The Life Mistaken
I was a big fan of the Green/Johnson run on Superman/Batman, as while they weren't perfect, they had a certain charm and fun to them, while staying true to the main characters and their relationship, actually saying something about it. So, as they are now officially, well for a while now actually, moving on to bigger and better things from the title, I thought I'd post certain scenes from their first issue, which had me laughing at several points.

Nineties Bat/Cat
One of my favorite moments between Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne, showing the romantic tension they have both in costume and out.

Gotham Central: assorted scans
OKAY SO LIKE, sorry that last post turned out... wanky, here's some less controversial scans (all from different issues) of some of my favorite moments from Gotham Central. First, a little bit of follow-up about Romy and Batman:

''You know his name?'' — ''Of course I know his name.'' )

Oracle makes a cameo (sort of). )

Batman is sneaky. )

There. All better. B| Now get along. B|

Gotham Central: that one time when they shot Batman (whoops)
If I recall correctly: when the Joker was sniping people in an earlier arc, he also kidnapped a female news anchor, tied her up, and hung her upside down with a camera pointing at her with a bomb nearby. Detective Nate Patton tried to disarm the bomb. Meanwhile, Batman showed up and managed to rescue the woman, but not the detective. The ensuing explosion put Patton in a coma, and eventually his family chose to pull the plug. Nate's partner was Romy. The police department took down the signal and then instructed the officers to treat him as a hostile.

Good job, Romy. )

Aaaaaand if it matters, Romy does get her gun back before she gets in trouble, thanks to some diplomatic work from Robin and Stacy the receptionist.

No Man's Land Vol.4 - Bruce reveals himself to Gordon
From No Man's Land Volume 4, chapter title 'Falling Back'.

Written by Greg Rucka. Art by Rick Burchett, James Hodgkins and Klaus Janson.

This scene was anonymously requested on another post and as I'd previously uploaded these scans to a different comm I thought I'd share them here too. Am I right in thinking that I can't link to the post with the whole scene elsewhere because it's against the rules?

Anyway, I absolutely adore Batman and Gordon so my love for this particular scene knows no bounds.

For the Book club
This post is to simply provide the scene central to the discussion for the book club thread. It is from JLA 46 and is the League discussing what to do with Batman, whose plans to disable them was used by Ra's against them. For comments that deal with the content of the scans, I encourage people to take part in the book club discussion instead posting them here. Link to the Book Club post is : http://community.livejournal.com/noscans_daily/167617.html#cutid1

Moments from Gotham
In a few posts here at the comm there has been some discussion of classism in comic books, which of course means that some commenters have taken aim at Batman, or Bruce Wayne, once more. It isn't the first time I've discussion or such commentary on how Batman could do so much more for Gotham with his money instead of playing with gadgets, although I'm always amused how those comments always single Batman out. The reason, however, why I'm always a bit puzzled by that criticism is that it isn't as if it hasn't been dealt with in the Bat-books themselves, with it having been established several times that Bruce Wayne is the biggest philanthropist in Gotham, if not even in the whole world, and the Wayne Foundation is a significant benefactor in several charity project. It's not a secret, it's not a loose, it's canon. It's been dealt with several times, even if Morrison did drop that really weird dialogue in his storyline.

The discussion did however remind me of an awesome Batman story published in Gotham Knights 32, written by Devin Grayson with art from Roger Robinson. It takes place directly Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive, with Bruce Wayne having finally returned to Gotham after his innocence has been proven and with Batman having made peace with who he is. It was an interesting storyline and important one leading from NML, where Bruce Wayne failed to save Gotham, despite trying everything. It is a beatiful issue, with each page showing a moment in his life and the impact both Bruce Wayne and Batman have on Gotham, with both of them being as important. So I thought I would post some pages from the story, with it proving extremely difficult to choose which pages to include. I decided to go with scenes that show the long-term impact Bruce has on the city and the lives of different people there, although the story had beautiful moments concerning his relationship with almost all of the central Bat-Clan and awesome Bat-action.

two great moments a couple of requests
i think this has probably been posted here a few times, but honestly...

this second one is one i only recently discovered. the whole issue is great, but this is

Detective comics 439 titled "Night of the Stalker," I saw it in an old cbr post and decided to post this here

Here's the cbr link http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2009/09/04/a-year-of-cool-comic-book-moments-day-247/

Okay now my question, i am looking for a couple of scans, one is from the first run of of (I think Land's Uncanny run) the page where Pixie comes in and takes down Empath.

the other one is a scan from an issue of X-Men i am not sure about the scene is cyclops talking to the students it goes something like this:

Cyclops: I don't know whats going to happen, we could die today, or tomorrow, or we could all live forever, like wolverine here.
WOlverine: Yay, me.

the third scan is one of Pixie and Anole during the hunt for Magick:

Anole: My arm itches.
Pixie: My soul itches.

okay thank you. :)

More Batman/class warfare tomfoolery
Since I like pouring gasoline onto a fire, here are a few pages from NIGHTWING #99, when Tarantula meets Batman. Batman doesn't know about the whole "Tarantula shot Blockbuster and Nightwing let her" part. And he is torn up over Spoiler's recent death. ("I thought he knew she wasn't really dead?" "Yeah, but he didn't know that then. Or something. Shut up.")

Don't lecture Batman after he saves you )
