In Darkness - Network

Oops. Guess they had 'til Tuesday night.

[inserted is a video. On the video is the following:

The back of the hotel is shown in close up before the camera pans out to include the garden. It sweeps over to show the small graveyard before moving around to the front of the hotel. Just then, there is a rumbling sound as the hotel begins to shake and tremble. Windows pop out and shatter. A crack appears running up from the south-east corner, and it is joined by several others.

Pieces of the front start to fall, and then the building tips to the side as the left side of the foundation either cracks or sinks. Things start to slide out of the windows as the building lists forward.

The waves come then, washing up over the white line, larger waves creeping closer until a wall of water crashes into the building, shoving boards and plaster and concrete forward. The wave retreats, showing a crippled building as well as a couple of bodies. The camera focuses on the broken body of a golden retriever laying in a sinkhole before a second, larger wave collides with what's left of the building.

The screen then goes black.]

[Matt is seated in the hospital/lab area. Behind him are an array of exam tables, each with a body covered with a sheet.]

So, oops. Man, we've really got to stop making these mistakes. See, we meant to send the bears to you guys, but accidentally sent them to Algul Siento. Well, the armor wasn't there, obviously, because hey -- you guys have it -- and before we could get the bears back, they ... well, they went on a rampage.

We recovered the bodies and cleaned up some of them.

[He moved away from the camera, and it pans to the first covered body. He draws the sheet back revealing "Lily" in torn, bloody clothing that clearly displays her torn-open throat and a series of six criss-crossing slashes on her middle.

The next body displayed is that of Severus in a similar state, though his middle is significantly more savaged.

Last, but not least, he pulls the sheet away from the shortest body, revealing Lizzy, recognizable only by her face as the rest of her is composed of so many scratches and nearly detached limbs.

The camera then pans over the rest of the bodies; faces and hair are exposed to imply the remainder of the population is gone as well, though no one else gets a close-up.]

Sorry. Such a shame; these were some of our best subjects. Anyway, we're working on getting the island cleaned up and ... we'll move you guys there this weekend. We'll try not to put you in any of the rooms that have blood in them, all right?

Excellent. See you soon.

[He reaches forward and turns off the camera]

A single? Really?

Now, what was the point of taking requests if I can't have a double all to myself?

Oops. Sorry guys, we didn't realize the music was stuck like that.

We have also been instructed to inform you that we've discovered the island is on an active faultline. In the event it becomes a danger to keep you here, we do have a few other islands to move you to.

Spike: Were you in love with him?
Electra: I guess I'll never really know. I just know I felt things I've never felt before. A kind of... wrenching feeling. I didn't know what it was; it just tore at my heart. Have you ever felt that way?
Spike: I have...
Electra: [sigh] I tried to save him, but I think I was the one who was saved.
Spike: When I was younger, I wasn't afraid of anything. I didn't have the slightest fear of dying, no reason for it. I thought that, if I die, that's fine with me - any time at all. But then I met a certain woman and it changed. I started to think that... I wanted to survive. For the first time, the idea of death began to scare me. It was on my mind... I'd never felt that kind of feeling: almost paralyzed.
Electra: And? Where is she now?
Spike: She... faded off somewhere. [sigh] Strange... You're the first person that I ever said this to.
Electra: Why did you keep looking for Vincent?
Spike: We share the same soul. That's why I have to see him one last time.

Reyes I know it's impossible to stop thinking about what he said. About William. But it's all lies, Dana. And you were the one who proved it.

Scully And how should I prove it now? By insisting that I can protect him - only to learn too late that I can't?

Reyes You say it as if you have a choice.

Scully He didn't have a choice to come into this life. I don't have a choice about what he is or was. But I do have a choice about the life my son will have. [starting to cry] And shouldn't I choose that he never have to be afraid of anyone or anything? And can I ever really even promise him that?

Reyes But who can?

[Scully breaks down crying.]

Badger: Why ain't she talking? She got a secret?

Simon: No, I'm sure not--

River: [in Badger's accent] Sure, I got a secret. More'n one. [pause] Don't seem likely I'd tell 'em to you, do it? Anyone off Dyton Colony know's better'n to talk to strangers. [longer pause]

You're talking loud enough for the both of us, though, ain't you? I've known a dozen like you. Skipped off home early, minor graft jobs here and there. Spent some time in the lock-down, I warrant, but less than you claim. Now you're what, petty thief with delusions of standing? Sad little king of a sad little hill.

[Beat pause]

Badger: Nice to see someone from the old homestead.

River: Not really. [pause] Call me f'anyone interesting shows up.

Badger: I like her.

[Badger's voice wouldn't be familiar to anyone but the Firefly crew, but both River and Simon's voices are recognizable by those who have heard them speak.]

Congratulations, guys.

You came through with fewer casualties and more kills than I expected. Pretty decent teamwork.

We'll try again in a few months, see how things look then.

[The video is posted to the network, viewable once on each device before it self-deletes from that device. So they can see it on their computers and again on their network phone devices (BBs, iPhones, whichever they have). EVERYONE can see this. It was posted anonymously, but it's pretty easy to guess who did it. :) None of the captors are visible, though just for fun there is a very, very brief reflection of Dr. Sam after the camera shows the sign, but it's fuzzy and just a second on screen. And yes, this was an idea submitted in an application, kind of. ;)]

Warning: very slightly graphic mention of brains. And heads in jars. Because ... he's a sadist. And he's having way way way too much fun with the reactions to last week's videos/dreams. XD

Heya guys!

Just thought I'd announce our first group event. Having a pool party up on the roof on Friday, from 3 PM on. The mall has plenty of swimwear for those who didn't bring their own.

Refreshments will be served. We've even got a sno-cone machine.
