Repose

[Yellow police tape appears in several locations around town the day following the disastrous Easter egg hunt, along with a deputy at each scene. The department is stretched thin, and the County lends men to assist with the more pressing crimes committed in Repose overnight. There's a man dead in an empty trailer, well known to law enforcement. The details are sparse, but it's rumored to have been gruesome foul-play. Where there has been simple trespassing and breaking-in, the tape stands as the police work to find prints, among other things. At the B&B, there's a child with bruises around his wrists and a hazy memory. The music store is cut off from rubberneckers with canvas over the windows.

The Sheriff's Department issues several statements, telling the citizens of Repose they are looking into each and every incident as quickly and as thoroughly as they are able, and they encourage anyone with information—or their own complaint to come down and speak with someone at the station.

They also promise they are closing in on the person(s) responsible for the town-wide drugging, though they give no details and answer no questions. "It is a delicate matter."]
