Toki had realized only a couple minutes previous to his rushed state of putting on his coat and shuffling Miniver to the car so the hippie could drive that Teja had been reborn. He was fidgeting with his collar and his sleeves. Soren said he'd picked up Teja and was looking after him, and that made Toki a little more pleased with the situation. Soren was above and beyond a kind heart.
Teja in the meanwhile, was about a year and a half old in appearance. He had a netbook nearby so he could easily communicate without his unfamiliar oral palate giving him issue. He was only slightly in pain - growing pains of aging approximately four and a half years a day - but otherwise was quite himself. He remembered everything up until the point of his death. He'd eaten, quite plentifully and morbidly, in fact, but he was constantly and had food nearby that he snacked on idly as he read a book that he'd found in the library. He finally had picked up one of Soren's books. He was thankful for Soren's hospitality and looking in on him occasionally. He wasn't yet aware that his biological father was about to show up. |

Teja was used to Miniver's general tales of fancy, so when he realized that Miniver had turned into a young boy, he knew what to do. He was luckily able to find the mostly-completed suit of armor that he was making for Nathan - though it was bare of scrollwork that it would later have - and fit into it without a problem. He walked into the kitchen, grabbed the bag of marshmallows that had MINIVER'S!!! written on a tag on it, and ripped off the tag, before walking to Pickles' room.
He entered as quietly as possible with the steel covering him, and knocked on the wall three times. "I am looking for the King's steward, is he here?" His voice was low and was trained to be a proper mid-Atlantic accent, and was quite friendly. He sounded quite a bit like a baritone Clark Gable, though he looked nothing like that. His shoulder-length fire engine red hair streamed down and barely brushed the steel chest plate, and he turned on the light to look around. "Miniver, are you here?"
He held up the marshmallows. "I've told the King and Queen that you are here, if that's alright. They're on vacation right now, and I'm here to guard the palace while they're away. They said they'd like to meet the brave little knight that appeared in their castle." |

In the afternoon, Teja had come down during his break to deliver a message to the female roadie personally. He'd chosen the weapons - the kukri. He liked his knives, and the kukri was really just an elongated, curved knife. He was rather proud of his decision, and of his new purchase of a kurki just for the occasion. Knives, he felt, were the most personal of weapons. They made you HAVE to get close to the target, and the skill in using them effectively was a hard won thing.
That night, he dressed in his standard sleeveless shirt and loose black pants, deciding to forgo boots. He was more stable in bare feet, anyway. He waited in the courtyard, laying down on a bench with his legs to either side, examining his blade in the moonlight. He could hear the wolves in the distance, which sent a shiver up his spine. There was something ominous in the air that night, a tenseness all around Mordhaus, as if the entire staff, band, and family were bracing for a heavy storm, or something worse. Even the wolves must have felt it, thought Teja. He idly wondered what the reason could be as he waited for 359 to show up. |
