SUBJECT: Society Block Party

To the Presidents of Our Noble Societies,

First of all, I'd like to offer congratulations to everyone for the events of the last couple weeks - I've heard some pretty impressive things about each of your adventures, as well as of strong performances from the members of your societies. Though we all faced certain hardships and missions did not unfold exactly as planned, it's important to focus on the fact that we all returned safe, sound, and most importantly, successful.

Furthermore, I personally feel that the Junior Missions left us with an unprecedented atmosphere of camaraderie amongst many students, after having worked together so diligently in inter-year, inter-society groups. Personally I would like to see this atmosphere cultivated, which is why I'm coming to you with a proposition: an all-society block party to be held this Saturday along Society Row, in which we celebrate our victories and pay tribute to our losses.

I hope that I can count on all of your participation in this initiative. I trust you'll all find the suggestion perfectly agreeable. The Student Counsel will be happy to pool our resources in whatever way necessary, but I have faith in your respective societies - and your talented Social Chairs - to make this an event to remember.

With Fond Regards,
Dembe Adrisi
President, Camulus Student Counsel
Representative of Uganda

WHAT: A press conference to announce the Junior Axiom initiative.
WHERE: Camulus Press Room
WHEN: 11 February, 2037
STATUS: IC/OOC Log

The press room was jam-packed with press, Camulus staff and those students who decided to attend when the Executive Student Council and the Axiom Representative walked on-stage to make what the networks were hoping to be the most exciting news of the year.

They weren't disappointed, though the excitement held was both positive and negative. Many of the Executive Student Council spoke, as did the Axiom Representative, explaining the initiative and expressing their feelings on it. Nevertheless, the reviews were mixed. One journalist, a critic popular for being outspoken, was incredibly harsh, suggesting that this is simply a ploy for more media attention and not safe for either civilians or training Camulus students, a point at which Yuki suggested that the media let the students students themselves tell the media what they think instead of the media assuming.

Discussions continued for a while, but by the end of the conference, it was clear that in spite of some heated detractors, the media seemed fairly taken with the program.

Please comment if your character was there, if they said anything, etc.

Let's party.

But no, it greatly troubles me to hear that once again Amazon makes demands at the expense of others. Their belief that they are "in control" and/or the most important society on campus is unforgivably rude to the other organisations at Camulus. I know we all have friends in Amazon and while I respect the girls individually; I do not, however, respect the manner in which they have handled the debaucle. If Amazon wants to behave like they are spoiled children, they are welcome to. I refuse to reward it and I refuse to attend their party on grounds of how they have forced it to occur.

As such, I propose we host a party, before their party, making a new tradition of Psi and Sigma cooperation. We are both houses that continually move forward and live for innovation. Instead of adhering to tradition, we buck it, and we make our own. I cannot think of a better partnership. I will not be handling this, our social chair will, as well as our wonderful president, Alfred, but I will be involved; especially as my unique powers can be detrimental to the plans of Psi. I want to be sure if we do this, my presence will not affect the party as a whole.

Sigma, I am confident, can provide a laser show after sunset, as well as opening the planetarium (I will speak to Bruno about providing a soundtrack to it? Like a complete experience) and with our members, we can certainly design a combat field with electric discs instead of the usual beer pong (however, that will also be available). I firmly believe this would be an excellent idea. Maya and I are both in agreement and would like to speak more about this with all of you. Is it possible to set up a meeting for coffee either tomorrow or the next day?

Cheers,

SUBJECT: "Junior Mission" Programme

Dear all,

It is my great pleasure to now announce the "Junior Mission" Programme, in conjunction with Axiom, to all of my peers. As you are probably not aware, I joined an Axiom representative for a press conference this morning with selected members of the press. The exciting news is that Axiom is establishing a new programme designed to allow all eligible students a chance at gaining hands-on experience. How does this work?

As an alternative choice to returning home for the breaks, you can apply to "shadow" an Axiom mission. This means you will have the opportunity to live and train with an Axiom group, while reporting directly to a specified Axiom team leader; in this case, similar to a Camulus mentor. The importance of this programme is clear. Axiom is a goal many of us have and the chance to work with the organisation, as well as see how it is run, and experience a typical day, is an opportunity never seen before. The ability to make connections and ensure your desire to pursue a position with Axiom combine to make this an excellent programme we should be grateful for.

Interested students should talk to their mentors to see if this is a proper fit for them. Applications will be circulating in the next few weeks. If you have further questions please speak to me and/or Sierra. I am honoured to be acting as a junior representative for this programme and I will assist you wherever I can. We do ask that you DO NOT mention this in front of the cameras until the Executive Council hosts it's full press conference next week. Good luck to the students who wish to apply for this!

CC: [MENTORS]
BCC: "H. Dingle" [dingle@axiom.org]
SUBJECT: filming and camulus tv

Dear all,

There is an inescapable truth about Camulus. Wait. Two. The first is, of course, your mentors will torture you. The second being you will be filmed. I understand, as do the tournament organisers, that not everyone likes this. It is, however, part of being here. It's a wonderful way in which to represent your country and to also involve the general public. I, myself, am a fan of the television show and I find it interesting how dynamics develop. It's a useful tool for self-reflection, as well.

Nonetheless, I do realise for some people being filmed can be difficult. You have no control over the editing process and things you've said, or done, can be portrayed in a way you may not be comfortable with. Please keep in mind: they cannot edit something you have not done or said. If you wish to not be portrayed in a way less than savoury, do not give them fodder. Be careful of what you say. Think before you speak, or do. I have found the cameras have made me more cautious in my behaviour.

Over the top behaviour will not be rewarded, either. Outlandish behaviour can and may see you issued warnings from the mentors. Receive enough and you will be asked, politely, to leave the academy. This can be issued after watching your behaviour on television: so think.

With this all said: if you are having trouble with your media representation or feel it is unfair, please speak to me. As your VP External I handle our relationship with the media and I will speak to them on your behalf. Camulus should be a positive experience. While I cannot fix situations you have got yourself into, if editing is genuinely making you a villain, I can ask them to stop or lay-off. For those of you who do not want to be on film, I suggest you find the cameras and avoid them. Iskowitch has done an excellent job of this.

As a footnote, there is exciting news coming soon. Mark your datebooks for 2nd February.

Thank you.
