mandalus :: the city of fates.

[ During the blizzard as it rages on, a text message will appear over the network, courtesy of one (1) spirit of the winter. Because just as much as he enjoys bringing about a good winter storm or blizzard, even one like this is way too much for even him to handle.

So, naturally, he felt it absolutely necessary to make sure everyone knew that for once it wasn't his fault. ]

I didn't do this I swear. This blizzard is not my work.

[ ... Yep. ]

[ The video feed switches on and, for those who either believe in him or some variation of him from their world, or remember him from his previous stay in Mandalus, will see the white-haired boy filling the screen.

As always he's dressed in the familiar, partially frost-covered, blue hooded sweatshirt with the hook of the shepherd's crook seen in the corner of the screen.His left eyebrow is arched high as he looks into the camera of the device when he begins speaking. ]

Listen, I get it-- I'm a popular guy. No need to tell me something I already know! 

[ The corner of his mouth twitches as he tries not to grin at tooting his own horn. ]

But as much fun as it was the last time, I gotta get back to my world. You were kind of enough to send me back the last time sooo...

[ Both eyebrows raise this time as he tilts his head to the side while waving a hand in the video screen. Of course nothing happens though and after a minute his expression slowly shifts to that of a deadpan look. Dragging his hand down his face, he lets out a sigh before leaning back. The background behind him changed from the sky to the roof of some building he was sitting on. He has to hold the device up so that he can look into it still but his face is lacking any sort of amusement. ] 

Yeah, sure, okay. Fine. But if you're keeping me here then you better leave the kids here alone. I'm not messing around here, you know.

[ Because he remembers everything from the last time he was here. Sure it may have been a few months since then but the guy has been around for centuries. He isn't about to forget those events anytime soon.

And of course, for those who have no idea who this is? All they're going to see for the duration of his video is the background, complete with the sudden camera angle change. ]

[ Anyone walking around the city today will be in for one heck of a surprise. A rather cold one at that.

At this time of year Jack would be visiting other parts of the world where it would be snowing and put all of his talents to good use. But guess what? He can't here. Which means there is a guardian of snow and fun stuck in the city during the summer time. And that is not a good thing.

So Mister Frozen Antsy Pants here is going to being traveling about the city and tossing snowballs at people who just so happen to pass by. Why? Because he can. And he is wicked bored. Plus people could use a few laughs after everything that has happened so far.

So, deal with it. ]

[ ooc: If your character happens to eb one of those who can't see him, then snowballs will be appearing out of nowhere and hitting you. If your character can see him, yell at him to knock it off. ]

Everyone who saw that spectacle at the memorial service, that creature you saw right before the camera cut off? That's not the same cuddly pony your kids watch during their morning cartoons. They're anything but cuddly.

Those things are called Nightmares. And they're from my world.

They feed on your dreams and replace them with, well, nightmares. I don't know how many of them there are yet but they can and will multiple. And before any of you ask, no, they can't be killed. The most any of you can do is to lock up your homes at night and fill in any crack there is. Can't kill a dream and you can't kill a nightmare. At best, if you're fast enough to catch one or run into it, hitting it with something -- anything -- will make the dream sand disperse and buy you enough time to get away.

If you happen to see one, try not to catch its attention. I'll be trying to draw them away as often as I can or at least chase them off.

[ Starting on the evening on Saturday it had started to snow.

Now, this isn't something that would really be worth noting. After all, snow is pretty common at this time of the year. There had been snowfalls through out the month but nothing major or severe. And as the hours passed the snow that falls progressively becomes heavier while the wind blows it to and fro, in every which way. Well into the night and even the earliest parts of the morning the white frozen flakes cover the city while patches of ice freeze over on the streets below.

What does come off as being abnormal is that, come morning, the snow drifts are deeper than usual. And certain areas, specifically ones that were publicly known bases for the Serpent Army were.... more or less snowed in. As in, the snow piled so high in front of the doors and windows, that the soldiers within would be trapped for hours and busy trying to dig their way out.

And in the middle of the morning, once the sun had risen and the city folks were shoveling paths and carefully making their way through the sidewalks, everyone would have received a text message notification on their devices. ]
