[Dancing! Hannah & Ren]

Who: Hannah & Ren
What: Dancing!
Where: Hannah doesn't have the slightest idea
When: Fuzzy nowish-Saturday
Warnings/Rating: This log has not been rated by the MPAA

Hannah was excited about going out. She'd never been dancing, and she was kind of looking forward to doing something that she wouldn't get all wrong. She had no idea how to dance, but she'd watched lots of videos since Ren had invited her, and she thought she was ready for a night spent twirling. She imagined it that way, romantic and old-school and with skirts twirling to music. She envisioned the entrance to a club as something starburst and twinkle. She was really looking forward to it.

And it wasn't that she'd beeng getting things really wrong recently, not really, but things had become complicated quickly. She'd gone from mainly trying to figure out how to help her fellow AIs, while looking for a way to gain her own freedom, and all while keeping her secret close and tight and shh. But now there was Mars, and there was Jamie, and there was David, and they were all problems in different ways. She was a girl upon a tightrope, and she wasn't really good at the balance. She wanted to just tell everyone the truth, and she wanted to clasp the truth so close and so near, and she was contradiction and dichotomy in a sparkly skirt.

Her skirt would not twirl, but she thought it really pretty, and it was a balmy 70-degrees out and nice for once, which meant she could go without sleeves and feel the world against the skin of her shoulders. She was a silly thing. Silly, lethal, and as excited as she was nervous lately. She knew Ren would have stories and tales of adventuring and romance. He was like a hero in a book, Ren, with a romantic life that unfurled more with each page of conversation they had, and Hannah soaked it all up like a greedy little sponge. It was a much nicer book than her own, and her other friends had exited their own literary experiences laden with hurts she couldn't repair.

And so she waited in her motel room, after slipping black heels on feet that weren't covered with stockings, and she waited for Ren to appear in whatever he considered "snazzy but comfortable."

Nothing to worry about. Someone feed the kid in the attic?
