 Life can change in an instant. One second, one inch makes all the difference. 25 March, 1998; everything changed. After breaking the taboo on Voldemort's name, Harry, Ron and Hermione were captured and taken to Malfoy where they were only saved with the intervention of Dobby, the House Elf who was tragically killed. What if not everything went according to plan? As Dobby gripped Harry's hand, Bellatrix Lestrange hurled her knife across the room, one second earlier. It struck, one inch to the left. As Dobby collapsed, Voldemort arrived and Harry Potter was plunged into the hands of the Dark Lord. Now, it is nearing the end of 1998. Life has flowed on with little to disrupt Voldemort's puppet Ministry. For a time things seemed calm, as the Ministry slowed changes and life started to return to normal. Yet, rumours have started to circulate that Pius Thicknese is about to retire from the post of Minister and will soon be replaced by someone so much more sinister. 1979 is winding toward its own close. Conflicts between the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters continue as Dark Lord continues pressing for dominion of the Wizarding world, and the Ministry will not stand for it. With the rise of a new administration five years ago, Britain has seen the situation grow more and more tense as all three sides raise the stakes one after another.
Laws prohibit travel without Ministry approval, and increasingly, democracy seems to be giving way to a police state. Muggleborns and their advocates disappear in the night as terrorists spill innocent blood in the streets. Pureblood manors are burned and ransacked as an organization for peace lashes out to fight fire with fire. Chaos ensues.
The loudest question on everyone's minds and lips is the simplest: who will win?
No one is certain, and no one is certain what will be left for those winners when the smoke clears.

It is the year 2001, the Wizarding World of Great Britain has been under the Dark Lord's rule for nearly five years. The Golden-trio is only marginally closer to solving the puzzle of victory than they were immediately following their beloved Headmaster's death. Muggleborns have been rounded up and held in cells at Azkaban. Those under the spell of the Complacens potion remain content with the government, but there are those who are beginning to fight it; those few that are beginning to build immunity to the potion and are assembling secretly underground. In 1975 the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters conquered the Ministry and placed themselves at the pinnacle of society. In 2000, life remains the same. The old Death Eaters and their descendants make up the elite. Corruption is rife and, anyone foolish enough to question their actions, will find themselves dead or charged with treason. Blood is all important. Everyone in society is forced to register their blood status, which is the critical measure of how they can live their lives. Muggleborns are exiled and purebloods are heavily favoured in every aspect of the new nation. The once effective Order of the Phoenix is only a fraction of its former self and has no influence. The old members are now on the run or attempting to merge into society, while their old leader has been dead since 1980. However, there are cracks appearing. International condemnation for the Dark Lord’s government is rising with tensions looming over a confrontation with France. War seems almost on the horizon and, the once abandoned Order, view it now as their opportunity to fight again against an enemy it has been unable to fight effectively for decades. Instead, Lord Voldemort found himself face to face with Albus Dumbledore when he arrived at the village. Lord Voldemort, refusing to lose, lashed out with a violent curse that severely wounded both himself and Dumbledore. But when the attack did not kill the older wizard, the weakened Dark Lord ordered a mysterious lurker to finish off Dumbledore. With Albus Dumbledore gone, the Wizarding World waited with baited breath for Lord Voldemort to rise to power. Months passed and there was no sign of the Dark Lord's return. Rumors of his death spread like a wildfire and many attempted to gain back what they had lost to fear. Only the Order of the Phoenix remained suspicious and vigilant. |

Because after disaster strikes, the important thing is that you move on. But if you're like me, you just keep chasing the storm. The problem with chasing the storm is that it wears you down, breaks your spirit. Even the experts agree. A girl needs closure.”-Veronica Mars Seven years ago, the Dark Lord Voldemort fell, finally bringing an end to his vicious reign of power and terror. Yet, the war did not end with his death. For years, the Wizarding World has worked to repair the damages left during the aftermath of war. Emotional burdens have yet to fully heal, too many lives destroyed, families torn apart, and friends lost. Hogwarts was left in rubble, unable to reopen for years, the damage too great, endless sweat and tears shed as people worked to rebuild the foundations to give their children a future. Death Eaters still roam free, cunningly avoiding even the best Aurors, leaving many in fear that another war will be on the horizon. As things begin to resemble some semblance of normalcy, an old follower of Voldemort is in the wings, plotting his revenge, gathering the remaining Death Eaters and new followers, planning to unleash a new war, wanting to finish his master’s vision. In the Ministry, a serial killer is murdering powerful political figures, leaving everyone pointing fingers and letting things slip through the cracks. Fenrir Greyback has escaped from Azkaban, butchering countless individuals as he runs from Aurors, gathering and making new werewolves in his travels, gathering an army to strike against the Ministry. All the while, the Muggle World is at war, affecting the Wizarding World as it heightens. The world is in complete chaos. Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt is determined to rebuild the Wizarding Community into a vision of peace and has called forth some of the best Aurors from around the world in an effort to clean up the United Kingdom, determined to capture and imprison the remaining Death Eaters and send a clear message of constant vigilance to those seeking to do more harm. AU MWPP ERA 5th Year
| In the midst of the fearful time were the wizarding world is on the brink of an all out war, it was the professors of Hogwarts who decided to try to lighten up the everyday lives of their students. They spent that summer devising a plan for a bit of competition and light hearted fun but with strict rules and necessary precautions. And it wasn't until the student's first day of school, during the welcoming feast did Professor Dumbledore announce to them that this year they would bestow upon them the first and only Decaduel Competition. He calmly explained that it was simply a dueling competition for Hogwarts students 5th year, or 15 years and up. There shall only be one winner, a winner who shall be infamous within the walls of Hogwarts. A winner of extravagant prizes including a crown to call their own. With the entire Great Hall a buzz with all the news, Dumbledore then asks the many excited witches and wizards, who then is ready for the challenge, to receive the glory that is the Decaduel King or Queen? |

The story of how the UK was taken over is one passed down from person to person in the shadows, carried by a whisper and a hollow gasp. No one can understand how finally, the noble Harry Potter could have won, and then lost so quickly. A room full of people got to see the last of Voldemort, and no longer are scared to utter his name, even if most do so quietly. Now theirs is a word much more horrifying. The Mortvi are a ruthless lot, Death Eaters renaming themselves after the fall of Voldemort. They used to be his closest of slaves, rather then minions. Many scorned and angry they disappeared into the darkness after their master's fall. Nobody knows how they could return and sweep the ministry building in one night, and foil the Order in another. Not even the Order can figure out how it happened. There is no Prophecy to hold them back, and only a new world order of terror to set them forward. Who's going to stop them? The United Kingdom is in peril. Lawbreakers go unpunished, Aurors and defense go without deploy as they are sent to other places during times the government itself is breaking laws. The Queen herself, as an unseeing Muggle is second to the rulers of the new Wizarding World. They blind the fools who chooose to believe with the thin sheet that they make the UK a better place. The Lestranges are the Ministers for Magic, each of them, without The Dark Lord to hold them back on their escapades, the British island and it's people are pawns to their tests of society. It is almost as if they're free to kill and terrorize at their own will, being so bold as to not hide their own crimes. They have even fooled the new generation of wizards into doing their bidding as they once did the bidding of the Dark Lord. Umbra Populus, the young brigade to the Mortvi. They stroll about free as birds even though they are captors like everyone else. But soon even they won't be so...'free.' Spectrum Divided is a Marauders Era Harry Potter based roleplaying game. But it's a little different from most Marauders Era games. It starts out with the characters as they were in the school year of 1975-1976, the Marauders' fifth year in Hogwarts. But from there on up, the players build history as it happens. Your character can develop how they please, whether it's the same as the books or different - it's all up to you. The game consists of the usual communities, including a main gaming community for everyone, but with a bit of a twist - there is one community for Death Eaters and supporters, and one community for the Order of the Phoenix and supporters. And the premise? A relic of ancient evil has been stolen by Voldemort, and the only thing stopping him from using it is a series of protective boxes - and the keys that will open them, scattered across England, hidden in safety by a group of powerful ancient Witches and Wizards. The race is on to find these keys, keys which are said to affect the minds of those who hold them. Voldemort wishes to use them to gain immortality and expand his power over the Wizarding world, and the world in general. Albus Dumbledore wishes only to keep this artifact out of the hands of the one person evil enough to want to use it. The race is on, and the terrain of the war may just have a whole new face. Help us build it. From here on up. Asphodel: Powdered root of asphodel is used in the Draught of Living Death. This plant is traditionally associated with the afterlife and the underworld. Tired of those games that are purely meant for shipping purposes and barely focus on the events of the first war? We are, and that is exactly why we have created Asphodel. Tidbits of information is all we have been given, tiny nuances to sustain us, but what about the fine details? What really happened during the First War when You-Know-Who was at his peak and the Wizarding World was barely staying above water? The individual stories of those during that time and the conflicts they had were never written, but they certainly existed. So let's write their history, a complete history, of the events that happened from the summer of 1979 onward until the fall of Voldemort himself. 1979. The situation is precarious and the battle is just beginning. Who will make it to the turn of the century, and who will be lost along the way? Time will turn the pages of the story sooner than anyone would like. On one side, Voldemort and his Death Eaters are infiltrating the Ministry of Magic on all sides, working up intelligence and support. On the other side, Albus Dumbledore and the underground group of freedom fighters, the Order of the Phoenix, work discreetly and under a strict code of honor.
