It seems that Skwisgaar has joined the fluctuating but ever-present group of resident parental units who have been at the house since Soren got back. It doesn't take long for this to be common knowledge, since the livingroom has become the center of everything, Miniver and Marnie having moved things around and set it up so all four kids could sleep in there.
Sable's not quite her usual on-the-ball self -- as evidenced by how she's spent the past two days wearing pyjama pants and one of Soren's shirts... and all right there's a small fluffy stuffed sheep involved as well. She's at least recovered enough from her own personal crises to have the presence of mind to put it down before going over to Skwisgaar.

The ex-hippie is in a dangerous mood tonight. He's in one of those places where his brain chemistry drives him sometimes -- not the one where he locks himself in a dark room and cries for three days, but the one where he doesn't sleep for equally as long, and can't sit still for more than a few minutes at a time.
Over the years, Pickles has helped him learn to manage his mental bipolar issues without medication, but every so often he ends up doing one of those things he really shouldn't... and tonight, it's drinking while manic. It obliterates his judgement while making it impossible for him to actually feel when he's had enough! This is a good combination, right?
ESPECIALLY in the Skwigelf house, right?
He hasn't actually booby-trapped the house or painted Skwisgaar's room or put superglue on the toilet seats or anything YET. For now, he's just lurking around with a slightly mad glint in his eyes, twitchy, trying to decide on something to focus all this massive amount of energy on before he has to start setting shit on fire just so he can put it out... |

It had taken some convincing from Sable, but Miniver had finally really sat down and read through the letter from his younger self, and let his daughter play him the recording of his own child-self reading aloud to Skwisgaar.
He had then given the matter some good, hard thinking, and gone and gotten drunk.
He's slightly more sober now than he has been for the past couple of days, and has had a little sense talked into him by someone. Either that or they turned him in the direction of Skwisgaar's room and told him to walk. Either one would produce approximately the same results.

Teja was used to Miniver's general tales of fancy, so when he realized that Miniver had turned into a young boy, he knew what to do. He was luckily able to find the mostly-completed suit of armor that he was making for Nathan - though it was bare of scrollwork that it would later have - and fit into it without a problem. He walked into the kitchen, grabbed the bag of marshmallows that had MINIVER'S!!! written on a tag on it, and ripped off the tag, before walking to Pickles' room.
He entered as quietly as possible with the steel covering him, and knocked on the wall three times. "I am looking for the King's steward, is he here?" His voice was low and was trained to be a proper mid-Atlantic accent, and was quite friendly. He sounded quite a bit like a baritone Clark Gable, though he looked nothing like that. His shoulder-length fire engine red hair streamed down and barely brushed the steel chest plate, and he turned on the light to look around. "Miniver, are you here?"
He held up the marshmallows. "I've told the King and Queen that you are here, if that's alright. They're on vacation right now, and I'm here to guard the palace while they're away. They said they'd like to meet the brave little knight that appeared in their castle." |

With one of Soren's weddings approaching quickly - the one that Skwisgaar had helped to plan and get set up - the older man needed to finalize certain things with his son. He knew that Soren only deserved the best, especially when it came to a wedding involving his life long best friend.
Skwisgaar had already had the food sent for and delivered to him. He set it out on the dining table, hoping that his son didn't mind native dishes. He hadn't figured that much out, himself - and it was likely that even if he had, he'd have forgotten it. Once the lunch was set out, he went back to his chair and sat down with a guitar, picking away at several trains of musical thought at once. He had been working on two of the songs he was currently playing specifically for Soren's weddings, and the third was just one that worked to make the other two sound halfway decent when played together. |

Miniver's spent the past few days in almost perpetual motion -- moving from house to house, wandering aimlessly, writing down half-finished poems he's never touch again... Then the burst of energy seemed to run out abruptly in a way that had a lot to do with him taking half a bottle of allergy pills a day or so. So here he is, in the common room of Mordhaus, flipping channels on one of the TVs just because he likes the little electronic buzz-ping-hiss sound he's noticed the TV doing every time it goes on or off or changes channels. |

It started with Teja. That was really all anyone needed to know. He shot Miniver with a super soaker filled with blood, and Miniver retaliated. It was then that Teja started recruiting. Somehow, word got spread fast as wildfire, and the whole place became divided. It was a battle of paintball guns versus blood weapons. The sides were constantly shifting, and people kept switching sides.
The current standing was this, as the main forces:
Blood: Teja, Toki, Nathan, and Torii
Paint: Miniver, the Skwisgaars, and Pickles.
Things could change at any moment, considering that Soren and Cassidy were called up, and Cass called up Henn and Sable. Even 359, Offdensen and Sadako were invited to join in.
Things were getting pretty messy in the huge castle. Walls and ceilings were dabbled with paint and blood. The place looked like a warzone of impressionist artists.

Miniver had been thinking about things for a while now. He had been thinking HARD, and really, really thinking, not just dreaming, not just wishing. Finally, he had come to a decision, knowing it might not be the last time he tried this, but hoping it could all end now...
He dragged his feet down the hallway towards one of the small studios where Skwisgaar was playing. He stood for a long time outside the door smoking nervously before stamping out his cigarette on the stone floor and going in. He quietly sent off the roadie working audio, and for a while longer, he just watched through the glass as Skwisgaar played on, oblivious to all else.
Finally, he flicked the speaker on.
"Skwisgaar." He paused to take a breath, to keep his voice and his resolve steady.

Skwisgaar was feeling much better after Sadako had been hired on as the one-woman medical team. In fact, he'd been feeling better than he ever HAD felt in his admittedly short memory. He even agreed to play in Dethklok, at least until a younger, more chronologically suited him came around to take his rightful place. As it was, he was on his way from the kitchen to the main hall, humming quietly to himself, his fingers twitching out of muscle memory. He walked past the main staircase, and looked to the main entrance, smiling to himself. He had somehow managed to somewhat ignore the fact that Nathan and Toki had gone clear out of their minds about weddings or whatever. it didn't involve him, and therefore, it wasn't important. |

Skwisgaar was up early. Or up still. One could never really tell with the guitarist, who'd ushered Henrietta out the door only an hour previous. He had a rather fun night with the bartender-slash-law student, and had quite literally lost track of the time. Birds were chirping, the sun was up, and he had yet to even see his bedroom that night. He went up the stairs and saw a note tacked to his door in his own handwriting and read it - it was in Swedish, so it was a good giveaway that the Younger had written it.
And then he rolled his eyes. Lulu was expected to come over at any moment and he was still awake. He raked a hand through his hair, put in another set of contacts and wandered down to the main room, where the redhead and his husband had apparently crashed for the night.
He solemnly ushered them off to bed and had the place to himself. He had one of the roadies light up the fire and turn on the TV, and he started idly practicing while he waited for Lulu to come.
Once she did, she'd be brought in by a roadie and things would be easy. |
