[Monday, flyers are posted around town inviting all residents to a Halloween party at that strange mansion on the far side of the lake. The owner's family has lived in town since the town existed, and they say that the inside of the mansion is a strange and eclectic wonderland. The owner, who is a very old man now, has never allowed photographers inside, and the fact that he's opening the doors is a big deal. He promises a Halloween party like no other, and the flyers indicate that costumes are the only requirement for admittance.]

What an interesting party. Truly enjoyable. Truly.

I do hope these sort of engagements happen often. I could get used to that, I believe.

The morning brings quiet for our partygoers. The scenes in the maze remain, and while it is still a twisty path, it is much easier to travel in daylight. The performers are, once again, only performers, and the monsters are, once again, only people. As the staff begin to clean up and clear out the clutter, partygoers say their goodbyes and find their way home. Another Halloween party becomes one for the history books.]
