Lara had woken up when Stone got out of bed in the morning, but after he left, she fell right back asleep. It wasn't too long after that when some noise outside the window woke her up once again, and she decided she would actually get out of bed this time.

After putting on some pajamas and cleaning up in the bathroom, she got something to drink and headed out into Stone's living room. She put on some appropriate music and parked her ass on the couch. She'd spent her last couple of Christmases mostly alone, so it was nice to know that once a certain someone came back (from giving away a pig they'd had to keep hidden in Poe's old bedroom for the past few days), that this year would be a little different.

Stone showed up at Lis' apartment before noon. Actually it was around ten in the morning. He knew that was way too early for Lis but whatever, there was present-giving to be done! In fact he had a bag in his hand as well as a box carefully tucked in his arms. It had some discreet air holes cut into the wrapping paper as well. He moved the box carefully to one arm and knocked on the door loudly for a few minutes before he moved to hold the box properly and waited with a big dorky grin on his face.

I'm freezing my ass off in here and it reminds me...remember at the reception how we were saying we should go on a trip? We should definitely do that.

Lara really needed a break from all the hoopla going on inside. It was kind of impressive that she lasted this far through the night before she had to get out for some air. Unfortunately, the air was cold. The cardigan she had on over her dressed was a help, but not exactly ideal. Nevertheless, Lara was going to stay outside for at least a few minutes, free to be mopey in peace. It would make the air inside feel that much warmer (and therefore welcoming?) when she came back in. Besides, there was a lot of stuff to look at out in the fancypants courtyard she'd wandered onto. Statues and trimmed hedges and a tastefully lit fountain with benches around it. Lara headed in that direction, to get away from the noise she could hear coming from inside the building.

Poe had officially moved out. Lara knew Stone wasn't too happy about this, but there wasn't much he could do about it. And besides, there was a silver lining -- he now had his apartment all to himself again, which was an awesome kind of sweet freedom that deserved lots of celebration.

And celebrating had been had, and now they were both tired. The good kind of tired. Lara wanted to savor these moments after she had been so close to losing them forever. It had took them a long time to get back to this point in their non-relationship, but over the past number of weeks she was continually reminded that it was totally worth it.

"What are you going to do with her old room?" Lara had been gazing up at the ceiling, but after a moment turned her head to look at Stone.

Lara laid on the couch, poking at her stomach as she waited for Stone to answer his phone. She was pretty sure it only had two rings left before it went to voicemail. And that would be annoying.

"Answerrrrr..." she urged quietly as it rang once again. Only one more to go.

( Extreme alterna cheesiness ahead. )

Stone had spent a good chunk of his morning (meaning he actually woke up around seven even though he could've slept in another two hours) looking up information on the buildings Poe had told him she'd been interested in looking at for apartments. Then he'd gone to his composition class. He'd stopped for lunch at the store to check on things and now he was in the garden. This was because he was avoiding television today since most of it was full of depressing shit like close ups of photos of people who jumped out of the WTC buildings rather than burn to death after the planes hit them. People weren't going to forget things like that and, in Stone's opinion, that was why things like that did not have to be replayed for a week straight leading up to and including September eleventh.

Anyway, he'd dropped off his computer and laptop and had picked up his guitar. He had, however, decided to take Slate with him. Slate was always trying to get out of the apartment and then got scared and had to be brought back, so Poe had gotten him a little blue kitty...harness, leash thing. Stone stuck the handle of it around his ankle and let Slate have a ball in the grass while he futzed around with his guitar and a notebook in an attempt to possibly get something worthwhile written.

Lara woke up by herself, which wasn't all that unusual as of late. But then she cracked her eyes open and remembered that she wasn't alone in her bedroom. She was alone in Stone's bedroom. And he didn't hate her anymore. That was good. But he still wasn't there. Lara could vaguely remember him getting up at some point, but that could have also been a dream. She wasn't sure.

She picked up her head to check the clock for the time. It was almost 6:30. She'd been asleep for a while. Leaning up like that was exhausting, so Lara dropped her head back onto the pillow and stared up at the ceiling.

After his early morning run - that's right, Stone Hawthorne went out and ran - Stone had dragged himself to his apartment. He kicked off his shoes and collapsed onto his couch and had woken up some time in the afternoon in a twisted up position with his shoes still on. He'd gotten a shower, attempted to eat but failed and then had grown tired of his apartment. He'd left Alyssa in charge of the store as he'd done for the past four or so days.

She wasn't quite sure what time it was, exactly, other than Really Freakin' Late. Or early. One of the two, really, and it didn't matter which when you'd just had a nightmare. Not even a specific nightmare about something happening in her life, no. Just random generic bad things happening that'd for some reason been far scarier than usual.

Peri knew that dwelling on it in her apartment wasn't going to get her anywhere. So she made herself a mug of hot tea before grabbing her robe, putting her slippers on, and making her way downstairs. Once in the lobby, she settled into a chair and quietly watched as the occasional person came or even went. (Because really, in the Manor, there was always somebody coming or going.)

( So Lara is officially pregnant! After some crying, the freaked out couple return to the Manor before things follow a strange order, Lara pukes, there's a short normal shower, and then a first in the sex department for both Follethornes, isn't that just cute? )

Lara had two very important things to do today. She was dreading going through both of them, but they had to be done. So, sitting cross-legged in the middle of her bed, she dialed Stone's number and waited for him to pick up.
