DAY 347 : Haunted Hotel Mingle


[You have a lot of baggage for your stay. Not the kind you stuff free robes and toiletries into. No, the kind of baggage that helps drive the sort of scenarios you experience. [Gon can't help but focus his attention on her attack. At least for a few seconds. It's really cool and of course he's naturally curious about it, not that now is the time for that but...it can't be helped. Other then that his eyes go back to scanning the room, looking for an enemy or really another way out.]

[The voices keep echoing. They mesh the same words together but in different orders and in various tones. The cackling and echoing just keeps getting louder and louder to the point its ear wrenching---until sharp clapping cuts through. The clapping comes from behind the duo, in the far corner. It's hard to make out the features due to the lighting. The clapping stops as the figure brings out a deck of cards and shoots the cards, one by one, from one hand to the other quickly.
"I'm getting excited~♦" ]

[ Uranus whirls and - hah. ] The puppetmaster shows itself.

[ Working out a crick in her neck, she cracks her knuckles. ] Sorry, but we'll be checking out early today.

["Are you sure about that? I believe you booked a much longer stay.." The cards just keep going from hand to hand as the figure pushes off the wall to stand upright.]

[While Uranus' reaction may be more positive and eager...Gon is much more taken back. All it took was hearing that familiar voice and seeing the cards. He doesn't even need to see the clown has he steps out. His stomach sinks.]

H-Hisoka..!?

[Gon swallows, getting to his feet quickly. His fist clench instinctively. Saying the other's name puts a nasty taste in his mouth. There's no way....how can Hisoka be here? There is..something off about this. It doesn't feel right. This doesn't even feel like Hisoka's aura... Most times Gon would be up to challenging the other, win or lose, but here...without Nen... this is bad! He glares in the clown's direction before looking to Uranus.]

Haruka...don't...! We need to get out of here. I don't know how strong you are but Hiso-

["Don't disappoint me ♥" 'Hisoka' cuts in as he swings his arm, throwing the cards in their direction. The cards are razor sharp, ready to slice through anything in their path.]

[ Gon knows this guy? Which means - either a new arrival or an illusion - or -

No time to worry about that now, though. Uranus brings up her sword to try and slice through those cards with her blade. It's held out from her body, though, so if they end up slicing her instead she'll take the hit in her arm. ]

[Once the cards are cut, they float harmlessly to the ground. After all they are just normal playing cards....just infused initially with Nen. It's really a matter if Haruka can cut through twenty-six of them before they reach her.

Gon on the other hand jumps out of the way entirely. He keeps his eyes on the ones that go flying past him though. They don't get pulled back or anything..? Which is strange considering Hisoka's attacks are more thought out then that. Maybe he wasn't trying?
Shifting his gaze back to the clown he freezes upon seeing Hisoka is suddenly standing over him. When did he-?! Before Gon can lift his arms to defend or attack the other's fist slams hard into his cheek sending him flying across the room and into the nearest wall.]

[ [ "I'm not interested in broken toys...Gon~." Hisoka almost seems to coo the boy's name before looking over to Uranus, sizing her up. His tongue runs across his upper lip hungrily before diving for her. He feints with a right hook at the sailor scout only to come back with a sharp kick.]

--Gon!! [ Congratulations, you've graduated, in the span of seconds, to Uranus actually deciding to call your name. Too bad she's only been able to deflect twenty-five cards so there's a trickle of blood running down into her glove.

But she barely even has time to register the hit since the enemy is headed straight for her. The kick lands, winding her, but while she's got this guy in close range (and corporeal) she tries to sock him in the gut. ]

[ It hits firmly making Hisoka buck forward. His body is oddly solid. Even compared to someone that may be made of pure muscle. Its feels more like hitting the trunk of a tree then a human being. There's a low hallow sound if she's paying enough attention. Hisoka tries to quickly reach out to snatch the wrist of the hand that connected with his stomach. His free hand forms a fist as he attempts to deck the scout in similar fashion.]

[Gon grunts, slowly pushing himself to his knees. He coughs as he lifts his head. The room spins but settles as he snaps more to it. It was a hard hit but Hisoka usually hit even harder then that. Why wasn't he using Nen? His head is throbbing from that impact all the same. Maybe he should be more grateful and less questioning of it... Damn it! Gon moves and slowly gets to his feet.]

[ The kid isn't down for the count. Which means Uranus has to keep this guy, whoever he is, occupied - whoever this is, whether or not they really are who Gon thinks they are, they have a history with the boy. Uranus can't let this guy go after Gon again.

She takes the hit to her gut, grunting, and rolls with it, trying to get her upper body bent enough to flip her opponent over her shoulder, hopefully freeing her arm in the process. So much for close. Now she needs distance. If she's going to take him out, she needs distance.... ]

[ The move works and the magician does end up getting flipped over her shoulder. The grip on Uranus' arm gives way but not without some force as those sharp nails try to hold on to her despite the toss. At the very least he'll try to make her bleed for it.

Hisoka flips unnaturally through the air, landing on the dinning room table easily.
"For your sake, I hope that isn't your best..." He smirks, reaching behind him and drawing out a small handful of cards. He shoots the handful of cards from left hand to his right. Obviously Hisoka is in no rush to take out either of the toys. Similar to earlier, he swings his hand, sending the cards at her once again.]

Don't worry. [ His focus is on her. Good. Uranus is hardly one to disappoint her audience, so rather than trying to deflect the cards this time, she'll hope to blow them all away and take their master with them.

Down goes her fist into the floor! ] World - Shaking!!

[ This is her best, for the record. And it did a number on the hotel earlier, so have fun with that. ]

[The cards burn away the moment they get in close contact with the attack. Seeing that, Hisoka isn't dumb enough to stand there and take it. He moves to jump out of the way only to suddenly have the table break under him. It throws the magician off balance for just a second.

A quick glance back reveals Gon jumping away from the other end, having smashed that side and causing the table give way suddenly. It only slows him briefly but that's all that is needed to have the attack connect. Not only does it take down the clown but also that half of the dinning room with it and the next few walls in the attack's path. It's clear the attack hit head-on but the moment Hisoka's body hits the floor it burns away leaving a broken wooden doll in its place.]

....

[Gon blinks from his spot on the floor, panting and staring. So that....wasn't the real Hisoka? What...the hell...]

[ Oh, perfect. This is what she gets for fighting without Neptune.

Glad of the respite yet aware of the toll her transformation is starting to take on her body, Uranus holds onto her injured arm while attempting to ignore the soreness in her solar plexus. ] An illusion....?

[ So much for finding the puppetmaster. She exhales, then drops to one knee. This took more out of her than she'd thought while running on adrenaline. ]

I guess...

[Gon doesn't know if he's upset by that or relived. It explained why Hisoka wasn't using any Nen based attacks but that didn't change the fact that the illusion, puppet or whatever still hit like a truck. He wasn't able to do much of anything! Gon lets out a frustrated sigh as he wipes the blood off his lip. His whole body is sore and his right cheek is probably starting to swell.]

You got him though. You're really strong...

[He pushes himself slowly to his feet before making his way over to check on Uranus as well.]

You okay, Haruka?

...It's nothing. [ A swirl of rose petals surround the Sailor Soldier, and when they dissipate, her transformation is broken. Haruka lets go of her arm and a faint smudge of blood shows up on her jacket sleeve.

At least now all that's left is the results of the fight, not of staying transformed. Which means: ] We're still in prison. The whole place may be like this until tomorrow.

Doesn't look like nothing....[Gon blinks looking to her, the swirl of petals makes him pause slightly before stopping to stand next to her. The skirt and sailor outfit its gone, its the Haruka he can now recolonize. Transformations were cool to see. But that aside, hes more curious to her wound so dont mind him leaning over to get a better look.]

Just until to tomorrow? Really?

[ Its hard to imagine things just suddenly going back to normal but then again...they did suddenly appear there. He'd rather bust out of there then wait for tomorrow all the same.]

If we're lucky. [ Which they seem to be so far, as the place has tried to kill them multiple times and they're still breathing. Haruka would love to attribute that solely to her mad soldier skillz but is too much of a realist. If this is the prison, the Wardens are omnipotent. They could have sent her something she and Gon couldn't defeat.

Her wound stings as her clothing brushes against it, and she grabs at it again, sucking in a breath. Shoot. So much for looking reliable in front of the kid. ]

Mmm... [Gon just sighs thoughtfully, his gaze drifting around the room. Should they just wait it out? He really doesn't want to---his attention flicks back to her at the movement. A concerned frown pulls at his lips.]

I think your attack blew a hole in the wall leading to the kitchen...we can clean up in there. [He points in the direction, hopeful.]

[ There are usually sharp objects in kitchens, but out here they're sitting ducks just as well as in there, so Haruka's done being picky. She nods. ] I'll be fine.

If you say so... [Gon just nods before walking after her. He wants to be sure she's okay is all. The whole thing is strange really. From the stupid hotel to Haruka being able to transform. The young Hunter almost feels like he should apologize for mistaking her for a boy but at the same time it's probably best to leave things be.]

[ Sure enough they end up in the kitchen. Gon looks around before perking and going over to the sinks. He reaches up to turn it on without a second thought. Just normal running water..!]

Over here Haruka! You can clean your wound over here too--

[He offers a small grinn before winching and holding his injured cheek. O-ow. Smiling hurts now.]

[ She's testing the water with her fingertips before applying any to her arm, though. It would be like this place to sabotage the amenities: an unfair cheap shot.

I-I'm fine. [Gon huffs a little at her comment, sticking his tongue out childishly. He can at least do that much.

He's not worried about the water being tampered with. Then again he really only been in Marina for just over a week.]

Just so you know, I haven't forgotten your suppose to show me that neat thing you like to do. I didn't see you anywhere on 341...

[He stares at her. Sure the hotel is trying to do them harm or even possibly kill them but HEY this is important too.]

Sorry. [ She'll make that up to him next time. Haruka roots around for a towel she can use as a makeshift bandage - but when she finds one, she dunks it in water and tosses it at Gon. ] I'll have to make it twice as worth your wait.

[ Here is a towel for herself as well. ]

Really? [Okay, he perks up at that and tries to imagine what it could be. Gon grins again only to quickly wince. He did it again! A quiet annoyed whine escapes him. But he catches the wet towel and blinks at it before placing it on his cheek. The water is cool~]

I'll hold you too it.

[He laughs a little, careful not to agitate his cheek again. It's strange how quiet it is now. Defeating Hisoka couldn't have put an end to it all, right? Still...Gon isn't complaining.]

[ Haruka, too, is reminded of calms before storms. But while she's thinking in terms of cliches, she also isn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

....Or let down her guard. But Gon doesn't have to know about that.

She pulls the towel tightly around her arm and knots it in place. ] Deal.
