No, there are no post-Black Friday sales. There were no pre-Black Friday sales, no actual Black Friday sales, and no Cyber Monday sales on laundry.

[Someone's having a bad morning. That bad morning results in computers around the city going down one by one. It isn't every single one of them, but the outages are spread out throughout the city, but don't affect anything else. Lights remain on, electricity is uninterrupted, but those computers go down and nothing brings them back up immediately.

Within half an hour, things start to come back on. A flicker of a screen, some garbled green text, and then things are back to normal as if nothing were wrong in the first place.]

[news]

[In early afternoon, the haze starts rolling in: too thin to be called fog, but it's still oddly obscuring. Repose is cast entirely in white by evening, and even the street lights can't glow beyond their small circles. Road warnings are issued, but mostly, it's just eerie, like there's nowhere in the world but this small town, and nothing beyond it. Children tell ghost stories under blankets, houses creak, and the wind whistles. Repose has seen its share of strangeness, so older residents close curtains, lock doors, and they don't venture out. It's a weird day for weird things, and this just adds to the mystery of computers shutting down around town.]

Library: Liam & Sasha

Who: Liam R & Sasha J
What: Who needs a bar to pick up guys?
Where: The Library
When: A day or two after Eddie's suggestion. An hour or so before the haze rolls in.
Warnings/Rating: Extremely highly unlikely.

'We might as well be dead. Do you think death could possibly be a boat?' 'No, no, no... Death is...not. Death isn't. You take my meaning. Death is the ultimate negative. Not-being. You can't not-be on a boat.' 'I've frequently not been on boats.' 'No, no, no--what you've been is not on boats.' )

[News]

Once the fog sets in, Iris gets notification that her normal delivery is unable to arrive due to the weather making it impassable for the driver. She is promised that the bakery's account will be credited for the missed delivery.

Shortly after the call, she posts a sign in the front door of Crust & Crumb, taped from the inside but visible from the outside, in the very careful handwriting she uses when she's doing her best to write neatly.

Due to inclement weather, tomorrow's offerings will be:

Sourdough (2nd day)
Chocolate Chip Muffins
Snickerdoodle Cookies
Chocolate Chip Cookies (2nd day)

[After a pair of stray cats are left at the bitty hospital, like dirty, mewling presents.]

Person who keeps leaving cats. Hospital doesn't have facilities for strays. [The address of the county shelter, outside Repose.] Or my doorstep.

[Quicklog: Leftovers with Grant, CLOSED]

[Grant had several plates with cheap plastic pie covers stacked in the passenger seat of his truck. The vehicle was a second-hand four wheel drive he'd bought from a farmer moving out of the county six months ago. He took out his phone and carefully punched out a post on the town forum that informed everyone where he was, and that he had the food ready. After a moment's thought, he told everyone to be cautious in this weather.

He'd made a lot of extras. When the holiday week arrived, Grant refused to sit around and feel sorry for himself, so on Wednesday he had started cooking and he hadn't stopped until Friday morning. It had been very satisfying, making all those good things out of raw and uncollected ingredients, an act of unskilled creation that Grant had enjoyed immensely. It helped him keep his mind off the places he had been and the things he had done, in the months previous.

He parked outside the General Store and opened a thermos of hot coffee.]

[Bitty Hospital - Adam S and Matt D]

Who: Adam S. and Matt D.
What: Picking Up a Cat
Where: Bitty Animal Hospital
When: A few hours before the haze
Warnings/Rating: Not likely

Adam headed out as soon as he could, not even bothering to put in his contacts, too excited to do more than just shove on a hat and clean clothes. It wasn't too far from his trailer, but he took the car anyway, thinking it would be warmer to get the kitten home with. The whole gift was probably going out on a limb, but he couldn't help himself. It was something Kyle wanted and it had been too long since he'd ben able to do that for him. He headed straight for the vet's place, parking up close and heading to the door, letting himself in and looking around. "Hello?" he asked.

[Rory B.]
[Not that she knows Rory B is a person. To Connie, he's just a cute, freaky dog that comes by once and awhile. Tonight she leaves the back door to the B&B slightly ajar so he can trot in for food and pets. It's foggy out there and stray dogs need a place to sleep, after all.]

[Dahlia H.]

i know i promised to bring you burgers today but this wu-tang fog is not to be fucked with

[Zach B.]

so, is there a way to science out this fog?

[Public]
