( Finally, after multiple packs of cigarettes, too much booze to count, and a couple of sleepless nights, he made his decision. Bleary-eyed and not quite sober from the night before, he left his car at the motel and nabbed another one from the lot, a beat-up generic thing that he drove all around town before ditching it a couple of blocks from Sid's address. )
