I got some pretty great friends. Part of its 'cause we're all solvin' this case together but also 'cause we've all got some shit inside us we don't really like, but even though everyone's seen it we still accept each other. [Was that Kanji making an intelligent and thoughtful point? Take a picture for the scrapbook, since that never happens.] Not gonna lie, man, wantin' to kill people's pretty messed up but it ain't somethin' you actually did, right? I think that's kinda the important part.

A lot of people just leave if they think there's bad in you. That's cool... all of you being okay with each other.

Not yet. I haven't done it yet. I tried a couple times, though, and that's why I needed to kill myself—to keep it from happening.

	I dunno, man. I ain't smart enough to know how to fix that. But I do know that sometimes you gotta accept the bad stuff about yourself, even if it's really hard and you don't like it. That's... it's not like that. I don't have to accept that my personality sucks or something, I have to not be crazy and kill people. When the bad thing that you hate about yourself is being a psycho, you can't just accept that. [That's not fair. Kanji is dropping good advice here, even if it's not exactly relevant to Nathan's situation.] ...Sorry. I'm sorry, it's just... really different.

Yeah, that makes sense. Hey, you remember I told you about goin' into the TV? And how we caught this copycat killer and thought he was the real culprit? Well, I mean, he did murder someone but he was takin' the blame for all the others. And I remember his Shadow [Did he explain Shadows?] it just kinda stood there. Nobody else's did that. Mine sure as fuck didn't. And he kept talkin' and yellin' about how he was so happy about killing all those people and what a badass he was and stuff and his Shadow just kept sayin' it felt empty and nothin'. And in the end it just vanished. Like he didn't even listen to it the way the rest of us did. I dunno, that probably doesn't make any sense but, I mean, you don't remind me of that. If it helps. You seem like you got this. Like you're not tryin' to pretend it's somethin' it ain't.

Yeah, well, nobody ever thinks anything good about weird kids like us. We gotta kinda stuck together, huh? [He looks away for a second, suddenly awkward. It feels like he should probably tell Nathan his deal, too. After all his confession was a pretty big one that takes lots of trust so he'd feel like a jerk if he didn't show that trust back. Still, he hates talking about this crap. He shifts uncomfortably and goes for it.] I, uh, I like girly stuff. Like sewing and knitting and crap. And cute things. That's my deal. And, uh, I mean, I, uh, [The sewing stuff everybody here knows. This part, not so much. He almost shuts up but no, fairs fair right? It can't be as bad as wanting to kill people. Right?] I don't really know what I like. I mean guys or girls or whatever. Girls kinda scare me and there was this guy at home I liked but then it turned out he was actually a girl. I mean she was. Yeah, I guess... [Weird kids like us. No one has ever lumped themselves into a group with Nathan before. That's unexpectedly nice. The rest of the confession takes a moment to process—not because Nathan is about to judge Kanji, but because... well, Kanji's fessing up to something that is completely different from homicidal psychosis.]

Is any of that bad? Liking that stuff, or...? [Or possibly being gay? Nathan isn't tactful, but even he knows that that isn't the thing to say.] I mean, most people where I'm from don't think that's bad.
