CHARACTER DIRECTORY | FAQ "It starts in San Francisco, a very Bizarre City... There once was a time when magic reigned supreme and legends could be made. Before the Age of Reason, creatures of power and fantasy roamed freely, but then The Veil fell, blinding humanity to the Wonder of the world. Now, in modern times, beneath the streets of the cities, a new movement has risen. The mythological beings never left the world, they remained hidden by the fear of humanity. While agents of The Veil seek to keep humanity in the dark, those who wish to bring a new Age of Wonder about seek to make themselves known to the human world." Bizarre City, set in modern day San Francisco, is a high fantasy scenario. The idea is that beneath the mundane mortal world we live in; there are hidden pockets of magic from the old, mythological world. Creatures of fantasy, what are now called supernaturals, exist in the city though they remain hidden to most human eyes: elves, fae/sidhe, maybe even goblins, they’re out there. It's a fantasy set in an urban, gritty environment. These creatures can't go exposing themselves to humanity (though some try) without repercussions. When the Age of Reason began, what supernaturals dubbed as ‘The Veil’ blinded humanity to Wonder and Magic. In order for an elf, fae/sidhe, or any other fantastic creature to reveal himself to humans, it had to be through an act of will, and the possibility of driving the human mad came as a consequence. Not everyone believes The Veil is bad. Some enjoy the power it gives them over humanity because it allows them to pull strings from off stage and out of sight. Humanity is a violent and selfish race, keeping them ignorant to magic may be the best way to control them. Some want The Veil lifted again, but others don't. There is a constant war between the two opposing sides. It doesn't mean they will always fight if they meet out in the open, however. The Agents only interfere when a threat to the stability of The Veil presents itself. With that said, you can play out nearly any plot imaginable. Yet, keep in mind a character can't walk through the streets flashing around their true magical self without someone taking notice and the consequences resulting in potential insanity for a passerby human, but may well even involve a character death! We're looking for Original Characters only. The guidelines are for the most part pretty flexible and if you want to play a race not listed, just give us a shout on the journals or AIM Chyleiah or TheMelisande. What we're going for is a friendly modern-day fantasy RP that is fairly freeform and not over-modded, and where no open thread remains open. If you want to play with active, experienced RPers, we can give you that from the start. Kaylee Moreau, Evil Magic User, Aegis Members, Haskel Coven Members, Fae Court Members. |
Everyone faces low points in their life when things are hard. Times when nothing is going right and there's just too much to do. Or times when it just seems like life should have more to it. When you're feeling feeling overwhelmed, or longing for something new, or just unappreciated or misunderstood. And you make a wish. And the wish wings out, a tiny weakness in the walls between worlds. Under normal circumstances, it wouldn't mean anything, but there's magic out there now, poking through the cracks and crevices of the multiverse, looking for an opening. It finds you and pulls you into the world of Enchantia, which is slumbering under a curse that only people from other worlds can break. If you ever want to see your home again, you'll have to go on a quest through this fantasy world. You'll be faced with wonders and perils, and challenge that will test your mettle. But you'll also have the help of others in the same situation. If you work together, you just might overcome the obstacles you face and reach the end of your journey -- and the final test. |

Master Reaver of Reaver Industries has apparently absconded. We require his presence in the Royal Court, for one reason or another. In addition, the staff at his Bowerstone estate are becoming restless. His manservant Hatch will soon be relying on other Albion citizens as foo-no, fodd- hang on, er... Ah. The number of chickens has dwindled. It won't be long before he finds a body in his bedchamber, and no, the reason for that won't be 'the usual'. It can't be, owing to the amount of blood and gristle that'll be coating the rug. if you have any questions, feel free to either contact the staff via their dropbox; alternatively, contact Hatch on AIM at bythemoonsofmer. A WORLD TORN
Never before has there been such a period of destruction and social turmoil for both Wizarding and Muggle alike. As Harry Potter readied himself to face Voldemort a final time, there were many who felt that the Wizarding world was teetering on the brink of a golden age. Those who stood with the Order of the Phoenix longed for a period of peace and safety, free of the dark cloud that was Tom Riddle. Those who bore the dark mark prepared to welcome a new society that embraced purity and order. Both sides clinging to ideal visions described by their leaders.
