Hi everyone! So I'm Taryn and I bring with me Mr. Henry Latimer, family man and aspiring broommaker. He's a seventh year prefect who played Quidditch in his fourth, fifth and sixth years. He's super friendly and has an open, big heart. He hates seeing people lonely and tries to make everyone feel included. He's every muggle health teacher's dream student basically. :P

I'm so happy to be here and I'm excited to start playing Henry. BRING IT!

HE'S FINALLY HERE YAAAAAAAAY! *runs around excitedly with flaily arms*

Yes, I finallyfinally finished Kenneth's app!

So yes, Julie has another character woo! I feel sorry for Allegra she has to be stuck in my head with 3 boys now...

Anyway this here is Kenneth Towler. He's a muggleborn, he's in Gryffindor and he's in his sixth year.... which means sharing a dorm with the lovely Wealsey Twins and Lee Jordan. It's definitely not a bad thing, it means life is interesting though... and that he has to keep an eye on his clothes and anything else, lest there's another bulbadox powder incident. He might seem like a serious/quiet guy, but he does have a sense of humour and knows what the meaning of fun is (and no it doesn't involve bulbadox powder, Fred and George). He doesn't exactly have a good time at home which is why Kenneth is always seen around the castle during holidays, except summer obviously.
Oh! He's a Prefect and he's also a member of the Drama Club.

Anything else you want to know can be found here... or you can ask.

So friends, enemies, aquaintances, fellow prefects, random people from other houses and other interpersonal relationship types... comment away! :)

Hey everybody! Patricia here with yet another character, this time hailing from my neck of the woods.

This is Tiago Delgado, Portuguese-born Beauxbatons student, also known as the boy who "stole" Parvati away from Harry at the Yule Ball (not that he really minded). He's from the same class as Rémy and Valentina and was Seeker for the Fauconnets (Henri's team) back at Beauxbatons, so most of the French delegation was probably familiar with him even before they left for Hogwarts. He's overall a really nice guy, a bit of a jock, and known to smoke "certain substances", though he's lucky he was never caught. Madam Maxime probably tried to make sure he didn't bring any with him, but failed - but how he managed that, he'll never tell...

For more on Tiago, you can check his bio here. So? Friends, acquaintances, people who dislike him because of certain hobbies? Throw me your plots and ideas!

[info]accio_valentina

I don't have any icons up yet. Deal with it, bitches. I spend precious little time at home at the moment and then last night IJ went down just before I got home and came back again ten minutes after I went to bed. So this is all me typing things at work, then emailing them to myself so I can post on my phone. Booya! Fuck you and your internet restrictions, work. *ahem* It's Alison, by the way.

This is Valentina. She's 18 and the BFF of one Remy Laurent. She's a Beauxbaton's student and originally from Italy. Basically what you have to know about Valentina is that she's sweet and kind and lovely and obliging and helpful, but only if she trusts you. Otherwise, she's as cold as ice. (I kept getting 'Sunday Girl' in my head while I was writing her... "cold as ice-cream but still as sweet...") She is ALL OVER Remy and probably friends with the other Beauxbaton students too (just because there's not many of us and we have to stick together!). Hogwarts and Durmstrang students may have been able to get to know her, usually by being friends with Remy. Otherwise, they will get the cold face. Sorry. Valentina is like a modern day Cinderella with a wicked stepmother, neglectful father and ugly half-sisters. This makes her shy of people but also really clingy when it comes to people she likes. She's good with animals, and also skilled in Divination and, bizarrely, DADA. She's pretty smart. If you're her friend she will basically do anything you ask her to. She's in Choir, Drama club, and Fashion Club.

So... friends? Potential prince charmings? (Who arent gay please - she had a disastrous kiss with Remy before he realised he was gay.) People who think she's a snob? Hit me.

[info]accio_luke

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. It's Alison. This boy here is Luke and this icon will probably never be used IC as he's not very silly. He's pretty serious, actually. Luke is a 7th year Ravenclaw, his real name is Julian but he prefers to be known by his middle name because he's obsessed with Star Wars. Yup, he's a muggle-born and a giant geek. Why he would prefer the world of Star Wars to the world of Harry Potter? Well, the grass is always greener, I guess. Anyways. He's a little socially awkward and quiet but he's sweet. He works hard and gets brilliant grades and tries not to draw attention to himself because he tends to attract bullies. He wants to be your friend, if you're not too loud or scary, and if any girl wants to have dated him and scared him half to death, that would be cool too. I doubt any of your characters would be bullies, but if I'm wrong, let me know on that score too.

Looking forward to diving in!

Hey everybody, Patricia here with a new character. After an enormous amount of time struggling with a Beauxbatons muse, said struggle ended up producing a fourth Hogwarts kid. Go figure.

Anyway, this here is Zoe Wagtail, fifth year Hufflepuff prefect, and queen of all. Petite and girly, she looks and acts cute and sweet, but cross her at her own peril. Hers is a fiery temper, and it's only her attachment to her shiny new badge that stops her from following the Alastor Moody School of Punishment - that, and not knowing how to turn humans into ferrets yet.

And before you ask yes, she's the younger sister of the Weird Sisters' lead singer Myron Wagtail. They're complete opposites both in looks and personality, but they're still very close, though he drives her crazy with his overprotectiveness, as he fears that she might end up with someone like... well, like him. (Ew, she says.) His wish to look after her is such that he even made Orsino and Merton (the two Sisters who are still at school) promise to keep an eye on her - though I'll leave to whomever picks them whether they keep their promise or not. Zoe is outraged at this, but decided that the best way to deal with Myron is not not bother too much about boys and dating - with her OWLs and her prefect duties and all the excitement over the Tournament, she just doesn't have the time or patience to be rebellious. Because of this, feel free to have had your male character(s) ask her to the Ball; she would have said no regardless of her opinion of him.

Anyway, for more on Zoe go here. And please, feel free to hit me with any plots or ideas you might have!

[info]daviest

Hi, everybody! I'm Sammy and I'm new here. I'm a college student who is currently on her winter break, so I should be around pretty much all the time if anyone wants to plot.

This is Roger Davies, sixth year Ravenclaw, proud Muggleborn and former Quidditch captain. Despite the fact that Quidditch is cancelled this year (a fact which nearly led him to try to off himself), he still answers to and occasionally introduces himself as Captain Roger Davies. Usually while shirtless. Yeah, he's that kind of guy. Roger has the kind of giant ego that only comes with heaps of sincere, only slightly misguided self-confidence and is incredibly competitive, to the point where he'd rather make himself physically ill than risk lose something as trivial as an eating contest. When he isn't flying or trying to prove his superiority to the rest of the human race, Roger likes to fill his time with girls. All of the girls. If your character is blonde and female, he has, at one point or another, hit on them. If they're not blonde... he's probably hit on them too. He's only had three serious relationships (the longest was with Amelia Higgs, and lasted a little less than six months), but he's snogged his way around both Hogwarts and the Muggle world, so if any ladies want to have had a piece of him, have at it. Currently, he is head-over-heels in Veela!love with Fleur Delacour and not entirely sure how to feel about it. His friends (whom, rest assured, he treats much better than his love interests) are more than welcome to make fun of him for it.

This was super long and rambly. Sorry about that. Here is his app (which is hopefully more enlightening that whatever I just typed), and, for your time, here is a .gif of the canon Roger attempting to dance.

OMG, an intro. Get it while it's HOT!

GOOD MASTERS! SWEET LADIES! LEND ME YOUR EARS.

Fresh meat right here. Hello! I'm Eve and I am being most unprofessional at work in bringing you Phineas Bradley, 6th year miscellaneous Ravenclaw.

You may remember Phineas from such films as getting-kicked-out-Divination-for-telling-Trelawney-she-didn't-know-constellations or getting-hexed-by-Millicent-Bulstrode-for-asking-her-on-a-date. If you live in the Ravenclaw boys dorm you may recognize him from the bed in the corner, who knows! He's a chill dude though, so even if you don't remember his name he'll be friendly.

Phineas is a half blood and the son of Daily Prophet advice columnist Grizel Hurtz and a muggle psychologist. Translation? He grew up as a freakishly well adjusted child. Get upset and he will invite you to talk about your feelings until you either do or tell him to piss off (no hard feelings). He's laidback, dry-humored, and makes having a lack of direction into an art form. On the side he likes quidditch, metal crafting, history, and random facts that he'll never actually use for anything.

So, Friends/enemies/frenemies, let's do it!

[info]thatsmile

So he's finally here! *cue Kermit flailing of arms* YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! This will sadly probably be my last character, because i am so abominably slow with apps. Anyway recap... I'm Julie, 28, from Australia and currently an at home person as I've been recovering from broken ankle/leg for past 6 months but hoping to possibly get back to TAFE next year to get back into Graphic Design. Here at AG I'm the deputy mod, not that I've been much of one of late, and my other two characters are Allegra Flint (Slytherin, Fifth Year) and Cassius Warrington (Slytherin, Sixth Year)... er, no i don't have a thing for playing Slytherins. >.>

This here is Rémy Laurent. He's a 7th Year from Beauxbatons; more specifically the 7B class. Er, he does actually have a middle name, but in trying to finish the app off I haven't had a chance to properly think of what it ought to be.

Rémy is a naturally charming, friendly, easy-going type of person. Generally never has a bad word to say about anyone, and that's including people he doesn't like. (OMG don't you just hate him now?) He's the sort of person that prefers the quiet rather than say go to a Quidditch match. He is a completely hopeless romantic (but he's not going to sit around waiting for Prince Charming).
He looooves music! Loves singing and playing his guitar. He's also pretty good with drawing/sketching, but doesn't really pursue it seriously.

As for family he sadly has no siblings, but he's okay with that. His mother, Françoise, is an artist, who despite being muggleborn deals mostly in magical portraiture, murals and landscapes rather than muggle art. His father, Guillaume, helps runs his family's business... which I've yet to figure out what it is except that it leaves the family being moderately wealthy. :/

So where might you see Rémy? Well he's taking Ancient Runes, Arithmancy, Astronomy, Charms, Potions and Transfiguration. So if you take those clases you'll see him around. He's also in the Choir and Drama clubs; and is grateful that the foreign students have been allowed to join. So yay.

Sadly for the girls sighing about French boys, this one is gay... buuuuut there is a bit of plottage where poor Samir thinks that Rémy is straight because he's always seen being friendly with this girl... but that's just Rémy's natural state. The only things we've (Patricia and I) have really figured out (but cant decide on) is a) the poor girl in question doesn't realise that Rémy isn't because well one he's gay and two he kind of has his eye on someone else; or b) the girl is simply one of his Beauxbatons friends.... so kind of have to decide on that.

And to stop myself from rambling on and on I'll end things here, only to say that am totally up for any plot. So friends/frenemies/enemies/whatever apply within. And if you want to read more on the boy just go here.

Any other questions that weren't answered by the profile can be asked in comments I suppose.

- Julie

EDIT: So I realised I forgot to mention whereabouts Rémy comes from/lives. Right so Rémy (when not at school) lives with his parents in a smallish wizarding area in Montpellier in the Languedoc-Rousillon region. Ended up choosing Montpellier because a) sooooooo so pretty, b) er future plottage reasons. >.>

So, I told you guys that you wouldn't have to read another intro post from me but, um, I lied? I really wanted a Hufflepuff, okay?! And and and, Anna Kendrick! And also to have a character whose name doesn't start or end in a vowel (let's not discuss her full name), (seriously though, Stella, Amelia, Ava, Elena, Elodie...)!

And I need to get on topic because Nat and I are sitting in the same room having a race to see who can introduce their character first so we can go explore dinner options. So! This is Guinevere Bronwyn Montgomery, but you may call her Gwen. In fact, you must call her Gwen unless you're the foolish (but beloved) parents who named her Guinevere. She's H6. And here are some factoids about her:
• Gwen is really Welsh. Like, really. Her parents actually met at a Welsh-speaking primary school before either of them discovered they had magical powers. She also attended a Welsh-speaking primary school before coming to Hogwarts. She's from Cardiff.

• She's a Montgomery sister, but not one of the Montgomery sisters. The crying pair will be her younger sisters, current third years, who sport the unfortunate monikers of Tristan and Isolde. Tristan is a Hufflepuff like her big sister. Isolde is a Gryffindor. Given the current school environment that's... interesting.

• She's pretty laid back about most things, but very intensely into her academic interests which are first and foremost Care of Magical Creatures (her mum, who she worships, is a Magical Creature expert for the DoMC), followed closely by Herbology and Potions. She spends a lot of time doing outside study and sneaking off to the greenhouses and Hagrid's hut. So she spends a fair amount of time on her own and is perfectly capable of keeping herself entertained.

• She's hard to anger, but can hold a serious grudge. So don't bully her sisters. Or cheat in international tournaments. Or date her and then be a dick, Sebastian. (Why, yes, we have ACRIMONIOUS Hufflepuffs who can't stand to be in the same room as one another, people!)

• She is not the type to be super effusive and have lots of REALLY, REALLY CLOSE FRIENDS (like a certain character of mine that I could mention), instead she has a few close intimates and a lot of friendly acquaintances. I sort of imagine her closest school friends to be her roommates. Tamsin? Ronnie? You up for this? Everyone else, she will be perfectly friendly and probably laugh at your jokes.

• She has the cutest little brother in the world. She will hear no arguments about this.
Clicking post. Did I win? Edit: No! I lost! Why must I talk so much?!

[info]sebsteb

Say hello to Stebbins

Hi! Natasha here with my second character, a sixth year Hufflepuff by the name of Sebastian Stebbins. But most people just call him Stebbins. Some people probably don't even know his first name, I should imagine.

Anyway, he is pretty lazy for a Hufflepuff, only really engaging with schoolwork in the weeks leading up to his exams. Which would be why he received all As in his OWLs and was pretty limited in his choices for NEWTs. He hates academia and can't wait to leave school. Despite that, he's a bit of a cocky bastard and considers himself a ladies man. (With a face like his, why wouldn't they be interested?)

He has a quirky sense of humour and finds things like people tripping over or having their voices changed funny. But he cares about his friends and tries not to cross any lines with them. Though those lines don't seem to extend to chatting up girls that his mates are interested in. If they're single, they're fair game.

Obviously, he's pro-Cedric when it comes to the tournament. But it's not all love and harmony in Hufflepuff - he used to date Gwen Montgomery and the two had a really bad break-up. Oh dear. Not great when you have to share a common room and a couple of classes.

I'm open to friendships, exes, enemies, future relationships... Anything at all!

More info about him here!

Hello new friends! I'm Megtoo ([info]megtoo). I've been away from RP for a few months for some personal stuff but I missed it too much so now I'm back!

This is Keegan Connolly. If she likes you, you can call her Kee. You'll know whether or not she likes you. She would love some more Fifth Year Hufflepuffs, if anybody's feeling a muse coming on!

She's Irish, opinionated, and her bark is worse than her bite. She hates Harry Potter.

Oh, and her father is the Connolly of the Irish National Quidditch Team, and if you've ever talked to her for more than a few minutes, you know that.

I'm looking forward to playing with you all!

Introducing Fleur Delacour!

Bonjour les amis! I'm Gina and I'm bringing you Fleur Weasley! I'm a 22 year old college student with a love for all things nerdy. I may have RPed with some of you previously, though I've been off the grid for a little while. Anyways -- enough about me and on to Fleur:
As you all know she's the champion from Beauxbaton's; also the head of class 7D. Fleur misses home terribly, but she's doing alright. Mostly, she's trying to make sense of things while realizing that soon enough she'll be out in the real world. As far as personality goes, she's pretty selfish but she means well. She's trying to come off a bit nicer since not many of the girls at Hogwarts seem to like her, but you know, it's probably just cause they all want to be her and it has nothing to do with the fact that she's always rolling her eyes and talking about how France is better than this dingy school.
Looking for anything you'll give me: friends, roommates, rivals, enemies, exes, etc. If you want to read more about her, you can access her profile here! If you guys wanna plot a bit deeper and not on this post, you can reach me on aim at rawrzinyoface or e-mail me at rawrzinyoface@gmail.com! Looking forward to playing with you all and I can't wait to get started!

[info]jesuiselodie

Hello all! Becca here, and I have TWO new characters to introduce (at least now I've hit the character limit and you'll never have to hear one of these from me again).

This lovely lady is Mademoiselle Elodie Chevalier. Elodie is like... well, some people might say that she is the French Hermione, but I prefer to think of her as the French Rory Gilmore. Her mother was a Pureblood teenager who got pregnant by a Muggleborn and her parents disowned her. And then Elodie's dad left before she was even born. So, it's always been just the two of them and Elodie's mother has worked really to build a successful cafe business in Paris.

Elodie feels like she has something to prove to the people who abandoned her, so she can come off as a liiiiiiiiittle bit type-A. She gets very good marks, plays violin, plays Seeker for the Alouettes, is the Head of Class (7E), and strives to maintain a neat and stylish appearance at all times. She needs friends who can help her relax and not worry about the future all the time! She can be fun, I promise, she just gets a little caught up in things (Carrie, I was thinking she and Sophie particularly might be BFFs??). She really wants to be Champion and will be disappointed when Fleur is picked. Oh, and, also, she began dating Calvin Fawcett over the summer and maaaybe didn't mention that she was coming to Hogwarts (maybe because she has trust/abandonment issues and wanted to test him). More about Elodie is here.

The second intro is for Miss Elena Gregorovitch ([info]caffiendishly), who is basically the polar opposite of Elodie. Elena is the granddaughter of the famous wandmaker. She was raised in Berlin with her family and for most of her life the Muggle quarters of the city were seperated by the Berlin Wall. Elena's very dry, very deadpan, and somewhat apathetic. Her approach to life is usually to do just enough to get by and not a lot more. She's a classic underachiever and an equal-opportunity offender (she's almost definitely going to make fun of you, but she's so deadpan that you might not notice). She's not mean, however, usually, just observant and prone to pointing out how ridiculous all people are. She's really into coffee. Like, really. And her best friend is Yakov. She's a beater for the Red team. Oh! And she's the youngest student on the Durmstrang delegation. Her 17th birthday is TODAY! Halloween! You can read more about her here.

They both need stuff! Friends, enemies, etc. LET'S DO IT.

[info]whitakers

Oh here I am doing another awkward intro, you'd think I'd be used to these by now. I'm Tessa and I'm 23 currently a casual High School teacher and doing my Masters of Education. I've just finished university for the year so that is pretty exciting because I get to catch up on all my TV shows, my fandom loves include: Supernatural, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Merlin, The Vampire Diaries (is my guilty pleasure even though the writing makes me cringe), and of course I love Harry Potter. I'm also a bit of a musical nut, I'm way too exicited for the Les Mis. film at the end of the year. You can catch me on AIM if you want to chat tessabobbityboo, I'm almost always online and you can send me through an email to.

So this young lady right here is Veronica Whitaker, but for the love of Merlin please call her Ronnie she'll grumble and pout otherwise or maybe even throw something at you if you don't. She's a sixteen year old Hufflepuff with a bad case of foot in mouth, Ronnie is the kind of girl that tells it like it is and isn't very filtered. She has a heart of gold though and goes out of her way for others, she's especially loyal to her friends. Her parents have tried to instill a good set of moral rules in her, but her downfall is her stubborn tenacity and pride. She doesn't like being wrong, she doesn't like being told what to do either. Tell her to go left and Ronnie will surely flip you off and go right. Basically she gets a kick out of frustrating people and doing what is least expected of her. She lives for the fun and daring, which is why she loves Quidditch so much. She is Beater on the Hufflepuff team and you best believe Ronnie was in a rage and sulked for days when she found out Quidditch was cancelled.

Lines for Ronnie? She needs anything and everything! You can of course read more about her here because I suck at intro'ing characters.

A possible hiatus and an intro...

Hi, it's Crystal! I have some bad news and some good news.

The bad news is that I'm living in the path of Hurricane Sandy, and there's a risk of power outages in the next couple of days, meaning I may have to take a hiatus, so I'm pre-emptively announcing it now since I obviously can't if the power goes out.

And onto the good news, I have a third character! Her name is Alexandra Volakis, and she's a 7th year student at Durmstrang. She's from a small village on the Greek island of Crete, and she's an aspiring healer.

If Alexandra had gone to Hogwarts, she probably would have sorted into Hufflepuff. She's very caring and likes to help others, hard-working, etc. She's very people-oriented and likes to be around others, though she's not the stereotypical extrovert- she's quiet, soft-spoken, supportive, and a good listener rather than the loud life of the party one usually envisions when thinking of extroverts.

Then again, like a Ravenclaw, she's a voracious reader and loves reading about faraway places that she hopes to travel to someday. In fact, she decided to sign up for the tournament because she'd get to go to Scotland. She was a chaser for the Black Team and the school team back at Durmstrang, but is substituting with Flying Club this year. She's also going to be in the Book and Charms clubs.

I'm up for Durmstrang plot and future connections of all kinds!

[info]accio_yakov

Hiiii it's Alison again. Sorry about the boring journal names, by the way. I'm getting easily confused these days so I'm trying to get the journal names for each game next to or near each other on my lj login menu (which is sorted alphabetically). This will only make sense to firefox users who use the lj login button, and possibly not all of those. Ah well.

So this young man is Yakov Poliakoff, a 7th year boy from Durmstrang. Yakov is pronounced Yak-cove but he doesn't really care much if you get it wrong. He is very easygoing, y'see. Canonically, he wants wine and spills food all down the front of his robes, so you get a character based around that :-P He's a total slob, and he loves food more than anything. You'd think he'd be fat but apparently his metabolism is in his favour in that respect. I bet he's going to get one hell of a belly in his late twenties, though. He's Jewish but blatantly eats pork when his dad isn't there to stop him. Don't think he's not devout though! If someone tries to get him to work on the Sabbath, he is suddenly Jewish again ;-)

His bio is here if you want to read it. It's actually quite sad because his dad basically pressured him so much and made him feel like such a failure that he gave up trying to be anything. Your characters won't know that, though. They'll just see a lazy, messy, affable and fairly cheerful boy who spills food and needs to be tricked or coerced into changing his underwear before it stinks up the castle. (Oh yeah, ladies, he's a catch.) He needs girls to mother him and persuade him to wash his hair, and boys to be boys with. Enemies and people who are overcome by his grossness also welcome!

*spot the other [info]gobletmods character in his icons*

Hello everyone. My name is Heather and I'm a character-concept addict... X-D !

This here is Anzelm Piotr Slawomierz Kowalczyk-Szczepanski, or to you lot, Anzelm Szczepanski (there's a story behind why he has a double barrelled surname and his siblings don't, in his bio). If you're currently looking at the lack of vowels and going "Bwuh?", he laughs at you. There were far, far more complicated choices about ;)

He's a 7th Year from Durmstrang, and a Polish pureblood who also happens to be good pals with a certain Bulgarian Seeker we all know... speaking of, Anzelm also plays Quidditch (Beater), but unlike some of his pals, has no desire to go pro. His role model is his dad, who is a barrister specialising in human rights law in Wizarding Eastern Europe. His focus is on bringing prosecution suits related to the supporters of Grindelwald and the atrocities committed in that era. What Anzelm has taken from this is a desire to become an Auror - thus he catches 'em, and his dad will get 'em locked up. The family are social activists and Anzelm has picked up on that, not really caring that the more hoity-toity families consider the good Szczepanski name soiled for their politics, and the small matter of Anzelm, the firstborn, being born out of wedlock. He couldn't give a crap about what they think about either matter.

He's a prefect at Durmstrang but is something of a thorn in the side of the Administration, as he criticises school policy (loudly) on a regular basis - particularly the rule that effectively (if not intentionally) bans Muggleborns. A gamble, yes, but that's what he's like - and he's playing off the fears of the school that if he lost his position, it would make the school look like they were returning to the blood purist politics of old. Needless to say, the loathing he has for Karkaroff is entirely mutual and the governors can't wait to get rid of him ;)

You won't need translation charms to talk to him - his dad's political savvy meant that as soon as his magic showed, he was tutored in English as well as Norwegian whilst preparing for school. It's a matter of pride that he doesn't use automatic quills or translation charms in either language. He's also working on his other languages at the moment, able to hold a reasonable conversation in some of Durmstrang's other common languages - Russian, Finnish, Bulgarian and German. He doesn't write them so well without magic, but he's working on that, he says. Can you tell he wants to go into politics after retiring from active duty as an Auror? Lol :)

He's actually not a scary political type and is pretty good to have around as a friend. He's the sort of person who will try and bring everyone into a conversation or activity, and makes a point of asking girls to dance at socials if they're by themselves, no matter who they are. His friendship policy is pretty inclusive and is looking to meet as many new people as possible whilst at Hogwarts. If he can piss off the purist types back home by taking a half-blood or muggleborn girl to the Yule Ball, even better!

This guy's completely new for me, so PLOT WITH ME! I'M EXCITED!

[info]_dumspirospero_

Hi all! Through the wonders of copy/paste and five minutes' tweaking (though colour coding the bio took WAY longer, urgh!), I bring to you our first foreigner (though naturally she won't be writing quite yet) - Anaïs Séverine Bolduc! No prizes for guessing which school she belongs to ;)

Having said that, she's not actually French. She was born in Canada to a Quebecois father and French mother, and spent the early years of her life there. Thus, when she speaks English, she sounds Canadian (and her English is excellent because of the practice she's had). When she speaks French, she sounds Quebecoise - and to a French ear, that sounds like someone from the Deep South would sound when they speak English. Just as a guideline!

These days, however, her family are based in Paris, as her father is a Canadian government attaché to the French Ministry of Magic. Her mother is a Squib who works a magic-free office job in the French Wizengamot, and her brother studies at l'Université de Montpellier, as he wants to go into Muggle Relations later on.

She's a Quidditch nut, Chasing and Captaining the Linottes side to victory in the school championship last year. She's totally going to be backseat captaining all the way from Scotland - pity the poor girl who has the job this year! She plans on going to tryouts this summer, either in France, Britain or Canada. She aims on playing pro and is going for the best offer she can get.

Even without the French uniform, she's noticeable. Standing nearly 6'0 in bare feet, she has Weasley-red hair and an innate sense of self confidence. She'd totally be a Gryffindor. She's taking Runes, Astronomy, Charms, Muggle Studies, Potions and Transfiguration. Her main interest is art related stuff, and she's bringing her art-textiles and knitting stuff with her to Hogwarts. She has no intention on hanging out in the Beauxbatons carriage all the time all year - you'll definitely see her chilling out in the library, more often than not.

Plenty of time to do so, so plot with me, people! Are you planning on picking up a BB kid and want to do backstory? Let me know. Friends past and new? Classmates? Potential Yule Ball date? Have at me!

It's true! I have a third character! Her name is Ava Rosier and she's a Gryffindor 7th year. Things you should know about her include...
• Yes, her father was Evan Rosier the Death Eater who was killed by none other than our DADA professor. Her father was killed when she was almost four and her mother died when she was born. She was raised by her paternal grandparents.

• She's actually a halfblood, but you think she's a pureblood. Her mother, Lucia, was a Muggleborn witch from Puerto Rico who Evan met on a year of traveling after finishing school. After angering an old woman in Lucia's village, Evan was placed under a love spell to teach him the error of his ways and bigotry. He got Lucia pregnant, married her, and brought her back to England. His parents arranged for her to have a false identity as a pureblood. And then they arranged for her to take a little fall down the stairs.

• Ava loved her father and he loved her even though he went back to his Death Eating, blood purist ways after her mother died and the spell was broken. She is very freaked out by Moody's presence (and the way he keeps staring at her), but trying to ignore it.

• She's a very conflicted girl because she's been raised to think that pure blood is the only acceptable kind of blood and that her blood is lacking. Having internalized this, she is not outwardly purist but suffers from a lot of self-loathing and insecurity. As such, she is rather quiet and introspective, but if you manage to get past her walls she is funny, and dry, and very kind.

• She is expected to keep her true bloodline a secret and marry pure, otherwise her grandparents (who make no secret of hating her), will toss her out on the streets. They've been trying to set her up with men old enough to be her grandfather.

• Her best friend is Ruby Robins! If you're mean to Ruby, Ava probably doesn't like you.

• She has a crush on Jules. Yes, Jules.
Anyway, her backstory and personality are REALLY hard to summarize since the whole thing is kind of complicated and dark and crazy, so if you're interested please read her app! Housemates? Other friends? People who hate her based on her name alone? Purebloods who grew up with her? People her grandparents might try to marry her off to? HIT ME WITH YER PLOTZ.

Edit: OH! And today, October 9th, is her birthday!!
