Introducing Fleur Delacour!

Bonjour les amis! I'm Gina and I'm bringing you Fleur Weasley! I'm a 22 year old college student with a love for all things nerdy. I may have RPed with some of you previously, though I've been off the grid for a little while. Anyways -- enough about me and on to Fleur:
As you all know she's the champion from Beauxbaton's; also the head of class 7D. Fleur misses home terribly, but she's doing alright. Mostly, she's trying to make sense of things while realizing that soon enough she'll be out in the real world. As far as personality goes, she's pretty selfish but she means well. She's trying to come off a bit nicer since not many of the girls at Hogwarts seem to like her, but you know, it's probably just cause they all want to be her and it has nothing to do with the fact that she's always rolling her eyes and talking about how France is better than this dingy school.
Looking for anything you'll give me: friends, roommates, rivals, enemies, exes, etc. If you want to read more about her, you can access her profile here! If you guys wanna plot a bit deeper and not on this post, you can reach me on aim at rawrzinyoface or e-mail me at rawrzinyoface@gmail.com! Looking forward to playing with you all and I can't wait to get started!

Awww Sarah :) HI!

Hey Gina, Im Carrie and I have four here.

Tamsin Applebbe, sixth year Hufflepuff and resident hipster. Tamsin eats organically and reads books you've never heard of and likes music you've never heard of and generally is on the pretentious side. She is a generally soft spoken and mostly friendly. She is a member of the art club, book club and charms club. She'll be on the friendly side to Fleur.

Lucy Chambers, [info]bemoaning sixth year Ravenclaw. Lucy is abrasive to those who don't know her best, she seems very sarcastic and blunt and tends to speak first think later. She tends to be laid back to the point of almost laziness, except for her DMLE dreams, then she'll bust her arse. She can go either way to Fleur.

Julian (Jules) Dorny, [info]stagnantly seventh year Slytherin and prefect. Jules is antisocial, robotic and hates everyone and everything equally. He tends to be completely off putting to almost everyone and doesn't know how to interact with the people around him. He's underwhelmed by most things and would rather be reading/smoking/studying than doing anything involving any other person. He'll be avoident.

Sophie Ledoux, [info]unconversant Beauxbaton 7L. Sophie is idealistic, loyal and slightly naive. All she wants to do is make the world a better place, even if she tends to fail at most of the things she tries. She is incredibly friendly and will more than likely be friendly to Fleur.

I feel as though I've played with you just because I recognize those journal names --- haha but I might be nuts too! Hello Carrie :)

Fleur will be decent enough to Tamsin! If she spots a journal entry about something that confuses her, I'm sure she'll spark up some conversation>

We'll have to see about Fleur and Lucy! I could see that going really badly, or okay haha.

She probably won't notice Jules.

And she probably loves anyone that's from her school at this point, so friends maybe?

Hi! I'm Crystal, and I think I know you from Confundo and Feinted.

Anyway, I have 3 characters here:

Leanne Clearwater ([info]daydreaming) is a 5th year Ravenclaw. She's introspective and off in her own world half of the time, shy and quiet, and aspires to become a fashion designer. I don't think she'd cross paths with Fleur very much.

Audrey (yes, that Audrey) Bulstrode ([info]audrey_elise) is a 6th year Slytherin and prefect. Audrey is ladylike, a good student, and tries her best to be friendly and outgoing, as she knows people skills and charisma are important in politics, which she plans on going into after Hogwarts. She's in choir, so she'll know Fleur from that. She doesn't think much of her, but will probably maintain a polite facade unless Fleur really pisses her off.

And last but not least is Alexandra Volakis (this journal), 7th year Durmstrang student! Alexandra is from Greece. She wants to become a healer, which stems from the fact that she likes helping people. She's very people-oriented, a good listener, and an avid reader. She's in charms club as well, and so will also know Fleur. She might actually be nice to Fleur, because that's how she usually rolls.

I was at both, yes :) Hello again!

Fleur wouldn't notice her, unless she did in fact notice Leanne's style, and then she might be nice.

I could see her getting along with Audrey or just not really noticing her. Haha.

She will probably like Alexandra simply because she's not a Hogwarts student, but she'll be friendly enough!

Hi Gina! I'm Katie and I'm so excited to have a Fleur :D and I am also 22 and nerdy, so... yay for that, I guess. ANYWAY, I have two characters here!

This journal is Cho Chang (you probably figured that out), and I'm still not really sure how she'll feel about Fleur, but I'm thinking she'll be one of those Hogwarts girls that doesn't much like her. It's definitely the attitude (plus she likes both Harry and Cedric and is 100% rooting for them in the Tournament!), but since Cho is also kind of an "it girl" (for lack of a better term), Fleur is definitely welcome to think that she's jealous!

Ruby Robins ([info]laal), on the other hand! is a lesbian (not really closeted but definitely not out either) and is feeling the effects of Fleur's veela heritage. Oh boy. SO THAT WILL BE FUN. Ruby's a 7th year Gryffindor, so she and Fleur will have some classes together (Charms, DADA, Potions, & Transfiguration). ALSO she's not super rah-rah-cheer-for-the-home-team, PLUS her little sister is a raging feminist who has rubbed off on Ruby over the years, so while I don't think that she'll be cheering for Fleur, she's not totally opposed to the idea of her winning the tournament.

If you ever want to talk plot I'm reachable at indecisivekatie@gmail.com or indecisivekatie on AIM. Welcome to Accio Goblet!

Hi Gina! I'm Becca and I've got FIVE for your perusal because A) I'm a crazy person, and B) I was laid up with an injury and nothing better to do than, you know, write a bunch of apps!

The first is Stella Fawcett ([info]astellaidea) who is a 6th year Ravenclaw. Stella is probably one of the most popular girls in school, just because she's SUPER FRIENDLY and kiiiiiiinda boy crazy. I don't think she'll have much interest in Fleur tournament-wise since she's been friends with Cedric since they were five (they're neighbors), and she's throughly rooting for him. Unless a certain other Hufflepuff starts mooning after Fleur, she won't have any reason to seriously dislike her however. So, she's likely to be friendly. Stella speaks French fluently and spends lots of time in France with her grandparents and LOVES to shop and talk about clothes and such, so they could probably find some common ground.

Then I have Amelia Higgs ([info]misshiggstoyou) who is a 5th year Slytherin. Amelia will not like Fleur. Amelia doesn't like most people to be fair, but she will especially dislike Fleur because she and Roger used to date. She broke up with him, but still, having your ex rebound with some French Veela is offensive.

Next is Ava Rosier (this journal), 7th year Gryffindor. Ava is the secretly halfblooded daughter of a dead Death Eater. She's quiet but kind (with a lot on internal emotional issues, but that's neither here not there). She probably finds Fleur intimidating, but would be nice if it came down to it. She's best friends with Ruby and might notice Ruby noticing Fleur. So, there's that.

Elena Gregorovitch ([info]caffiendishly) is a Durmstrang 6th year. She functions in a quasi-constant state of deadpan sarcasm. She will mock Fleur. She mocks everyone. But, secretly, I think Fleur probably makes her feel a bit bad about herself. Especially since Elena is one of the lads and finds the way that Fleur can wrap boys around her finger, well, unfair.

And then I have Elodie Chevalier ([info]jesuiselodie who is from Beauxbatons! Elodie is Head of Class 7E. She's sort of the French Hermione in that she's super intense and type-A and works exceedingly hard at everything from her marks, to Quidditch, to playing violin, etc, etc (she was abandoned by her father and her grandparents to be raised by her teenage mother, so she feels like she has something to prove). Part of her is deeply annoyed by Fleur because she doesn't approve of people who don't have to work hard to get the things that they want. And she also really, really wanted to be champion (even though she would have been terrible because not being able to plan for the tasks would have driven her batshit). However, there are only six French girls and she feels they ought to stick together. And Elodie's bestie is Sophie who is nice to everyone. So, I think she will try to be understanding and friendly. Unless Fleur tries to Veela one Calvin Fawcett, Slytherin 7th year, who Elodie has been dating since the summer. Then all bets would be off, haha.

Anyway, I talk too much. Welcome to the game!

Haha, no judgement here, I've been there before!

I think Fleur would feel a bit threatened by Stella, but at the same time, she'd think she was better than most of the students at Hogwarts for actually being educated on a language that has value. Haha, we'll see!

Fleur probably won't notice Amelia, but on the off chance that she catches a glare from her, she may just smile at her all condescending and such lol.

Fleur will be kind enough to Ava, I think!

Fleur will definitely be mean if she mocks her, so I'm excited for some conflict there!

I could see Fleur and Elodie maybe having some differences when they went to school at home, but now that they are at a different school, Fleur is probably a bit nicer because she needs as many people on her side as she can and of course, they're stuck living together and such.

Nice to meet you :)

Haha, I think it is so funny that anyone would feel threatened by Stella! But I sort of love it. She also speaks Spanish and Italian (she's got a grandparent from each country), if that helps or hurts her case :P

Fleur might not notice that Elena is mocking her because she is so deadpan, but it would definitely be funny if she did. We shall have to see!

And definitely, foreign country and surrounded by Brits, the French have got to stick together. So, I think they'll manage even if they get annoyed with one another sometimes :D

Hi Gina, I'm Patricia and I think I know you from Absolution and Feinted. I'm the mod here, so if you need anything feel free to ask!

Anyway, I have three boys here:

Firstly, there's Cormac McLaggen ([info]myownfanclub), fifth year Gryffindor. He's loud, childish, immature, obsessed with girls, Quidditch and his own awesome self (well, awesome in his own eyes, that is), but underneath all his braggart ways he's just an old softie. He's trying to rebel from his purist family but is failing terribly at it so far. He won't need to be influenced by veela powers to act like an idiot around Fleur because that's his default mode anyway.

Then there's Hamish Fraser (this journal), sixth year Ravenclaw and the Keeper for his house's team. He's a thick-accented, gruff-speaking, kilt-wearing Scot who, in spite of appearances, in actually very sweet and girl-shy. He's the identical twin of Cassius Warrington from Slytherin (they were separated at birth by their purist grandparents and only met at Hogwarts) but it's not hard to tell them apart since they actually prefer to accentuate their differences. The twins are currently back home, as their mother had a baby, and will be back on Sunday, but once they're able to interact again he'll be nice to Fleur, even if his natural shyness will make him act (and feel) a bit quiet and awkward.

And finally there's Samir Karim ([info]littlepharaoh), sixth year Hufflepuff. He's a muggle-born from the posh part of London. He's now living with his friend Barney's family, as his parents kicked him out after he came out, but he's trying to fight any negative feelings about it by putting all his energy in all the artistically-inclined clubs and by mothering his friends and housemates. He's very loud and hyper and likes to write in CAPITAL LETTERS when he's excited, which some people find a little intimidating. Also, since Cedric is one of his best friends he'll be Team Diggory all the way, but he'll still be nice to the other champions (except Potter because ugh CHEATER) and their supporters in his loud, inimitable way.

Hi Patricia! Nice to see you again :)

Haha, I think that some Cormac/Fleur interaction will definitely be fun! She'll probably secretly like toying with him a bit too!

She'll be nice enough to Hamish and may even be confused by the twin thing.

She might actually like Samir for being so fun, but we'll have to see if they even cross paths.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]littlepharaoh
2012-11-09 07:53 pm UTC (link)
And Cormac will very likely be completely oblivious to the fact she's toying with him, which I'm sure will make it even funnier.

Fleur and Samir might indeed cross paths in some way, as he's got this huge crush on one of her schoolmates. It will all depend on how well Fleur and this boy will get along once he joins the game, I suppose.

LOL. I need to find an icon of Mel to retaliate with, but I have no idea which one he would like. I'll try one where she's reading, since he likes brainy girls.

But yeah, a lot of the time. Sometimes she suspects that it is because debating makes her happy and there is always going to be things they disagree on to fight about.

Hi Gina! I recognise the AIM - I think we were at Feinted together for a little while? I played Kevin there :)

I have five here so I'll try and keep it short.

Leon - Hogwarts Head Boy, Ravenclaw 7th year. Was possibly the most laid back candidate for the post in recent history, but the responsibility's made him a bit more serious. He's still a bit of a Lad though. (He needs friends especially roomies OMG.) Think of him as similar to his previous incarnations, just weighed down by the responsibilities.

Larissa - Ravenclaw 6th, speaks with a South African accent as Afrikaans is her mother's birth language. Essentially the same as at Feinted, but she's going to be relating a bit more to the foreign students.

Vicky - Gryffindor 6th, one of the fairer Gryffindors with regards to the Potter v Diggory rivalry. She will be interested in what happens at the foreign schools, but I imagine Fleur will annoy her if she says anything unfair about Hogwarts within her hearing.

Anzelm - Durmstrang 7th, a highly controversial choice for prefect because basically, Karkaroff and half of the governors loathe him. Pureblood blood traitor through and through. Essentially got chosen for the post because he's vocally a critic of the school's policy effectively banning Muggleborns (amongst other things) and they briefly attempted to look less elitist. Realised they couldn't get rid of him, despite his criticisms, because that WOULD make them look elitist. He and his younger brother were accepted onto the Durmstrang delegation so that the governors could get rid of them for a year.

Anais - who will have most relevance to Fleur! I haven't chosen a class for her yet (really need to get on with that), but she's BB7th, Chaser and Captain of the Linottes, and took them to a Championship win last year. Like the Feinted Anais, she's a tall, red haired French-Canadian glamazon who speaks French with a Quebecois accent and English with a Canadian one. She's pretty cool with the British stuff because it's not all that dissimilar to Canada, which she calls home, despite spending most of the year in Paris.

Oh yes, I remember Kevin! Nice to see you again!

She'll like Leon and Larissa, I think. She'll be nice enough.

I definitely could see Vicky and Fleur having a few words, but Fleur probably won't notice her if they don't.

Anzelm sounds so interesting! We'll have to see if Fleur will meet him!

As I said to the other Beauxbaton students, I think it's safe to say that Fleur will be nice because she's happy with anyone that's familiar to her at this point. And all this english speaking is just becoming bothersome.

Hi Gina! I'm Alison and I have four kids here. Their usernames are all accio and then their names. Ms. Original, that's me.

This is BARNEY. I didn't mean to put that in caps but it's actually quite appropriate. Barney is one of our 6th year hyper Hufflepuffs. He's bouncy and friendly and loud and sporty and sweet and a little dim. He gaped at Fleur when she arrived but I assume someone has told him by now not to be rude so he will try not to do that now. He will probably try and talk to her but it would be hilarious is he got tongue tied because usually he has verbal diarrhoea! He is dating Audrey but blatantly should be dating Stella. Due to his stupidity and Stella's tendency to joke around, he thinks Stella is engaged to Cass.

I also have Demelza, aka Mel, who is a 5th year Gryffindor. She is very political and a feminist and a Marxist and is all about the revolution. And the boys. Her favourite thing is debating and she is going to try and set up a Model United Nations type thing whilst ask the foreign students are here. She's pretty friendly so she may talk to Fleur. She is Ruby's sister.

I have Lee Jordan, who will try and chat her up but more because he flirts with most of the girls rather than because of her Veela powers. He is mischievous but is more than an instigator than a man of action. He's pretty laidback and likes finding rules to break. He is beasties with the twins and will be team Harry, but that won't stop him being friendly.

And finally I have Yakov, a 7th year Durmstrang student. He is super lazy and obsessed with food. He often has food on his robes and has poor personal hygiene in general. He is a nice guy though. Still, I don't imagine Fleur will like him much!

Welcome to the game!

Hello Allison!

She might think Barney is sweet and will probably be nice enough to him! He sounds cute!

She'll be nice to Demelza and will appreciate her interest in her country!

She'll think Lee is funny, and will probably find it entertaining to mess with him a bit.

And I agree, I don't think Fleur will be too fond of Yakov. She'll most likely make not-so-polite faces at him if they cross paths.

I realised after I wrote this that I just introduced myself to you at Fourteen Shades as well. Someone has been a busy apping bee! Aaaaaanyway, that all sounds good. Incidentally, if you're female, Lee is really easy to get to do things for you. You basically just have to ask and look pretty at the same time, and he'll say yes. So, armed with that information, Fleur, have fun!

Hello! My name is Lari and I have Marietta Edgecombe here. She is a shy fifth year who is on Team Cedric and bffs with Cho Chang. As she's a Ravenclaw the BB students will be eating meals with them, but I think she would be too intimidated by Fleur to try and talk to her. <<

Hi Gina! I'm Josie and I have two characters here.

This is Katie Bell! She... has a huge crush on Fleur. It's partly the Veela thing -- Katie is bisexual -- but partly because Fleur is just so pretty and confident and perfect. However, Katie doesn't want anyone to know (about her sexuality, or her crush on Fleur) so she is desperately trying to hide it. So she'll be trying to avoid speaking to Fleur irl, sorry! Fleur will probably think she's a bit strange, if she notices.

Aaaand my other character is Ingvardine Nilsen ([info]ingvardine), a Durmstrang 7th year. I only just picked her up, so I'm still getting a feel for her character, but Ingvardine is pretty and popular and rich, so she might feel slightly threatened by Fleur? Ingvardine says what she thinks and doesn't care about the consequences, so if she and Fleur get into an argument I can definitely see sparks flying! (Either that, or they'll get on famously and bitch about things together. WHO KNOWS.)
