	[It wasn't something she wanted to hear, either. She's getting more human so even though she knows it can't hurt her she still gets a shiver down her spine - it's the first time she's experienced creepy and she likes the novelty of it even if she dislikes the feelings.] My sensors are not picking up any readings, but I have had difficulty with them all night. If there is something up there I will protect you. [Its the one thing she's certain of in this uncertain place, and indeed in this whole uncertain world. She will protect people. It makes it easier to feel scared, like its alright to feel that way as long as she has a purpose. She steps forward, trying to look everywhere at once. There's nothing to see, only rattling sounds.]

[She has done many hostage situation assessments in the past. Sometimes she has caused them. And more importantly she has learned how to react to them with feelings, rather than just programming. It works better. Is that a child holding his hand? It's still so dark here.]

Are you hostile? [She's not going to attack a potentially lost child. But she's not going to attack until she knows she can do it without hurting him.]

[What an odd request. She wishes Junpei were here, with one of his scary Junpei's Believe it or Don't stories. He would be able to talk them out of this. But she doesn't know any stories and even if she did she looks at the tight grip that tiny hand has, the way it appeared so readily from the darkness and she reaches her own decision. She locks eyes with Reid. Don't move.]

I'm sorry. I do not trust you. Persona!

[There's a sound like a gunshot from somewhere near her heart and for a moment her expressive blue eyes look empty, dead as the force rocks her body. Then there's a tornado of icy blue light, a huge figure resolving in the middle of it. Athena charges towards the small shape, swooping towards it and Aigis is already moving, launching herself up in another one of those impossibly high jumps and pivoting around in midair so she can land behind Reid, facing the direction she came from and tackle him out of the way as Athena smashes in towards his captor.]

[ It's a good thing he's used to being the hostage — he does some of his best work under pressure — and that even though they don't know each other very well, he trusts her to handle this. Not that he expected her to do that, a little bit of a warning would've been really awesome right about now and she's damn lucky that the summoning is so brief and so shocking that he doesn't have time to freak out about her apparent suicide.

It's all a bit of a blur and then he's on the ground, hand free and tiny robot girl on top of him. She's gentler than Morgan, he thinks. ]

We need to get out of here.

[He's lucky she's the one here with her built in Evoker. Anyone else on her team would have had to point a gun at their head and pull the trigger to summon their Persona. She's up almost immediately, and suddenly Athena is the one hovering near him. Her Persona may not have any elements attacks but it's mix of physical moves and strong defense is perfect at a time like this. She crouches, bracing herself as she prepares to continue the offensive against the fast moving child shaped thing. She doesn't have ammunition so she'll have to use another weapon.]

I will secure our surroundings. Disabling limiters. Engaging orgia mode.

[The vents that look like headphones on the side of her head begin spinning, her joints glowing red hot and steaming in the cooler air of the attic. If she moved fast before its nothing compared to now. She's almost a blur, there every time the thing tries to move to grab it and slam it against the ground with impossible strength or strike it hard enough to smash it against the walls. There's a final wail from the thing as she pummels it for a last time when its gone with the finality of a shadow when a light is switched on. Not a minute too soon because before she can even turn to smile reassuringly orgia mode overheats her and she drops to her knees, smoking and steaming while her components work to cool themselves down. Athena vanishes as well and things are suddenly very quiet in the attic.]

[ It's times like these that makes him wonder if he's lost it, if his senses have dulled from all the time away from the field. Not that he enjoys hunting down UnSubs or tackling suspects to the ground, but it was a part of the thrill. Solving the puzzle, catch the bad guy, wrap it up and go home. The stress of not being under organized stress has made him slow to act and he hates that, just like he hates how he doesn't know what to do about it.

So he watches her, gets to his feet and out of the way, ready for whatever comes next. Even knowing she's a robot, he didn't expect this and the moment she goes down he goes to her, instincts finally kicking in. Teammate down. ]

Aegis! Are you okay?

[If she had know she would have involved him, not tried to do everything herself. She's a big believe in teamwork. But all she knew was that there was someone who needed to be protected, and that's a mission she will fulfill for anyone at any cost now. The exposed robotic joints at her shoulders and hips are slowly starting to cool, no longer red hot metal but still hissing and steaming angrily. She smiles up at him all the same.]

You're alright. I protected you. Thank goodness.

[Even for someone not as good at reading people the implications in the way she says that are obvious. There was someone else she didn't protect, once.]

[ Oh, he understands what she's implying. Understands it better than she might realize, not because he's a profiler trained to read the things that people aren't spelling out, but rather because he's been in that very situation a few times too many. One particular not long ago, the biggest heartbreak that doesn't seem to know when to stop.

This isn't the time for all that, though. He's a bit at a loss on how to proceed what with the steam coming off her. ]

What can I do?

I will be fine momentarily. Orgia mode disables my internal limiters, and I have increased speed and strength but overheat quickly. It is something of a gamble in combat situations. [It really only works if she has a team to back her up or if it's an enemy she knows she can take down fast, like this one. Otherwise she becomes useless fast.]

Are you alright? Did that thing injure you at all?
