[They weren't found until Wednesday evening.

The McVickers, the elderly owners of the B&B, had barely been seen in the community since they came into town and took over the mostly live-in hotel twenty years earlier, when Mr. McVickers Sr., the recent owner's father, died of a heart attack at the local lake. Always quiet and unobtrusive, the old couple was reported to be much like all the Repose McVickers that came before them - reclusive. Therefore, it was no surprise that the couple seemed to have been dead a few days before the call came into the Sheriff's office Wednesday evening, phoned in by the boy hired to clear snow after school.

The bodies were found in the carriage house, behind the B&B, where the couple lived. They were found in the small kitchen, dressed in winter coats and scarves, collapsed on the floor. The oven door was open, according to the boy that reported the incident, and he said their lips looked like cherry Koolaid. The gas oven, however, was not found to be in use when paramedics arrived.]
