Ever since Lex had wanted to discuss Dr. Richards, Kristoff had had the 'enemy' on the brain.

He'd avoided the Baxter Building during his errands in New York, but he couldn't stop thinking about the Richards family... especially as he was fixing the shielding on his newfound interstellar transmitter. Could Dr. Richards have anything to do with this?

Finally, he put in a call. Not to Dr. Richards, of course. He couldn't. He just couldn't. But the lady of the house was another matter. If a man of honor couldn't have a polite conversation with a lady, something was terribly wrong.

So Susan Storm Richards got a call from the Latverian consulate. "I hope I am not interrupting anything urgent, Mrs. Dr. Richards."
