt. When the door finally opened, his coffee colored eyes lifted to look at her. She looked surprised.

“Hey,” he started, lamely, lifting a hand to scratch at the back of his neck. “I um…I know it’s late, and I probably should have owled you or something, but…”

He trailed off, his hand dropping down to his side. “I just…needed to talk to you.”

MARISSA

Liz's knees bounced as she sat on the high stool, spinning idly around, and around, and around. The squeaky white room of the Ministry was nearly blinding, but she supposed it made sense to be void of distractions when practicing spells and charms that could potentially blow the whole building up. Biting her thumb, she stared over at Marissa, who seemed rather preoccupied with her wand and a large pineapple.

She'd been hanging around the ministry a lot these days...for work, because she was officially one of the favorite go-to photographers for Ministry posters, brochures, events...boring shit that Liz did because it paid well and she couldn't get much else. There was also the fact that Otto seemed to know ever crick and corner of this place that was good for a quick snog. Liz winced at the crack of her nail between her teeth and began to spin around again.

Her stress levels were high. Marissa needed to figure out what the hell she wanted to do with that pineapple so that they could go to lunch and she could spill her guts.

"You know a bit about being a cheater, right?"

Or, she could spill out her deepest concerns and worries like a bloody goon. Liz blanched, wanting to punch herself in the face. "I mean, not that---I'm just saying----I don't know what I'm saying, I'm an idiot, ignore me, forget I said anything. Can we make piña coladas?"

OPEN!

Glenda hadn't a wisp of worry all day, and was it funny to think that one of the most relaxing days she'd experienced in her recent years was her own wedding day. They were blessed, she and Vinny, with friends and family that could take time out of their busy schedules to drop by the house for a lax celebration in the fields behind their house. She hadn't wanted to make a huge fuss out of anything, opting for simple refillable plates and a relaxed atmosphere, and whether guests decided to stay eight minutes or eight hours she was more than thrilled to welcome an old or familiar face.

She just, to put it simply, wanted to remember today as enjoyable and happy. And she hoped that everyone else would feel that way too.

When whispers of a of pick-up quidditch game began to run through the field, Glenda had encouraged Vinny and Tristan to go along. After all, with this many professional quidditch players popping in and out all day, it would've practically been sacrilege to not partake. Their departure, more importantly, gave Gleny a bit of necessary alone time, letting her mind, peacefully, wander to Gideon...

The shriek of happy child brought Glenda back to the present, and it was with surprise that she realized the sun had moved significantly in the sky and her two boys were returning to her with glints in their eyes and pride in their smiles.

"Hello, sir," Glenda greeted her six-year-old son with open arms. Instead of crashing into her, he tumbled to the ground arms wide and began to babble about how he was destined to be the next great quidditch star so he would really appreciate something a bit better than a training broom. Her eyebrows rose, and withholding a laugh, she pressed her lips together as she looked at Vinny from her perched seat on the ground.

"What do you think about that Vinny?" she asked aloud, most amused.
