Need you to pickup the woman at the lake and return her to the carnival. She's the one missing, Meredith. Word is she's fine, just standing there. But, she needs to be outta the cold. I'd do it myself, but I can't.

[A woman is spotted at the lake late Saturday evening, standing at the edge. It wouldn't be so strange if it weren't for the length of time she had been standing there. She's made no move to jump, to lower herself into the water, but she's also made no move to leave, either. She simply stands there, lips moving in silent conversation, apparently unaware of the world about her.]

[The finished intake paperwork arrives just a few minutes later than expected due to the phone call, but it's filled out properly and everything is in order. The remains of two individuals, preliminary investigation and cause of death seems to be carbon monoxide poisoning, the ME's office will confirm with postmortem examination. Preliminary blood samples show a carbon monoxide level well above fatal, and the visual examination of the skin pigmentation are all consistent with carbon monoxide poisoning.

The preliminary report paperwork is likewise in order.

Given the information that the oven was not, in fact, on the ME's office is waiting for confirmation from the police investigation on whether faulty ventilation from a wood stove/central heating/chemicals/gas leak/generator etc could have caused exposure to rule out anything accidental.

The ME's office is also requesting any information related to the mental health of the deceased, and anything that points to or rules out suicide.

Lastly, the ME's office will, of course, be in touch regarding anything that indicates foul play.

The paperwork also states that the ME's office spoke with next of kin who will be arriving in town in approximately one day. There is a statement of the conversation that took place. Including recommending the funeral home, which isn't illegal but could be frowned upon in a town that had more than one. She is used to covering her butt.

Signed with her signature and a date that says 2016 but its clear it originally said 2015 because she just ain't quite used to that shit yet. And she wishes it wasn't unprofessional to write "Hey Stephanie, call me." on the bottom of the cover sheet, but she doesn't because that's super unprofessional.
