Have you ever heard of anyone having, like... a monster, but not really? And after you fight it, it chooses you and talks inside your head and it's in a stone and you can summon it theoretically. Is that a real thing or did Liyal hit his head? Its name is Leviathan, if that helps.

I need a book recommendation. About summoning? Like creatures you can call on to fight, or maybe they're just in your head to make snide comments and not really do anything, I don't know? Apparently the one I'm thinking of is called Leviathan and he's in a rock. Also I'm not sure this is a real thing so please don't think I'm crazy. I'm asking for ... a friend.
