Well... okay, then...
From the pages of DV8, an edgy spin-off of Gen 13 (hey, it's almost Halloween, things should be getting scary), some early work by Warren Ellis. Here, our anti-heroes try to buy some drinks.

Get it, the name of the bar is Clark's because that's Superman's name and the C is in a little diamond, like the Superman S... it's funny! In theory!

Something of a weird scene, all told. The reaction is less "I can't believe they did that!" than "I can't believe they bothered to do that." Truth be told, I wouldn't be thrilled to see a scene where the Deviants (ugh) pull one over the stodgy old heroes because they're so young and hip, but it's still a bit weird to see Ellis settling for some Family Guy type "see these characters? They exist!" 'humor'. Maybe he just wanted to make the legal department earn their keep.

In fairness, it was a long-running Wildstorm in-joke that was introduced by Alan Moore during his WildC.A.Ts run. Ellis reused it a lot, but so did other writers.

And it was really funny when Moore did it. He used the same sort of genre humor he'd go on to mine much more thoroughly in Top Ten.

Is Spider-Man sticking to a different panel in the panel where the thrown guy lands on the table?

Also, It appears Reed, Ben and Jhonny went out drinking without Sue.

They also have an appearence of fakeSpawn, that guy with the smilie-face mask who stabbed a pregnant lady in the stomach and the daughter whose only notable features are huge boobs, and Wolverine's hand.

I will never understand why some writers choose to interpret 'edgy' as 'complete jerks'.

I always saw this as a response to the comics where edgy means complete jerks, and the point of these charaters is that they're complete jerks, and were more or less raised to be that way.

Meaning that, as the series went on they would gradually learn to go BEYOND being complete jerks, or what? Because if their basic characterization begins and ends with 'they're complete jerks', then I don't care what it's a commentary on, the fact is that they're still complete jerks, which makes them difficult to empathize with and unpleasant to read about. A complete jerk learning to stop being a jerk falls under 'personal growth', which is interesting reading; a complete jerk staying a jerk falls under 'let's taunt the reader and make him suffer'.
