Venatio Venefici: a Harry Potter Next Gen RPG
It is the year 2022, and the wizarding world of Britain has flourished since the fall of Lord Voldemort. With Kingsley Shacklebolt as the Minister of Magic and reconstruction after the war complete, life is rather ordinary for the next generation of wizards and witches attending school at Hogwarts. That is, until they discover that the Triwizard Tournament has returned. With the introduction of twenty new students and the temporary hiatus of interhouse competition for Quidditch and House cups, the students must learn to cast aside their differences and work together while enjoying the differences that make everyone unique. But they are, after all, teenagers and most everyone knows that things can always turn unexpected, especially when magic is involved.

Unbeknownst to his followers, Voldermort has divided his soul into seven pieces. Each piece has been hidden in plain sight, waiting for the time that they will be pieced together once more. His numbers increased as many found logic in his beliefs. But for every witch or wizard that joined his ranks, another swore to fight against him.

During his escape from Hogwarts after the death of Voldemort, Rodolphus Lestrange quite literally stumbled over the Resurrection Stone and took it with him. He spent three years trying to find a way to use it to bring back his wife and his Lord. Finally on the evening of April 14 2001, he partially succeeded. He brought back the Dark Lord but only at a terrible cost to himself.

Voldemort is back, young and strong, his soul intact, the prophecy no longer valid and with the knowledge of all the mistakes he'd made in the past... mistakes he does not intend to repeat.

But Rodolphus' spell has more far-reaching effects that he ever expected. Voldemort is not the only one who has been brought back by the spell. Others have come back as well - members of the Order, Death Eaters, Ministry workers... it's effects are wide-ranging and indiscriminant. But no matter who they are, they all come back in the same place... the ballroom of Riddle Manor, thus placing them squarely in the hands of Voldemort and his Death Eaters. And they all come back young and with no memories beyond what they should know at that age.

Can those so captured escape? Or will they become Voldemort's pawns? And what does Voldemort plans to do now?

This is an AU post-DH game set in 2001 that is not epilogue-compliant. It will have dark themes and is open only to those over eighteen.

The year is 2003, the new renaissance for the magical world has flourished after the war. It seems that everyone has forgotten about past events and have moved on. Not everyone moves on easily...As the ministry gives magical journal to every resident, people begin to wonder for what? Isn't peace already there?


As the wizardry world rebuilds so does certain things that shouldn't be re built. Lucius Malfoy hasn't moved on that easily. Even if he did vow to be good. Nothing good ever lasts, now does it? As time passes by his hunger for power rises and each passing moment is making it harder for him to achieve that goal.

Say hello to the new Dark Lord. Behind the backs of the Order of Phoenix , Lucius builds his dark army with followers who are hopeful of another apocalypse and this time, Lucius was prepared. As he found an artifact that could bring the dead back, he thinks on who to use it? And how many people.

The only problem with the artifact is, that once you are reborn to before your death, you are the opposite.... So what did this mean? If you were good before your death, now you were bad? His plans exactly.

What was once dead walks amongst the living. And with a taste for blood. Remus Lupin and many others on the wrong side. No one seems to notice for a while until they see it for them selves. Why would dead loved ones return? Who was doing all of this?

Questions begin to be asked as the ministry slowly loses control to their utopia. It seems that no one can answer the questions, not even Harry Potter. Who will stand up and fight this time? Will anyone be willing to risk their new families or loved ones for another war? Are they ready for what's planned for them..?

In the end you look for hope but never get to find it. It seems that all good that has existent, all dreams that were made, have been destroyed;piece by piece. No one is safe any more. It's a matter of time before catastrophe happens.

The Backstory/The Plot/The Rules/The Application/The Character List

[info]veritaserum_rp is a post-hogwarts RPG taking place in the year 2003.

OPENING JUNE 9TH 2008

It had been expected that with Voldemort gone, everything would be sunshine and flowers.

Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.

The new Minister of Magic, Arcturus Burke has certainly brought British wizarding society back onto the upswing after the war. Unfortunately, he has also imposed many restrictions on everyday life, with strict regulations preventing muggle contact with the wizarding world, curfews for muggleborns and harrassing raids on pureblood homes.

In opposition, Justin Finch-Fletchley set up a charity organization known as "Wizards for Muggles". Under that helpful front however, is a much more ominous agenda. Plan Equal is a recruitment agenda in which the WFM recruited halfbloods and muggleborns to woo specific purebloods in order to dilute pureblood blood lines. While many members of the WFM are not aware of the darker side to the organization, if the plan is discovered, many lives may be shattered and reputations ruined. What will the consequences of such a plan be? Exactly who is part of the plan? And what else is the WFM hoping to accomplish?

If that wasn't enough to contend with, the deatheaters who escaped the final battle and fled to rural areas of England have set up a neo-deatheater organization known as The Renegades, headed by Rodolphus Lestrange. So far their actions have stretched only as far as a few muggings and attacks on travelling muggles and muggleborn wizards. Recently, however, they have begun harassing recruitment strategies on members of wizarding society...

And on top of it all ...an ominous person "The Hunter" has started to kill pureblooded wizards and witches. No one can figure out who it is, why they're doing so, or who is going to be next...
