[Just as evening starts to fall, one of the parks in Sector 4 has been festooned with streamers, bright lights in a variety of colors, a big upraised dais, tables of refreshments, and music. It looks like a perfectly normal party from the outside. Optional masks are provided in little bins beside the dais, but you're responsible for your own costumes...!

Have you ever considered being independant?

[Tieria had never answered directly to Ribbons. Anything he had done had come and gone through VEDA, though he couldn't deny the possibility that he'd been fed information from Ribbons at times to sway Celestial Being's actions. He wasn't sure, but he wouldn't have been surprised to find out if that had been case. However, even then, he'd been working for VEDA, not on his own. Losing it had been a hard blow, but the experience had taught him more than any information download could have. He could act on his own and make his own decisions. In a way, Ribbons had inadvertanly given him something of a gift.]

You don't always have to work just to please someone else.

Part of our purpose is protecting others, not just fighting interventions. How can we expect humanity to accept our guidance if they distrust us? You cannot force someone to follow you. It must be of their own free will.

We can have free will. We can make our own decisions on how we reach our goal. There is no need for anyone, even Innovades, to follow instruction blindly simply out of devotion.

We must live our lives as we want others to. We cannot do that if we give up one of the main marks of humanity.

[And, for a moment, Tieria might have actually sounded sympathetic towards her.]

And you're so sure. [Tieria sighed, looking out over the room.] Things are not as cut and dry as Ribbons made them seem. Quantum Brainwaves or not, being with him or VEDA will show you that. [His expression, even if not pointed at her, however, showed that he understood it wasn't easy to adapt. After all, he was the one with prior experience on just that kind of situation.]
