Ben, I just had a conversation with Indiana Jones.

BEN. INDIANA JONES.

Hey, Pete. Guess what?

I think he lives on my floor.

I could bump into him.

If I can make it through the throng of girls that'll be following him around.

Good luck on that last part.

No, really. Good luck. The guy'll be lucky if he can even find space to breathe at this point.

I'd say I have the upward angle covered, but Carol might claim that airspace.

So. Wow. This place really is Candyland.

I'd say just stick to the bar thing. Considering the day he's having, he'll be down there in no time, and you can lend your sympathetic ear. And then ask him to autograph your shirt -- not your lacy unmentionables. Keep it classy, Ben.

Hey, in the been there, done that, I'm willing to pay for his drinks for the night. Because not everyone can be as lucky as us and be all set and buzzed after just one drink.

Well, those lacy unmentionables... you know how small they can be. Only good for one signature and I'd really want Han's and Indy's signature on the same item. Going to have to go more creative than a shirt though. Because a shirt can go missing from my closet far too easily.

Yeah, yeah. Parkers are lightweights, but look at the bright side! Less money spent when you do want to get drunk. Which is, y'know, rare. Well, for me. There's a myriad of equally stupid coping mechanisms that I love more.

Is this where I talk you out of tattoos?

Except Kaine and his tequilas. Or that's the Parker talking big thing. Oh, hey, in case you haven't figured it out yet, anything over two beers and you puke your guts out. It's not pretty. You're welcome. So, yeah, punching out criminals much better coping than the drinking.

Awwww, but I was going to try and reclaim my non-existent California resident status by getting a tramp stamp. You life ruiner you.

Hypothetical tequilas. I'm not actually sure what he got up to short of what news broke out about Houston getting their own spidery guy. I suspect BBQ dining was part of it, too. Maybe mechanical bulls. Also all the other stereotypes because that is how we Parkerses roll.

How 'bout this? You can get a tattoo if you stop dying your hair. That way people just need to tell us to take our shirts off if they need to tell us apart. Foolproof.

Sad thing? We'd totally rock the mechanical bull. He'd be their god. God of mechanical bull riding. He's so popular they make him wear the cowboy boots and hat while swinging around the city. Because he's that cool.

I see your evil plan. You're just looking for any excuse to take your shirt off. Not that I'm seeing any fault in this plan. Other than all those pesky places that deny service in the absence of shirts.

Rock that mechanical bull with no hands, you mean. They'd speak of him in legend and myth. Unless he took a shot and got thrown off in two seconds. That'd kill that dream real fast.

Hey, if the werewolves in Twilight can live shirtless, then the Spider-Men from Queens can do it, too. I'm just sayin'. We're never gonna get a following unless we change our marketability.

The shot coming back up would kill it quicker. OR make them speak of him in legend and myth for a whole other reason.

I don't know. I think what they're really going for is the cut-off jeans. Hubba hubba. Pfft, we had a following. It just wasn't favorable. And somehow I don't think JJJ would like shirtless Spider-Men any better than clothed ones.

Was about high noon, I reckon, when this stranger rolled into town. Tumble weeds were a-blowin'. Brad Paisley was playin' on the jukebox. Honey Boo Boo was on the TV, 'cause the remote stopped workin' and it was a pain to switch the channel otherwise.

He didn't give his name, this wild-eyed unknown. Just strolled up to the bar, took a shot, got on that mechanical bull with purpose...

And two seconds later, he spewed like Old Faithful. We never did get his name, but his legend lives on in fable and myth. We call him... Chunks.

Oh, hey. Speaking of Triple J -- actually, are you sitting?

I'll give you my Indiana Jones signed shirt if that's the first thing you call him if he comes through. You know, after all the flailing. I will allow flailing. I wouldn't deny him the glory of Parker flailing. Especially in stereo.

Depends? Sitting like a normal person or sitting spider-style?

Yeah, but does it work if it's a nickname from a made-up story? I feel like the magic gets lost unless this actually happened to him. And if it did, then, whoa, I just developed some clairvoyant powers.

Uh. Good question. Not liable to go splat if something I say makes your brain leak out your ear?

That's stopped you before? Whether it's a completely clueless look or shock about how you heard about that, it'd be priceless. And no stealing powers there, Pete. Especially one that gives headaches. We get enough of those on our own.

Sitting pretty. You haven't made me go splat yet, so go with the brain melting.

Point taken. We'll see. If Kaine shows up, and I don't completely forget to call him Chunks because KAINE SHOWED UP.

Okay, good. So, JJJ is mayor now. Process that one and then I'll tell you the rest.

Hey, I did give you a flailing buffer zone. Also, bet's off if it's grr arg, I'm-going-to-get-you-and-your-little-dog-too-Reilly Kaine as I'll be too busy web-slinging it out of here.

Mayor? Really? Mayor? Was it a really slow year? Did the Bugle buy out the city? Or was this a ploy so he could issue real warrants for our arrest and not just tossing rewards all over the place?

You know, now you got me scared about the rest. Because if that's the easy bit to stomach, I feel like you've got a sledgehammer waiting for me. Wait, wait. Let me guess. JJJ has really been Osborn all this time? Surprise!

Yeah, well, fingers crossed for mostly peaceful Kaine who actually came to say goodbye to me the last time around. We like him. He's good people.

It's NYC, Ben. If the zaniest, loudest guy around with the most questionable haircut doesn't get elected, the city's broken.

Aaaand nope. Jameson's family now. Cousin, actually. By marriage.

He's always been good people deep down. Just fell off the wagon for a bit. Happens to the best of us. Not that I'm saying I wouldn't love to see the mostly peaceful, goodbye giving Kaine. That does sound better than let-me-say-hi-with-a-punch Kaine.

Oh, well, if he got a questionable haircut to go long with the mustache, then by all means, that makes perfect sense.

......

Cousin...? By marriage...? Do I even want to know the other half of the marriage?

Hear that, Tesseract? We want the NICE(R) Kaine. Please and thank you. With a cherry on top.

That'll probably backfire.

Anyhoo, yeah. Cousin. Aunt May and his pops.

You just need to get Pepper to post it. She's got the magic touch. Complete proof will come when Sean Connery James Bond shows up next.

Aunt May remarried? Wow... um... good for her? Well, that'll make family gatherings even more awkward than normal.

Wow. Yup, going to be stuck on wow for awhile.

Hey, I'm still getting used to the whole actress, she didn't really die thing. If she's happy, I'm glad. Really, I am. That's wonderful that she found someone new to share her life with.

But still, wow.
