Well... okay, then...
From the pages of DV8, an edgy spin-off of Gen 13 (hey, it's almost Halloween, things should be getting scary), some early work by Warren Ellis. Here, our anti-heroes try to buy some drinks.

Ultimate Armor Wars #1
It's an article of faith on SD that everyone in the Ultimate Universe is a dick except Peter. It's untrue, of course; the UFF are all, if anything, kinder than their mainstream counterparts, and most of the X-Men are perfectly decent people. Then there's Ultimate Tony Stark.

There were a few things about today's Ultimate Armor Wars that jumped out at me that I thought I'd share.

Of course he's single
And to continue with the Martial Arts week with another Batman post to exemplify my obsession. Now this post proved to quite challenging, as I felt the brawl in this story automatically belonged to this week, kind of, but the story had so many great moments and scenes to choose from while trying not to cross the posting limits. In the end I decided to stick with the fight scene in the beginning and the ending scene, which actually refers to said fight. What is this story I'm writing about? A masterpiece called Batman/Planetary: Night on Earth by Warren Ellis/John Cassaday.

Pete Wisdom and Kitty Pryde: Romance and socio-politics whilst kicking people in the face
I wish this pairing had lasted longer.

I don't want it back. There's no point trying to recapture past glories, but, damn, did Kitty and Pete sparkle for a while there.

And I just love this sequence from Excalibur #102.

Into the Blue
The Real First Blue Lantern (not St. Walker!)

It occurred to me that I've seen a Blue Lantern before, one who looks a little bit like this guy...

One Perfect Moment (times three): The Authority
OK, I'm very late to the party, but I feel utterly justified in posting this (and making it so big) because, unless I'm mistaken, no one has posted any Authority bits yet. My opinion of Warren Ellis' work, particularly some of his later stuff, is mixed, but I think that his original Authority run with Bryan Hitch has him at the top of his game, and each of the three arcs has a Perfect Moment. (Big images follow. Apologies in advance for poor image quality and/or any fubars; first time posting this sort of thing to IJ.)

WEEK OF DOOM: Tiger, Tiger.
One more Doom 2099 post to go after this. Then no more WEEK OF DOOM. But I'm ending it on a high note. The lead-up story to Doom 2099 #25. Doom is looking for clues to his missing time and finds a big piece. However, he runs into an old foe, Tiger Wylde.

From Doom 2099 #22-24. 16 Scans total. Dial-Uppers BEWARE!

Ah, the good old days...
I have nothing to contribute to either Porn Week or Doom Week. My Ode to Emplate Post continues to be building slowly, as it my Jonothon Starsmore is a Dick to Women post.

So instead of any of that, I bring you three pages from DV8 #1 (Warren Ellis and Humberto Ramos).

And now, once again shall I do epic battle with the tags.

WEEK OF DOOM: Doom 2099 teaches the "masters" of the world a lesson.
Greetings True Believers! Here is another post in the honor of the Lion of Latveria! These scans are from Doom 2099 #30. Doom has conquered America and has called the heads of the Megacorps (the true powers that be in the future) to him. He will inform them that they live in a different world now.
